Chapter 39. Marriage
The day passed until a day before Vega and Alberto's wedding. At night, Alberto had slept earlier than the hour he usually does because he didn't want to wake up late the next day.
The next day, he had to leave the house at five to get ready at Vega's house. Invitation cards had been distributed a few days earlier.
Meanwhile, Vega had not been able to sleep because she was haunted by her fear. Imaginations of divorce, infidelity, and domestic violence appeared in Vega's brain.
She was very afraid that later Alberto would turn into a very bad person for her, like a demon lord. She knows that there are still faithful humans in the world.
But she was afraid that Alberto would be a terrible person to her because he was having an affair with another woman. She didn't know for sure which woman would be Alberto's mistress later.
It could be Lorena or some other woman. But in her imagination, Lorena would be his mistress.
She didn't know why her imagination said that Lorena would be the mistress. She knows that an affair can happen anytime, anywhere, and with anyone.
According to what she knows from the movies, usually a man will have an affair when his wife is old or after she gives birth because her body shape changes and she can't have sex with his husband for 40 days. After that, she looked in the mirror.
The mirror reflected her. For her at that time, she was so beautiful.
"Now I'm beautiful, but I don't know what will happen next? Is he going to have an affair behind me with another woman or not? I'm not sure," Vega groaned inwardly.
What if Alberto had an affair? Will Vega be able to accept reality later? What about Vega's children, if Vega has children from Alberto? These are the issues that Vega considered.
"That's enough! Don't think about it! After all, I'm only having a contract marriage with him. Why do I have to think so hard about it? I never loves him so much." Vega said those calming words in her heart to calm her.
She tried to close her eyes and let herself fall asleep, but she couldn't. Thoughts and feelings of fear that always haunted her.
She felt that Alberto never loves her. Because of that, Alberto can have an affair with another woman later in the future.
This made Vega immediately call Alberto, which disturbed Alberto, who was sleeping. She really wanted to express her fear to Alberto, because she felt that he could calm her panic attack.
Even though he was online at the time, Alberto didn't pick up the call from her. This made Vega keep calling Alberto.
This forced Alberto to wake up. Then, he look to his phone and he saw a notification of a phone call from Vega on his phone.
"What's wrong? "Why does she call me now?" Alberto complained, and he immediately picked up the phone.
After that, he yawned because he felt very sleepy. He waited for Vega to speak first, but he didn't hear Vega's voice for a long time.
"Hello?" said Alberto confusedly.
He made sure someone had called him. Because he was afraid that the call was from an unknown person or that something had happened to Vega,
"Hello, Alberto!" said Vega.
"What's wrong?" Alberto asked about what happened.
"I'm sleepy!" groaned Alberto. Then, Alberto yawned again.
"Alberto, my heart pounded so hard when I thought that we were getting married tomorrow, honey! I'm scared!" Vega expressed her fear.
"Why are you so scared, Honey?" Alberto asked Vega about her fear.
"I'm afraid you'll change later, honey," complained Vega.
Alberto immediately revealed that he would turn out to be old and ugly. However, he will never change when it comes to loving Vega.
"Yes. I'll change later..." Alberto's words were cut off by Vega's words because Vega thought that Alberto would not love Vega again.
"Oh, my god! That's true!" Vega complained sadly. Not long after, Vega cried.
"What do you mean? I don't understand!" Alberto frowned because he was confused and didn't understand the meaning of Vega's sentence.
"Yes, you will change. You will definitely have an affair with another woman!" groaned Vega.
"Who said that?" Alberto was confused, because he didn't say that at all.
"You said that you will change," complained Vega again.
"I mean, I will change later. I will get older and more mature." Alberto explained the meaning of his words.
"Yes. Me too," complained Vega.
"Then what are you afraid of?" Alberto's question made Vega express her feelings.
"I'm just afraid you will have an affair with another woman and leave me," complained Vega.
"Yes, I will indeed leave you because we will be separated after two years of our marriage. That's right? This marriage is just a contract marriage, right?" Alberto made sure because he felt sure they would separate.
Alberto is worried that Vega will fall in love with him and force him to extend the contract, preventing him from marrying and living with Lorena in the future. He really loves Vega, but he also wants to marry Lorena.
Yes, even though Lorena's parents haven't approved of the relationship between Lorena and Alberto, Alberto is sure that he can convince Lorena and make her to get runway marriage or a secret marriage. Alberto never imagine that they will get married for a long time after their contract marriage ends.
If it 's said that his love for Vega is not genuine and that he only wants Vega's money for his life, it may be true because he'll leave Vega after two years and he desperately needs Vega's money. Alberto is in a position where he can't choose between Vega and Lorena. He really wants to get Vega and Lorena at once.
Meanwhile, Alberto's words immediately made Vega realize that she was having a contract marriage with him. She has no right to demand more from Alberto, but somehow her feelings can't change that.
