Three months had gone by in a blink of an eye since Nina started living with the Walters.
She was now six months along, her stomach had swollen to a considerable size although she still looked almost the same. The difference was only in her bosom which were obviously fuller, swollen stomach and waist that had gotten thicker.
After vomiting for the third time that morning, she weakly trudged to the living room and plopped down under the watchful eyes of Selena and Sophie.
"How do you feel now?" Selena asked worriedly.
"Terrible. There is nothing in my stomach so I have been vomiting bile. Ah! being pregnant is such a chore"
"It must be the baby. Don't know if it is a boy or girl causing you so much trouble? I don't even know why you won't check the gender of the baby", Sophie snorted
"Hey! It's no fun knowing the gender now. It will be much of a greater suprise when I give birth, okay?" Nina said amusingly as she lovingly rubbed her stomach.
"Tch! I guess", Sophie snorted but said no more.
"I suddenly have a craving for sour fruits. Selena would you please indulge me, please?" She begged pitifully using her puppy eyes on her.
"What sour fruits? Will you be able to even keep it down?" Selena rolled her eyes at her before getting up to go to the kitchen.
Nina smiled fondly at her friend who though was admonishing her was actually worried about her. She was the type of person you describe as having a hard mouth but soft heart.
Sophie watched Selena go, when she was sure the coast was clear. She quickly scooted next to Nina.
Nina watched her curiously while guessing what she wanted to know.
Sophie looked nervously at Nina debating whether she should ask or not. She had heard that pregnant women can't be too stimulated but she really can't stand it anymore!
Nina had been waiting patiently for Sophie to talk so she had seen the various types of expressions that flitted past her face. Unable to contain it any longer, she impatiently interrupted her thoughts.
"Just ask away! It's not like I bite anyways!". She had startled Sophie who now looked like she saw a ghost, a guilty look she would say.
"I...I..", She looked nervously at Nina and when she saw she wasn't annoyed, she gathered her courage and speedily completed her words. " I wanted to know what would happen now between my brother and you!" She closed her eyes after she was done.
Hearing no sound for a while, she experimentally opened a eye to look at Nina only to see both her and Selena who had returned since God knows when looking at her while finding it hard to contain their laughter, if the shaking of their shoulders was any indication.
After seeing she had already opened her eyes, they both busted out laughing.
Hahahahahaha!
"I....can't...believe...this. She actually... actually...looked like a martyr when she asked the question. Am I that scary?" Nina asked in between laughs.
"This is so funny!" Selena also laughed at the situation.
Already feeling ashamed, Sophie decided to risk it all for her brother's happiness so she shamelessly persuaded Nina for reply.
"Just answer me!"
Knowing she wouldn't rest until she got an answer, Nina decided to just be honest with her.
"Me and your brother... How do I say it?" She paused for a moment like she was thinking of how to explain it to a three year old who doesn't understand why her mom and dad has to separate. "We... we can't go back to how we were anymore. His actions had already touched my bottom line. I can accept everything but I can't accept him cheating on me, getting her pregnant and then keeping it from me. Everything he did has challenged my bottom line every single time. Do you understand?"
"But..." Sophie wanted to continue but was cut off by her mother who came down from upstairs and interrupted her.
"That's okay, Sophie. It is their problem, leave them alone to solve it between themselves." 'But who can stop us from intervening secretly? We would just have to nudge them towards the right direction.' Mrs Walters thought slyly to herself.
Sophie also understood that pushing it might possibly backfire so she stopped asking and kept mum.
"And how are you feeling today, honey?" Mrs Walters asked warmly.
"The same, nausea and vomiting"
"It will get better"
"Brian and Justin has gone to work?", She asked directing her question at Sophie.
"Yes, mom. They both went out pretty early today".
"Then I guess it's just us ladies today."

Justin stood outside the door of the hospital VIP ward and coldly listened to the cries of a woman in labor. Ian had called him today to tell him Emily's water had broke. He had immediately ordered them to take her to his family's hospital under strict security. He couldn't let anyone mess up his plan at the final step.
The cries of a newborn sounded out from the room but he couldn't feel any happiness.
The door of the ward opened and the doctor came out. He bowed respectfully towards Justin before speaking.
"Sir, it is a girl. She has grey eyes so there is high probability that she isn't your child but just to be sure I already got a sample from the umbilical cord. The results would come out in 4 hours. Should i send it directly to your office or home?"
Justin waved his hand dismissively,
"No need, I would wait for it myself. Lead the way to the lab, I would wait outside." He couldn't tolerate any foul play because who knows what Tyson Peters might try out. Even though this hospital belonged to his family, he still could not rest easy. And if not for the fact that he might distract the doctors at work, he would personally watch them perform the test.
The doctor wanted to say more but decided against it as he knew just how important the answer was to him.
"This way, sir.", He gesticulated for Justin to be in front while he followed closely behind.

To my loyal readers, thanks to y'all for supporting me and sorry the break. Initially, I had finished TSEF but I felt the plot was too underdeveloped so I had to stop and rewrite it and that can be quite time-consuming. Although I am still an amateur, I still hope for my readers to have a worthwhile read and not something hurriedly put together and even if this new plot is not that developed, it is still better off than the initial. We would be having one chapter every three days from now on and as an apology for the break, there would be an extra chapter for today.
