"what". Linda gasped in shock as she stared at Clara in disbelief, she couldn't believe what she was hearing. 

"yes luna". Clara said.

"the alpha has ordered that every pack house must be searched, he's still looking for her". Clara said worriedly. 

"I'm so sorry Clara, and that's the reason your house has been messed up". she replied sadly. 

Linda has hurried to Clara's home the moment Damien stepped out of the house, on getting here, she saw that everywhere was in a mess, most of her things had been smashed, but she still managed to keep the old lady safe. 

she had expected something like this to happen, but she didn't know it would be this serious, he's even taking some innocent wolf's he sees as the suspects and even torturing them to death, many innocent lives is being lost, just because of her, what's she to do now, why is this lady so important to damien that's he's even ready to kill so many innocent people. 

"how did you manage to keep her hidden Clara". she said, feeling the urge to cry. 

"I had masked her scent with mud and kept her in a room at the backyard, the guards didn't think of going there". she explained. 

"Oh Clara, I'm so sorry, all this is happening because of me, many innocent lives are being lost because of me". she replied, sobbing quietly. 

"no luna, don't say that, I'm sure you did the right thing, there's definitely something about that old lady, there's got to be a connection between her and the alpha, or else why would he go to this extent just because of one lady, and I'm sure if this is something good, those wolf's would definitely lay down their lives for you luna, luna, I will lay down my life for you". Clara said and Linda could do nothing but stare at her. 

"what have I ever done to deserve your loyalty Clara".

"luna, you've done so much for me, and not just me, everyone in the pack, you've helped me and gave me an identity the moment you knew I was an orphan, you saw great potentials in me, whereby others saw a nobody, you made me accept who I truly am, you made me strong luna, I can't say it all, but I'll forever remain loyal to you luna, I owe you my life". Clara said tearfully, she remembered how she's been bullied by most of the pack members just because she has no one, she was called a weakling, all sort of nasty names, but Luna had stopped that, she picked her up from the mud, she trained her, she made her stronger. 

"thank you Clara, I'll forever remain grateful to you".

"It's an honor to serve you Luna". Clara said as they both shared a brief hug, the sound of someone coughing loudly interrupted them. 

"oh, she must be awake". Clara said as they both stood up and went to the room the old lady was being kept. 

"you, you saved me". the old lady said the moment she saw linda. 

She tried getting up but Linda moved to her side in a flash and told her to lie down. 

"you still need to rest ma'am, please lie down". she said, lying the old lady down gently. 

"no, please help me up, I'm sure you have some questions". she replied weakly.

"First tell me, who are you?". 

"My name's Linda, Luna of the shadow moon pack".she said and the woman grasped her hand tightly, staring at her in surprise. 

"y... you're Damien's mate". she said as her eyes began to get wet. 

"Yes ma'am, who are you?". Linda asked confusedly.

"please help me up, there's something you need to know". she whispered and Linda immediately helped her up, sitting beside her on the little bed. 

"I don't understand, what's it? I need to know". she asked calmly and the woman began sobbing really hard. 

Linda glanced at Clara worriedly before taking the old lady's hands in hers. 

"Please calm down, why are you like this?''

"Do you know who I am?". she asked in tears, and Linda shook her head Negatively.

"i... I am".

"I am, Damien's mother''. she said, and both Linda and Clara gasp in shock. 

"what? ". Linda half yelled in disbelief. 

"it's not possible, it can't be, Damien said he has no parents, I don't believe this". she said, getting up from the bed, and the old lady could only sob harder hearing this. 

linda ran her hand through her hair in confusion, and her mind flew to when she first saw the woman In the cell, how she had been surprised at first, she knew she's seen the familiar face before, but she couldn't remember when or where, and then it hit her, she remembered seeing a photo of this woman in Damien's office, and when she's asked him about it, he said it's nobody, the next day, she couldn't find the picture anymore, but how is this possible, how can she be his mother, even if she truly is his mother, why is he keeping her locked up, why treat her like a prisoner, why deny the fact that he has a mother.

"how is this possible, why did he keep you locked up, why did damien lie to me". she voiced out loud, and when the old lady was about to answer, they all heard the sound of someone knocking. 

Linda looked at Clara worriedly. 

"I'll go check who's at the door luna". Clara said. 

"no Clara, I'll go". she said, and Clara nodded her head in agreement. 

Linda heaved a deep sigh before going to check who's at the door, on opening the door, she saw it was one of the pack guards. 

"luna". he bowed. 

"Yes, what's it?". she questioned. 

"the alpha has requested for your presence at home".

"err... It's ok, I'll be there". she replied and made to close the door when he stopped her. 

"Sorry Luna, but I was asked to escort you back". he bowed once more. 

"it's the alpha's orders".

"ok, give me a minute". she replied, shutting the door as she hurried upstairs to meet Clara. 

"Clara, Damien's asking for me". she said to Clara before going to sit beside the old lady. 

"what's your name ma'am". she said, taking her hands in hers. 

"Margret". she smiled.

" hmm, but can I call you mother". she smiled. 

"Of course child, thank you for saving me". she said as she caressed linda's cheek Lovingly. 

"I don't know the whole truth, but I'll be back".

"Of course dear, when next you visit, I'll tell you the whole story and why my own son made me a prisoner".

"I truly need to know the whole truth, but I have to leave now mother". She embraced her briefly. 

"please, take care of her and yourself Clara". she said, getting up from the bed. 

"yes luna". Clara replied, and she smiled before leaving to meet the guard waiting for her.
