Desiree's POV
I'm currently at my sister's house, where she's grilling barbecue pork outside her garden gate and some of her neighbor's kids are eating some of her food. She's almost ready to be a wife now. It makes me glad to see children enjoying their food while they play.
They are so carefree, have no pain, and simply play and have fun together.
"Do you remember how fun it is that time flies? It's like, I remember from yesterday when we were just kids, having fun and being enemies over one doll that you think is pretty and I think isn't pretty, that was the only problem we had, but look at us now, we are old and grown-ups facing the realities of life."
My sister smiles as she places her belongings on the table. "Is there anything I need to know about you?" she asks as she walks me to the empty seat. What exactly is going on? Is Alexander causing you any more pain? When I see that person again, I swear to God, I'm going to beat him." Patricia remarked as she throws a fist in the air, I laugh at her reaction and I shake my head, "No, he is okay but we are not fine. I didn't listen to him again, maybe the problem is me, I never listen to him."
"Yeah… Take it easy, it's still hot, you need to eat that," Patricia said as she handed me a slice of barbecue pork. "From now on, we must concentrate on the lighter side of life and consider the positive aspects of it. So, if your child is a girl, what's her name?"
"If my baby is a girl, I want to call her…" I think about names but I can't think of one.
"Maybe your baby is a boy because you can't think of the name of a girl. So what do you have in mind?" she asked.
"I want to call him Eve. it's simple yet it's beautiful to hear it and if it's a boy, it would be Alexander's decision, how about you?"
"Well, if we know about the gender now, it's Alexa. The name is kind of a strong woman when she grows up." Patricia muttered and smile at me while chewing at her food.
We heard 2 cars just arrived, Donovan's parents arrived and I saw the smile on my sister's face when she see her future husband.
"How lucky you are…" I whispered to her ear and she blushed.
"Hello, I'm Magda, and it is so nice to meet you pretty ladies…and my son's fiance." Magda just greeted Patricia with a warm hug and she hug me too.
"Thank you for the warm welcome…" Patricia said, "This is my sister, Desiree."
"Oh hi, you are so pretty, I think your face looks so familiar. I think I saw you from somewhere." Magda said, "Oh never mind, I don't remember it…" She said with a smile.
"Hi ladies, I'm John, the father of the man here…Donovan." He is referring to his son, "I am happy to finally meet the girl who just captivated the heart of my son. You are doing a great job, Miss Patricia." she winked at Patricia and me, I chuckles because the father is too funny.
"I have to go to the kitchen…" I said.
"No, dad and mom will be here too."
"Huh? Why? I'm sorry, I get it…Yeah, mom and dad will meet Magna and John. I am happy for you sister, everything is settled with you, I think the universe hears all your wishes, you are marrying the man that you love, and the inlaws that I am sure who is going to take care of you and loves you for who you are. They are so nice and so kind to you…" I smile warmly but deep inside I feel sad because I don't see Alexander today and I am not getting along with his family.
"Thank you sister, I really dreamed of this moment." she said, "And to your moment." She added and her eyes twinkled, I know something is going on because another car just arrived and I see her parents of Alexander had just gotten out of their car and waving at me happily.
"I don't think…I don't know why they are here? Did you invite them? Ah, because they are the relatives of Donovan's parents?" I pretend that I am not assuming things so I am asking questions to my sister. "Hey, are you listening to me?"
She is smiling at me while shaking my hand happily, "Oh my god, I am going to cry now…" She said.
"What is going on? I…I don't understand?"
While Mister and Mrs. Hendersons are on their approach to greet me, I am nervous and my hands are quivering because this is the first time I see them with those lovely grins.
Then I glance at the entrance again when theres a car that approaching and its my father car, I am sure mom is smiling widely now because I don't understand a thing.
"Why everyone is here?" I ask my sister again.
"Because they wnat to witness the beautiful day…"
"Like cooking barbecue pork outside your house?" I said and chuckles nervously.
"Just wait for a while…" Patricia said and greet Alexander's Parents with a hug and some kisses on the cheek.
They greeted me also and hugged me warmly. I am confused, what kind of day is it? This is a party?
"Mom…" I said when my mom is approaching and I stare at her beautiful knee dress.
"Oh wow, you look stunning. You didn't tell me that today we are joining a party." I said while smiling.
Then another car arrived, I stare at the man who just slowly open the door of his car and get out of his car so softly and with poise.
"Alexander?" when our gaze met, I gulped because he is staring at me again with those warm and beautiful eyes that can make my heart jump in excitement.
"What are you doing here?" That is the question that comes to mind and which I ask him in front of a group of people.
Oh no, I asked the wrong question.
