Desiree's POV
My head is full of problems as I walk; I'm not sure where I'm going because none of my friends can pick up the phone to help me; they're all on fancy vacations while I'm fighting to live my life.
I take a deep breath and dial the number provided by Mister Alexander Roberts; I have no choice but to do so in order to pull my family out of poverty.
I called him twice; the first time he didn't respond and the second time he had already picked up the phone, and when I turned around, he was staring at me with his phone on his ear.
"Yes, what can I do for you?"
I took a deep breath and hung up the phone. I return to the hospital after receiving a message that my father is suffering a seizure; Alexander has followed me inside and is staring at me with a grimace. He's perplexed as to why I ran into the hospital.
"Dad!" I sob while crying, and my mother comforts me as she cries as well. We are concerned that this may be the final time I see my father, so I pray frequently for God to hear my prayers. "Not right now, please don't leave us, daddy." As I sobbed, I whispered something.
Alexander is concerned as he looks at me, but when our gazes meet, he backs away and leaves the room.
My father's life was saved by the doctor and nurse, and we were pleased when the seizure stopped. We expressed our gratitude to the doctor and nurses. My mother then resumes her conversation with the doctor, while I step outside to search for Alexander.
I'm not sure why I'm looking for him, but I believe he can help me.
Right now, I'm completely hopeless. I'm in desperate need of someone, and I'm looking for him.
"Are you looking for me?" I heard a frigid voice, yet it was so damn pleasant to hear it again.
I cocked my head to cast a glimpse at him. "Uhm, yeah,"
He was dressed in a posh suit, like if he were the director of this hospital or something. Some doctor is respectfully greeting him. His look at me bothers me a lot. "Then come with me," he replied as he walked out of the hospital. Outside, a limousine was waiting for him, so I came to a halt and he said, "Get in."
I don't have much of a choice but to follow his command.
We arrived at a high building. It was my first time stepping my feet at this tall building and when I read the entrance it was the Company of the Roberts.
"Follow me..."
"How are we going to get there?"
"Are you sure you want to talk to me? Then stick with me." He muttered this as he walked into the building. When they saw Alexander, some people bent their heads. Is he a millionaire or something? Because everyone is bowing their heads to him as if he is their boss.
I'm strolling after him, as if I'm a tail, as he presses the button and enters the elevator.
He grabbed my wrist and said, "After you." I stopped walking when he said that.
"To my office," he murmured as he dragged me along behind him. Why does he keep touching me? "Can we just walk like normal people?" I asked, gulping.
He released my wrist and went away, opening his office and mesmerizing me with its beauty. My eyes widened as I continued to glance around, noting how well organized and tidy everything was.
He sits on his swivel shower and taps his table gently to draw my attention to him. He glanced at me from head to toe as I cleared my throat and stood where I was.
"Are you going to say something to me now?"
"I know it's humiliating for me to ask for help, but I truly need it; I can do anything you want as long as you help me." I said while I have heavy breathing, He tried to walk and I call his name "Wait, please anything you want..just tell me."
He smirked, then bit his lower lip.
"I am a businessman, I can negotiate with you, darling." He said quietly, and his voice calmed me down.
"Oh okay…"
He motioned for me to sit and listen to his condition and terms by raising his hand and pointing to the chair.
"I don't mean to offend you, but you make me feel turned on every time I see you. I'd like to have you as my sex reliever." When he stated that, I was stunned, and my eyes gleamed at him in wonder.
"I mean, if you accept the offer, you won't have to pay for your father's hospital bills, and I'll give you a better job at my firm as my personal assistant, but your only job is to make me happy." He said.
All the things he said were running through my head, I don't know if I will take his offer- or not because he looks more serious now, his face darkened as he is impatiently waiting for my response.
"The clock is ticking…I don't have all the time to wait for your answer, if you don't take it. I will-"
"Alright, I'm going to take it," she murmured, gulping and her heart beating.
Alexander blinks his eyes for a second and chuckles as he looks at me.
"Then that's fantastic; submit your résumé to my secretary tomorrow so that no one suspects you, if you want to keep your image as clean and safe." He said nonchalantly and walked out of the room, calling his secretary to take my personal information, and I was left wondering what I had done with my life? I'm completely messed up. This isn't just a catastrophe; it's a major headache.
"Desiree Mccall." The secretary called my name and I am so done.
