Chapter 170 Someone Is Watching Them
Su Yi had never stayed for dinner at Su Jiuyue's place before. Hearing her say that, she was a little bit excited.
"Yes, I'll stay for dinner with you today. You are really a good wife. They say that a wife should bring her husband prestige and good food. They must be talking about you?"
Su Jiuyue, who was always thin-skinned, was a little embarrassed by her compliment. She put the handmade baked red bean pastry in front of Su Yi and said in a bad tone, " How do you know? You haven't even started eating yet, and you're already praising me? Have some pieces of red bean pastry first to stop you from talking, in case others laugh at you."
Su Yi was confident in Su Jiuyue and happily picked up a piece of red bean pastry, "Of course. You are better than me anyway. Last year, my Daddy had a birthday party. He wanted me to make him a bowl of
 noodles for his birthday. But I couldn't do it. At last, the cook lady helped me to make the noodles."
She didn't even know how to use the needle. How could she be able to cook?
Su Jiuyue laughed and comforted her, "You will find your own talent and field. Although you are not good at cooking, you are much better than me in other aspects."
Looking at her smiling face, as beautiful as a delicate flower, Su Yi couldn't help but reach out her other hand and pinch Su Jiuyue's cheek, "Not bad, Jiuyue. You actually know about the talent and field."
Su Jiuyue just said it casually. She explained shyly, "I heard it earlier when Xiyuan was reading."
Su Yi turned around and saw Wu Xiyuan's doting smile at Su Jiuyue.
She couldn't help but tsk, wondering if her decision to stay for dinner was right or wrong.
Wasn't she interrupting someone's lovey-dovey time?
After the meal, Su Jiuyue measured Su Yi's length, so that she could use it when making the wedding dress for her.
Su Yi let her do whatever she wanted. After Su Jiuyue wrote down the number, Su Yi made her farewell.
It was already 5:00 p.m. by then. However, she had her father's personal guards with her, so she was not afraid to go back late.
Xia He helped Su Yi get into the carriage, but she felt that something was not quite right behind her.
When she got into the carriage, she took a glance toward the darkness without moving, and her heart was suddenly filled with doubts.
She held back from speaking until the carriage left the boundary of Niutou Town, and only then did she whisper to Su Yi about her discovery.
"Miss, I found that someone seems to be watching Miss Jiuyue and her family in the dark."
Xia He had been with Su Yi for several years. Although she had always done the work of a handmaid, she had actually been hired by Su Zhuang with good money to protect his precious daughter.
Xia He was eight years older than Su Yi. And in her eyes, Su Yi was like her own younger sister.
Even after she had saved enough money for her retirement, she was reluctant to leave.

"Someone is secretly spying on Jiuyue? What's going on? They are just ordinary people. Could it be that they have offended someone?" Su Yi subconsciously thought it was a civil dispute.

"But who would send such an expert to watch two ordinary people?"

Su Yi was sitting in the carriage with her eyes closed taking a nap when she heard the coachman outside knocking gently on the carriage door and saying, "Miss, the general himself is here to pick you up!"
Su Yi was so dazed and confused that she didn't hear it clearly. When Xia He said it again, she lifted the curtain and took a look outside, "It's already dark outside, no wonder Daddy is in a hurry."
While she was talking, Su Zhuang, on his horse, had already arrived in front of Su Yi's carriage, "Yi!"
Su Yi poked her head out of the carriage and called out happily to him. However, Su Zhuang interrupted, "Go back to the carriage. It's cold outside. Be careful of catching a cold!
Su Yi knew that her father was concerned about her, but she still muttered, "How could I be so delicate?"
Even so, she lowered the curtain and sat back into the carriage.
There were many people coming in and out of the city gate, but Su Zhuang's face was a golden passport. No one dared to check their carriage, so they were let through.
When they got home, Su Yi jumped off the carriage and rushed to Su Zhuang's side, "Daddy, I have something important to say to you."
Su Zhuang took a look at her hand tugging on his sleeve and asked, "What is it?"
Su Yi looked around. Although the people around were their own, she still felt a little insecure, so she said, "It's important, Daddy, let's go to the study."
The study was the place where Su Zhuang spent most of his time. Although he was a military general, the official business he had to deal with here was much more important than military training.
The room was warm because of the floor heating device. As soon as she entered, Su Yi took off the hood.
Su Zhuang poured a cup of hot tea and handed it to her, "Now you can talk, right?"
In the winter, it was usual for people to be thirsty. Su Yi held the cup and gulped the tea. And then, she said slowly, "Daddy, there seems to be someone at Jiuyue's house watching them."
Su Zhuang raised his eyebrows without surprise, "They are just ordinary people. Maybe there is some conflict between neighbors? It's just a small fight, we don't have to ask about everything."
Su Yi immediately shook her head, "Daddy, it's not what you think. Xia He said that the person watching them was a first-class expert."
Su Zhuang's eyes fell on Xia He, "A first-class expert? How is that expert compared to Qingmu?"
Qingmu was his personal guard who had excellent sword skills and was very much favored by Su Zhuang.
Xia He hesitated for a moment and then cautiously said, "If they fight each other, he may not be a match for Master Qingmu.  But, in terms of his concealment skills, he should be above Master Qingmu."
She paused for a moment and then continued, "I am ashamed to say that it was only by luck I was able to discover his whereabouts today."
Who would spend so much money to keep an eye on an insignificant person?
Su Zhuang also quickly realized the unusual aspects of this. His brows were furrowed together. But he kept comforting his daughter, "Don't panic, Ada has been stationed in Niutou Town recently. Wait for me to ask him and maybe there will be a clue."
Su Yi also worried about the safety of her good friend and begged, "Daddy, why don't you send someone to protect them? I'm worried... I'm worried..."
She couldn't say what she was worried about. But as her father, Su Zhuang understood.