She immediately tried to throw her love feelings away from Alberto, but her heart didn't accept it. She still loves Alberto with all her heart.
It's true what Alberto said. They will separate.
If Vega gets pregnant or Vega becomes ugly after two years, Alberto won't be with Vega anymore and leave the house. After two years, Vega will live alone without Alberto until she dies.
Those were the thoughts Vega had. She imagined it would actually happen in her life.
Alberto will leave her, because their agreement will have ended. After that, she will see Alberto with another woman.
Even just imagining it made her feel so weak until her eyes cried. Moreover, it will actually happen in her life.
She knows very well that it will actually happen in her life. She is certain she wn't be able to survive it.
She immediately wiped away her tears, because after all, she has to be strong. That has been her consequence. After that, she forced herself to smile as she looked into the mirror that reflected her tears.
"Yes. That's right." Vega confirmed Alberto's words.
"Then, what's the problem?" Alberto asked again, because he felt that there's no problem with Vega.
"Yes, I'm just afraid you'll be rude after we get married. You'll be so rude and hard on me," Vega grumbled.
"As I remember, you've written about the rules of contract marriage life in our contract marriage agreement. One of the conditions is that I can't do violence to you. I think these regulations contain the characteristics of household life that you desire. Is that right?" Alberto was sure of that.
So Vega shouldn't have to worry about that. Vega fell silent because she had forgotten the rules that she had written down, except that Alberto had to leave his house after two years of marriage.
"So, what's the problem?" Alberto still didn't understand the problem Vega was having.
Vega was silent for a while. At that moment, Alberto immediately said, "In case you forget it, just look up our contract marriage agreement again and read it again!"
"Okay. I want to find it first." Vega immediately searched the shelf for their contract marriage agreement, which contained vital information.
Not long after, Vega found an agreement. She said it happily. "Honey, I've found the contract marriage agreement."
"Yes, just read it!" Alberto ordered.
Vega read every article of the agreement. Vega felt at ease with every article of the agreement.
"If later, after marriage, I violate one of the contents of the article, just reprimand me and give punishment according to the agreement! I'm sincere." Alberto's words soothed Vega's heart.
"So, now what's the problem?" Alberto asked again.
"Yes. You're right. There's no problem." Vega just realized that, actually, there's no problem.
Vega's tone made Alberto feel unsure if there really wasn't a problem anymore. Therefore, he inquired about Vega's belief in it. "Are you sure? Is there nothing you're afraid of anymore?"
"I'm afraid tomorrow our marriage will fail. I'm afraid I won't be able to perform optimally tomorrow. I'm also nervous because it's my first marriage," complained Vega.
"Don't think about it! Tomorrow will be okay!" Alberto tried to calm Vega down.
"How can I be sure? It's my first experience. I'm afraid that I'll fail tomorrow, Alberto," complained Vega again.
"Actually, I also feel the same way, but you have to remember, Vega. We will do it and pass it together. So, don't be afraid anymore! I'm on your side. I will accompany you through the process tomorrow," Alberto advised and Vega heard it.
"Okay?" Alberto confirmed.
"Okay." Vega nodded her head.
"Thank you for accompanying me and calming me down! Thank you for taking time out tonight! Thank you for your kindness!" Vega immediately thanked him.
"Sorry for interrupting your time tonight!" Vega immediately apologized.
"Just relax! That's my task as your husband, Vega." Alberto tried to make Vega not feel bad for him.
"Okay! Now, let's sleep! We must get ready early tomorrow morning and head to the Greenhouse Shire!" Alberto immediately invited Vega to sleep.
"Okay, Honey. Have a nice dream! Goodnight!" said Vega.
"Have a nice dream too! Goodnight!" Alberto replied.
The next morning, very early, Alberto got up and got ready. He wore a black suit, a white shirt, and black trousers.
After that, he went straight to Vega's house on his motorcycle. Arriving at Vega's house, Vega was waiting in front of the house. Then Alberto parked his motorcycle.
After that, Vega immediately greeted Alberto and invited him to enter. "Please, come in!"
Then, they entered Vega's room, which became the dressing room. They dress up for their wedding.
After Alberto got dressed, Vega immediately straightened Alberto's hair and made him look better. Then, they went to City Hall.
They made their vows at City Hall. After that, they went to the Greenhouse Shire for the wedding.
The wedding party was very lively and luxurious. The guests really enjoyed the party that day.
The guests congratulated Alberto and Vega. on their marriage. Not a few of them also praised the beauty of Vega.
"It's true what I said last night, Honey! Everything will be fine!" said Alberto as he grabbed Vega's hand.
"Yes." Vega nodded her head and she smiled.
"That's true." Vega looked at Alberto and she held his hand.
"I didn't think that the party will run so smoothly, so luxuriously, and so grandly like this," said Vega.
"Me too." After that, they kissed each other's lips gently. The guests who saw this were delighted.
