"Gwen". Emily's mother screamed as she forcefully pushed Gwen aside. 

The trident ended up piercing deeply into her chest instead of gwen. 

"Mother....". Emily screamed the moment she saw her mother drop to the floor with a loud thud, the trident still in her chest.

Gwen couldn't believe her eyes as she stared at her in shock. 

"foolish woman, you've just ruined my plans". Valerie spat angrily before disappearing. 

"M mother". Emily cried, as she touched her mother's face with trembling hands. 

"n n n no". Gwen stammered in tears, moving to Emily's mother's side. 

"G Gwen". She called out weakly, blood oozing from her mouth. 

"P please, p p pro...". She was saying when she got choked by her own blood, then she coughed out blood. 

"Mother, please, don't do this to me mother". Emily cried, holding onto her mother's hand tightly. 

"I'll always be with you honey". She said, a lone tear slipped down her cheeks. 

"protect my daughter". These were her last words before she vanished in the form of ashes into thin air. 

"mother......". Emily screamed in tears. 

"Emmy''. Gwen called as she quickly hugged her tightly.

"I'm so sorry emmy, it's all my fault, I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry". She cried. 

"mother". Emily whispered before passing out. 

"Emily". Gwen screamed. 

"Emily wake up, please wake up". She cried. 

"why is this happening". She screamed.

Gwen brought Emily to her home, she cleaned her up and kept her in one of the guest rooms, Lance was still fast asleep, and now, she sat alone in the living room, weeping over what happened. 

"why, why does it have to be like this". She whispered in tears. 

"it's all my fault, I caused her death, I killed her". She sobbed as she slapped herself hard across the face. 

"I should have been the one, not her, why does it have to be like this, why, why". She said, slapping herself once more. 

"I deserve to be punished for this, I deserve to be punished". She cried, hitting herself repeatedly. 

Up in the sky, the moon goddess watched in tears at her daughter's present state, she shouldn't be blaming herself like this, this was never her fault at all, none of what's happened is her fault, this is all destiny, and now, she needs to make her see and understand that. 

Gwen was still crying and blaming herself, then suddenly, she felt someone hand on her shoulder, she was startled by this, slowly, she raised her head up to see her mother. 

"mom". She called in tears as she quickly stood up to embrace her mother. 

"mom". She cried out. 

"shhh......, it's okay, it's all gonna be okay". She said, Patting her back in a comforting manner. 

"no mother, nothing's gonna be okay, I killed her, I'm the cause of her death, I've made Emily an orphan, I've taken away the only parent she has left, she's dead because of me, nothing's gonna be okay mother, I should have been the one to die, not her". She cried. 

"it's all my fault, it's all my fault".

"honey, please don't talk like that, don't say that honey, none of this is your fault, all that's happened isn't your fault at all". She said, and immediately, Gwen pulled away from the hug. 

"no mother, it's my fault, I was the reason they got abducted in the first place, and you know what else". She sniffed. 

"when I cleaned emmy up, I saw lots of cuts and bruises on her body, she must have been tortured real bad, all because of what? ".

"all because of me, I caused those marks on her body, I might have healed them up with my magic, but the memories and pain is something I can't heal with magic".

"and what else?, the trident was meant to kill me, but no, it didn't take my life, it took someone else's life, and why is she dead now, all because of me, why did Valerie abduct them in the first place?, it was because of me, why did she torture emmy?, I was the reason, why is her mother dead?, I am the cause of that". She yelled. 

"So mother, you see, it's all my fault, I'm the reason all this happened, I'm the reason she's dead, she doesn't deserve to die, this is a fight she knows nothing of, she doesn't deserve to die because of me". She sobbed, then she turned her back at her mother. 

"Gwen, you can't blame yourself like this, like I said before, none of this is your fault, and do you think your death would end everything?".

"No my child, your death would have been the beginning of destruction, Valerie won't stop her evil deeds even after your death, only you can stop all this, and you can't do that when you are dead".

"only you have the power to end Valerie and give a new light to the people, for you to achieve all these, many would give up their lives for yours, it wasn't your fault that emily's mother is gone, it's all destiny, she's one of the people who have to sacrifice their life for yours, for the new world you would create".

"if you want an end to this, then you need to be strong, many have given up their lives for yours, do this for them, only you can stop Valerie and end all this once and for all".

