Chapter 46 There Is Water
Wu family never talked about Wu Xiyuan's grandfather in public, and Su Jiuyue had never heard of it.
"Do you still remember where the grandpa's old yard was?"
Wu Xiyuan nodded, "Yes."
He continued to ask, "Do you want to take a look?"
Su Jiuyue thought of the dream she had last night, dreaming that she was so thirsty and she stumbled into a deserted courtyard where it just so happened that there was a well in the yard, so she used a wooden bucket to fetch a bucket of water.
How could it be such a coincidence?
Wu Xiyuan held Su Jiuyue's hand all the way to his grandfather's yard, which was at the west entrance of the village. Because the terrain there was so low, in the early years when it rained, the yard was full of water. Later Wu Xiyuan's grandfather took his money to build a new house for his son to marry a wife.
Wu Xiyuan only had two aunts who both married to the next village. After all, they were getting older, they just dropped by only at New Year or on other festivals.
When Su Jiuyue stepped into the yard, she felt a strange sense of familiarity. She didn't unfold her tight brows all the way until she stepped on a dried branch suddenly.
This scene here was the same as her previous dream. She immediately let go of Wu Xiyuan's hand and ran towards the well in the yard.
By the light of the sunlight, she could see clearly that there were water waves in it.
Suddenly, one person stood next to her, and happily clapped his hands, shouting, "There is water! There is water!"
Su Jiuyue was taken aback by him, and quickly pulled him back a few steps, dissatisfiedly educating him, "A child can't play by the well! Understand?"
Wu Xiyuan's dark eyes stared at Su Jiuyue seriously, and she could even see her own reflection in his eyes.
Wu Xiyuan then reached out his hand very seriously, drew a straight line from the top of Su Jiuyue's head, then stopped his finger on his chest. He said, "See? I'm so much taller than you, so you're a child, not me!"
Su Jiuyue was speechless, not knowing what to say.
Su thought sometimes height didn't make sense.
"Well, indeed, you're taller than me, but you're still a child, so you should be obedient."
Wu Xiyuan's bulging mouth made him look like a goldfish, although he felt that what she said was wrong, but he temporarily did not know how to refute her.
It even took a while for him to respond, "Then how old are you now?"
Su Jiuyue was born in September, and she had been twelve years old at the end of October.
"Twelve." said Su Jiuyue.
Su's words lit up Wu Xiyuan's eyes. He stretched out his hands and counted his fingers. After a long time, he stood out, talking to Su Jiuyue, "You're twelve but I'm sixteen. I'm four years older than you. So just like what I said before, you're a child, not me."
Su Jiuyue felt happily when seeing Wu Xiyuan could already calculate such simple numbers.
Happy inside though, Su Jiuyue still kept a stern face and fooled him primly, "You should know, sometimes the age doesn't make sense. You're still a child, so you should obey my order and do not play by the well or I will become angry at you."
Wu Xiyuan originally wanted to retort her again, but hearing that she would be angry, he became completely silent.
Su Jiuyue wanted to fetch a bucket of water, but was held back by Wu Xiyuan.
She looked back in surprise and saw that Wu Xiyuan was staring at her with a stubborn look, "you can't go there either!"
Su Jiuyue was lost for words for a while.
"Fine, we come back home and tell this good news to mom."
The two returned home hand in hand. They did not come back home without empty-handed. Although they did not dig many wild vegetables, they still brought back some herbs instead.
As soon as they entered the door, they couldn't wait to excitedly run to central room without putting down the wooden buckets, and they exclaimed, "Mom! Mom! There is water. We found it!"
