Chapter 141 A Tough Life Too

Chapter 141 A Tough Life Too
Su Jiuyue brought back a lot of meat and some buckwheat noodles, then she cooked noodles with minced pork for each of her siblings who enjoyed the meal a lot.
Maomao praised while eating, "It's good to have a big sister around because I won't starve."
Su Wuyue nodded with agreement and then looked at Su Jiuyue with a pathetic look, "Big sister, could you stay?"
Before Su Jiuyue made a response, Wu Xiyuan already looked up at them and said, "No! Your big sister is my wife! She has to go home with me."
Honestly, Su Jiuyue preferred to be in the Wu family. Since she could live a very comfortable life, how could it be possible for her to accept such a miserable life?
Su Wuyue, a young kid, pursed her lips and cried when she saw someone wanted to grab her sister.
Su Wuyue's cry bothered Su Jiuyue who later spent a long time comforting her. Afterwards, Su Jiuyue went to the kitchen to decoct some medicinal herbs and asked her father to keep an eye on it while she turned around and went to Jiang's house.
Jiang Chunxi had been waiting for her for a while, and when she saw her coming, she rushed out of the house, knowing that Su Jiuyue should have already taken care of the household affairs.
"Jiuyue! Finally, you come. I have a lot of things to tell you!"
Hearing Su Jiuyue's voice, Jiang Chunxi's mother also came out from the main room and said, "I haven't seen you for a long time. You look even better than before and look like a fairy now!"
Su Jiuyue lowered her head in embarrassment, "I'm flattered. Pretty doesn't make sense since we all have one nose and two eyes."
Jiang Chunxi, a little shorter than her, hugged her and leaned on her shoulder, saying, "But yours look better than others'!"
Seeing Su Jiuyue blushing, Jiang Chunxi's mother smiled and said, "You two little girls haven't seen each other for a long time, so you may have a lot to share. Xi'er, talk to Jiuyue inside the room, and I will go and make some sugar water for you."
Without formality, Jiang Chunxi held Su Jiuyue by the hand and took her to her own room.
Jiang Chunxi's room had a southern exposure. The sun was just shining through the window and lighting up the room.
When she was young, Su Jiuyue was very envious of Jiang Chunxi's room. She dreamed of having a room of her own, where she could bask in the warm sunshine during the day.
Due to many siblings and few rooms, she couldn't scramble with her siblings.
Now she was a member of the Wu family. Although Wu Xiyuan shared a room with her, the light in that room was also perfect, satisfying Su Jiuyue a lot.
Su Jiuyue sat down on a chair, on which there was a pad that was thickly stuffed with cotton. Su Jiuyue felt it was quite soft.
Jiang Chunxi took her hand and asked: "How have you been these days? I was too embarrassed to ask, but now we are the only two left. You should tell me honestly. I've heard that you married a fool? Is it true?"
Su Jiuyue looked straight into her inquiring eyes and nodded slowly, "Yes, Xiyuan was hurt on the head. But don't worry, the doctor said he will recover."
Jiang Chunxi frowned immediately when she heard the former part, and then slowly breathed a sigh of relief when she heard the latter part.
"Isn't the man who used to live at the entrance of our village a fool? He's dirty all day long. He couldn't even take care of himself. I'm afraid you'll have to live with someone like that in the rest of your life. However, I think your man is not bad. I hope he gets better soon. Your happy time for the rest of your life should come."
Su Jiuyue knew that Jiang Chunxi did not dislike Wu Xiyuan, but was simply worried about her future life.

Then she softly explained, "He is not stupid, but has brain damage and loses a part of memory. So he behaves like a child for now. Apart from that, he's quite good and is sincere to me. Don't worry, I'm already enjoying my happy time."
Jiang Chunxi patted her left hand back gently and sighed, "Fate makes fools of you! If only you had married my eldest brother previously. I think my eldest brother likes you too."
Hearing that, Su Jiuyue knew that although aunt Jiang was kind to her, she didn't accept that her daughter-in-law was Su Jiuyue.
Or perhaps she was not dissatisfied with her, but dissatisfied with her parents' family. Aunt Jiang felt that relatives by marriage like this would be a huge burden on the rest of her son's life.
Although Su Jiuyue was young, she was sensible about these matters, and she had never expected to be her daughter-in-law.
Since others didn't take her as the choice of daughter-in-law, there was no need for her to pursue it which could pester two families.
Therefore, as soon as Su Jiuyue heard this, she immediately put on a solemn face, "Sister Xi, if you say that again, I won't come and play with you again."
When Jiang Chunxi saw that Su Jiuyue seemed to be really angry, she hurriedly apologized sincerely.
"My good sister, forgive me this time. I won't say it again."
Hearing this, Su Jiuyue chose to let it go and then asked, "Why didn't I see brother Jiang this time?"
When Jiang Chunxi heard this, she frowned again and answered, "Did you hear that Yongzhou City was catching males a few days ago?"
Su Jiuyue nodded, "I did. Xiyuan's cousin was caught as well. Is brother Jiang caught too?"
Jiang Chunxi shook her head,"Not exactly. What is more annoying than this is that he was recruited voluntarily. At that time, my mom was crying and begging him, but he still sneaked away by himself at night."
Now that he had gone away, Su Jiuyue could only comfort Jiang Chunxi.
"Don't worry, brother Jiang knows some kung fu, and maybe he will come back with some fame, then you will be a lady of the official family. At that time, I am afraid matchmakers will stream to your house."
Saying this, Su Jiuyue pretended to sigh sadly, "As for me! I'm afraid I've already been forgotten by you."
Jiang Chunxi feinted to beat her, "Stop talking nonsense! Stop it! How come you speak more rashly after you're married."
...
Later, they two went on their talk for a while. Because the time for dinner got closer, Su Jiuyue didn't stay long and went back to her own home.
Considering that her mother was still sick and her siblings were not old enough to cook by themselves, Su Jiuyue asked someone else to send some messages to her mother-in-law that she would stay in her parent's house for another few days.
Three days later, it was the twenty-seventh day of the twelfth lunar month, signifying the lunar New year was approaching. Till then, Zhang's condition finally improved.
Su Jiuyue finally felt her pulse and then said: "Mom, you should take the rest of the medicine on time, and I gave dad some money for firewood several days ago.I hope you all could have a good New Year. I've talked to dad and he will go to the town to find a job after the Chinese New Year's day. Our life will be better and better."
Zhang nodded, teary-eyed. Su Jiuyue couldn't help but warn, "You are so sick this time, but uncle doesn't come to see you even if I have sent words to him. From this, he doesn't value you, his sister. When you have spare money, you should keep it for yourself first. Don't always be like a living god and consent to all requests. My life is also tough in my husband's family. The money I got back this time was the lucky money given by my mother-in-law in advance. Therefore, I'm afraid I really don't have much left to subsidize you all."
Su Jiuyue complained plaintively to her mother, trying to tell her mother how poor she was. Zhang sank in thought after her daughter's words.