"child". She called, turning Gwen to face her. 

"dry your tears, you need to be strong, don't give up now, this isn't the end". She said with a smile. 

"oh mother". She said as she quickly embraced her mother. 

"what will I ever do without you".

"a lot of things, you would achieve a lot even without me, my daughter is a fighter, a survivor, and I know you're strong".

"thank you mother, I won't give up, I won't stop until I exact my revenge on Valerie, I'll never give up mother". She said with great determination. 

"that's my daughter". The moon goddess smiled.

"and do not worry, I'm always with you".

"Gwen". They both heard someone call. 

They turned to see Emily descending the stairs. 

Emily had her eyes open the moment she got to where they stood, she was stunned by the beauty of the other woman who looks like an older version of Gwen, just that her hair was black, but she was very beautiful. 

"emmy, you're awake, meet my mom". Gwen introduced with a bright smile on her face. 

"your mother? ". Emily muttered, still looking at the moon goddess. 

"Emily, I'm so sorry about your mother my dear, but I want you to know that this isn't the end, a bright future awaits you". She said, hugging her briefly. 

"thank you very much". Emily said, feeling the urge to cry. 

"I'll leave you with Gwen now, and one more thing". She smiled. 

"a surprise awaits you". She said, kissed Emily's forehead then she turned to wink at Gwen before disappearing. 

"woah". Emily half yelled. 

"what was that".

"that was my mother".

"err, emmy". Gwen called nervously. 

"I want to say.......".

"no gwen, I know what you're about to say, and I know you must be blaming yourself for what's happened, but it's none of your fault, mother has always seen you like her own daughter too, I'm not angry, she gave her life for yours, she died for a good cause, and I know you won't let her death be in vain".

"Emmy". Gwen said, hugging her immediately. 

"I'll definitely make that witch pay for this, I promise you that".

Emily hugged Gwen back, sobbing on her shoulder, they stayed this way till Emily was calm. 

"I guess I should stop crying now, mother won't be happy about this". She said with a sad smile as she withdrew from the hug. 

"and yes, there's so much to tell me about, I want to know everything now, and look at your hair and eyes, what's happened to you, tell me about your mother also, there's something about her". Emily said while Gwen giggled. 

"of course, let's sit and I'll tell you everything".

well, this was a good thing, but don't think Emily has gotten over her pain and grief, this would take a long time to heal, she would never be able to forget what's happened, it will forever remain in her memory, s he doesn't want gwen to feel bad about herself,so she needs to keep up the act of being okay, but deep down, she still mourns for her mother's death. 

but she knows one thing is for sure, her mother's death would definitely be avenged, the one who killed her mother would definitely pay, and this thought alone. 

brings her peace.

Valerie could be seen destroying everything in their bedroom, she was filled with rage that her plans were ruined. 

"Aaaaa.....". She screamed as she threw a vase to the wall. 

"damn that useless woman". She yelled. 

"oh my shit". Damien yelled the moment he stepped into the room. 

"what's all this".

"my plan was ruined". Valerie yelled. 

"what plan baby". Damien asked confusedly. 

"the plan we had to kill that foolish Gwen once and for all". She groaned out. 

"what happened, didn't she take the bait".

"of course she took it, but right at the last moment when I threw the trident at her, that useless human took the hit". She said in anger. 

"shit". Damien growled. 

"she would have been dead had that foolish mortal not taken the hit, and now she's the one dead instead of gwen".

"aaaaaaa.........". She screamed 

"calm down baby, you should know this isn't the end, this might not have gone as planned,but there's still another plan". Damien smirked. 

Valerie quickly turned to him with full attention. 

"what". She questioned with a raised eyebrow. 

"we'll have to speed up the war, we'll take them unaware, tomorrow, at sunset, we'll attack the pack and they won't be prepared for this". He laughed wickedly. 

"they wouldn't even see this coming, then I can destroy my dear little brother once and for all, you'll take care of his mate". He smirked. 

"oh wow, brilliant baby". Valerie giggled as she kissed him. 

"an unexpected attack, this is brilliant". She giggled. 

"Ok Gwen, let's see how you'll manage to escape this time, there will be no one to save you from me, and I've got just the right plan for your death". She thought.
