Chapter 78 -Epilogue

As his wife pursued their little daughter, Aiden smiled. Squealing, the toddler hid under the table.
"Aiden, please handle your daughter!" Sydney cried as she collapsed on the couch. "She's not listening to me."

Aiden smiled and knelt down, pleading with the small girl to leave the table. The youngster burst out laughing and hugging her father. Aiden kissed the adorable bundle, and his daughter was still almost instantly. With huge green eyes and a grin, she glanced up at her father.

"I don't understand how you do that every time," Sydney mumbled, crossly looking at her happily gurgling daughter. "Angela never listens to me. She is so different from Ethan."

"Not like her brother," Aiden said, pointing to Angela's twin, who was playing on the mat and holding his blanket. Ethan had always been a quiet child. Unlike his sister, he was not a troublemaker.

Sydney grinned and held her hands out for her daughter. She wanted a cuddle. Aiden handed her over, then hugged both Sydney and Angela gently. Little Ethan got up and toddled towards his mother. Wanting to be a part of the group hug as well.
"How about a family hug?" Sydney chuckled as she scooped Ethan up in her arms. He pawed at his sister, attempting to take over his mother's lap. "That's not very pleasant, is it, Ethan?"

Sydney and Aiden split up laughing. Aiden picked up the children from Sydney and placed them on their play mat. It was a Sunday, and they were intending to see Grandpa in the hospital, as was their usual routine. He was in poor health.
Sydney wanted her children to grow up knowing their great-grandfather, and Aiden couldn't agree more. They tried to take the kids to see him as much as possible.
Aiden gazed at his son gently and whispered, "I can't believe it's been two years already."
Sydney quietly replied, following his eyes.

She leant into him with her arm around his waist. "It feels like an eternity."
Aiden smiled as he said, "That was because it was complicated at first."

"Every problem in the book," Sydney agreed, reaching up to caress his cheek with her other hand.

"But we made it," he continued, his gaze falling on his lovely wife.

"We surely did," Sydney responded, beaming. She kissed him tenderly as he lowered his head, feeling loved and safe in his embrace.

Aiden responded eagerly, his hands going around her and holding her tightly to him. Both of them could feel the sparks of lust. Sydney smiled to herself. Even after the twins had been born following a rather complicated pregnancy. Aiden had never stopped loving her body. He loved it. He loved her. These two years had been wonderful.

"Grandpa, mama!" Little Angle reminded them of their visit to Sr Reiner.

Aiden told Sydney, "Later." His words were full of promise, and he kissed the tip of her nose.
Sydney smiled as she walked over to pick up both children.

"Did you see Leah recently?" Aiden inquired.

"No, but I spoke with her two days ago and she is doing well; she has landed a lead role in an upcoming television series. She is overjoyed."

"That's fantastic," Aiden murmured as he and his wife exited the manor, each carrying a toddler. Leah adored the twins, and they both enjoyed her company. Mike received a five-year sentence with the possibility of parole. Sydney paid him visits now and again, having forgiven him for his transgressions over the years.
Sydney often wondered how would Mike cope up with his lost career once out, but that was another worry for another day.
She looked at her husband playing with her children and felt the warm glow of contentment spread through her.
What she and Aiden had here, right now, was something special. It was perfect.
