When Erin spotted Nathan in the foyer, Nathan locked his cold glare on her, then continued going, leaving her confused.
She shook her head as she looked at Nathan's back, her lips split slightly, and she frowned because it appeared like he was extremely upset with her, and she was obstinate and didn't want to talk about something in order for their relationship to be fixed right away.
As she opened the door to her room and took her important documents, including a divorce paper agreement, she said "No way...fine it's if he doesn't want to talk to me! I'd rather not talk to him..."
When she viewed the divorce agreement, she gulped her tongue because all she needed was Nathan's signature to be free on her own. But the real question is will she be able to live without the man she has loved her entire life and the father of the baby in her womb?
When she saw a maid enter her room, she frowned and asked softly,
"What are you doing here?"
"Ms. Erin, sorry to bother you," the younger maid replied nicely, both hands in her back, "But Mr. Velasco said that you can leave the house when you're done with your other things."
"Is he rushing?" Erin asks the young maid a question and her tone of voice is irritated.
"I'm not sure, Ms. Erin...He was doing something like paperwork in his office."
Erin looked down at the divorce papers in her hand, stifling her rage at Nathan, who is evicting her from this house as if she were nothing to him. "You stay out of it, kid," she said as she walked out of her room, and the young maid obeyed.
She didn't knock on Nathan's door anymore, and she immediately opened it; as soon as she's inside, their gazes meet, and her breathing becomes heavy, even though she admits that Nathan's presence didn't affect her overall feelings, but it did affect her. She came to a halt, still holding the important document in her hand, and she wondered if Nathan was angry with her as well and if they would be separated forever today.
"What are you doing here?..."Nathan asked her, but his gaze was fixed on the computer, where he was typing his work, and Erin simply gazed at Nathan for a few moments, furious that Nathan didn't even want to look at her, especially when she was bored. She concluded that he might no longer love her and had grown tired of her.
"You'd better leave, Erin, if you just stand there and stare at me all the time..." Nathan stated coldly and their eyes met again but he's the one who broke it off.
Erin cursed the situation, saying, "Damn it..."
"Erin, be careful what you say; when did you learn to speak that way?" Nathan stood up and removed his spectacles before returning his gaze to her.
"Damn it...you, damn you! You are a jerk! You keep hurting me emotionally…I am so jealous when there's that new girl kissing you!"Erin finally spoke, which made her feel better. She exhaled and took a deep breath in and out in front of Nathan, who was staring at her intently.
"Erin, calm down, I'm not buying it...what do you have in your hand?" Nathan groaned and looked at her hand, which held a piece of paper. Then she raised her eyebrow as she raised the piece of paper then held her breath before replying to Nathan's question.
"Ah, what is this? Sign a divorce agreement, and you're done! Stop making my life a misery, stop hurting me...and I will not care anymore if you have a new girlfriend, family, or wife! Simply sign the document! Please sign it, I beg you!" Erin exclaimed and lowered her head thinking that if she makes things right or she will end up regretting it later?
"All right, give me the paper..." Nathan murmured, his blue eyes wide with surprise then extended his hand to get the paper on Erin's hand.
"Erin, please give me the document..." Erin is just standing there staring at Nathan's unpleasant expression, so Nathan repeated his word.
Her heart skipped a beat as she bit her bottom lip, thinking that perhaps this is the day when they will split up and her future baby will never see her father again. She handed Nathan the divorce agreement paper gently and looked up at the ceiling, trying to hold back the tears she had suppressed earlier.
"If this is the last time we see each other before we become strangers, please know that I forgive you...and thank you for making my life both happy and sad," Erin murmured, her voice cracking, and she looked up at Nathan, she sees the smirk on his lips and cupped her face saying,
"Do you really think I will sign this trash document? You are wrong, Erin...."
Nathan's soft and passionate lips pressed against hers, and it widened her eyelids by surprise.
