"That's why you need to leave from your work or he'll do the same to you," Alexander explained.
"Alexander, you don't have the right to tell me that, I love my job."
"But he is dangerous to you!" Alexander exclaimed and he stare at me, he wants me to believe him. I sighed and bit my lower lip and go back to him to ask a silly question, "He or you? Is he different from you?" I ask him and scoffed, I walked inside my house and I can hear his heavy sigh, he is so stressed about me. I can feel it.
"Why are you so obstinate? I was only trying to keep you safe from him." I don't want to be in the position where I have to regret not protecting you when the time comes. Desiree, you are important to me." he said while breathing heavily like he let go of those words for a very long time of keeping.
"I…I don't know."
My heart skip a beat while his words are trying to replay in my mind, my eyes start to wet and I find myself sobbing, I don't know why I'm crying but I am not hurt, I am happy to hear those words from him.
"Oh, damn…why are you crying?" he asked me, his eyes are full of worry and he held my both arms and he pulled me for a hug.
"I will always protect you, no matter what happens, so please you need to listen to me."
I suddenly nod my head and close my eyes, I just sulked my head on his chest while he is embracing me tightly.
"Then you need to me what I need to do first how I can convince him that I am going to resign next week."
"You don't need to wait next week, you can do that by tomorrow," he said.
"Alright…I consider it, but I'm concerned about how I'll inform George of the cause for my abrupt resignation?" I look into his eyes and he smiles at me, "You don't have to explain since I'm sure he already knows, but you must phone me if he does something bad to you. I'll come to your rescue."
"I'm scared…"
"You don't have to. I am always here for you."
I was about to kiss him but my phone abruptly rings and it was Evon, "Hello, Evon?"
"H-help me…" she is crying on the other line and she sounds so scared.
"What happened to you? Where are you and I am going to go there to take you."
"No, you can't. He threaten my life, I am so hopeless now, nobody is going to love me because of what he did to me." Evon sobbed continuously and I can't help but feel angered for who is this man.
"Tell me where are you?"
"I-" The line suddenly cut and I can't hear from her,
Alexander stare at my face, "What happen?"
"It's Evon, she told me that she needs help."
"Who's Evon?"
"My co-worker."
"Okay, Do you know where she lives?" Alexander ask me and he turn on his phone to call his men to look for Evon.
"What is her last name?"
"It's Roseheart…" I gulped, I am thinking of what really happened to Evon, she sounds so scared and crying for help. "I hope she is going to be fine."
"Don't worry, my men are going to find her," Alexander said and embrace me again, then he lay me on my bed and he close the open window.
"From now on, you need to be careful."
"I don't have any idea what's happening, George seemed so nice and friendly and I like him for being like that but I can't believe he just change into a monster."
"Because you don't know him, Desiree. You don't know what he is capable of. If I'm a bad person to you, then he is more dangerous than me. He can kill a person with his own hands if he wants to." Alexander explain. "He did that to my colleague, he can't accept that James was better than him so he kill him in front of me. We were a teenager at that time, the judge pardons him because his parents pay the judge, I want him to be in jail but I was a teenager that time, I have no power and connections." Alexander continued and his face is full of anger like he wants to kill someone, someone like George.
I gulped and I tried to calm him down, "That's why I don't want that to happen to you, I don't want him to take you away from me." he said and stare at my face, I caressed his face and I close my eyes while kissing his lips softly. I want to thank him for protecting me after all this time.
