Chapter 66 What an Unlucky Visit
Noticing that the water had boiled, Tian Xiuniang got a basin of it and left in a hurry. She was unwilling to be with them in a room. It was shameful to flirt all the time.
Ignoring the bit of envy in her mind, she strode toward the room in the west, "Mom, hot water is ready!"
When Su Jiuyue took the ginger tea to the room, Huang Husheng had woken up. Looking at the people in the room, he realized that he had been saved.
"Mom, I made some ginger tea. Let Master Huang drink it first. It can make his body warmer."
Liu Cuihua took it and waited for Huang Husheng to drink it. She handed the empty bowl to Su Jiuyue and asked, "Master Huang, what had happened? Why did you faint out on the road?"
Hearing her questions, Huang Husheng became upset. He wiped his tears and cried about what had happened angrily.
Last night, a group of displaced people swarmed into his house, robbed his food, and burned his house.
He was being chased in panic. It's hard to find ways last night, so he stepped beyond the solid ground and rolled down from the hill.
He didn't know what happened after that.
Su Jiuyue was shocked, "Master Huang, did you set a porridge hut outside for those people?"
Su Jiuyue was too young to understand the complexity of human nature that sometimes kind people wouldn't get the kind reward.
Huang Husheng was even more upset when it came to the porridge hut. He, a man over fifty, even cried in front of those people.
"I gave them food with good intentions, but I couldn't believe that I should be their target! Those people robbed my house because they knew that I had food!"
"How miserable I was!"
His sadness moved all the people in the room.
Su Jiuyue sighed and was inwardly thankful that nobody knew they bought food.
Master Huang's encounter was a lesson for them!
Liu Cuihua handed him a handkerchief and asked, "Is there anybody in the house?"
They didn't meet Master Huang's family when they went to seek medical treatment. However, no one had been to his backyard, so they didn't know whether there were other people in his family.
It's unlucky if all the family suffered from this accident.
Hearing that, Huang Husheng shook his head, "Not really, I came back alone to pay this visit. My mother, my wife, and my children stayed in the capital city."
Su Jiuyue was puzzled that since his family was in the capital city, he did not need to pay the visit.
However, it was related to his privacy, so she didn't ask the question.
Liu Cuihua understood that she should not pay too much attention to his private affairs, and comforted him, "It's the best out of the worst. Everywhere is in chaos now. Please stay here right now, and tomorrow we will try to contact your family."
Huang Husheng nodded. Thinking of his family in the capital city, he felt much better than before.
Although his house here had been burned out, his wife and children were still safe and sound.
Suddenly something came to Su Jiuyue's mind. She asked him anxiously, "That book..."
She didn't mention the unique copy clearly, but Huang Husheng understood her. He managed to sit up and took a book from his arms.
"Here it is."
Su Jiuyue relieved herself when seeing the book in his hand. He said that this was the only copy in the world. It was a pity to be burned out.
