Meanwhile, back at the Anderson's residence, Dan stared expressionlessly at the old man who was for some reason suddenly claiming relatives while looking at him with excitement and fell into deep thought.

He wondered what crooked idea the damn old man had cooked up in his muddled mind now.

Glancing at Ryan from the corner of his eyes, he noticed the latter's look if watching a show and understood immediately that Ryan must have an inkling of the idea the old man had cooked up but had no intention whatsoever of telling him.

But then he shrugged indifferently, he was used to this brother-cum-bestfriend of his always wanting to see a joke of him anyways.

That aside, he turned to face Mr. Anderson again and after staring deeply at him for a few seconds, he smiled. The smile appeared abrupt on his effeminate face and lighted up his face which was even more beautiful than a woman's.

However, looking closely, you could see that the smile never reached his eyes, as they remained chillingly cold.

"Your... son?", he asked with deliberate slowness as if chewing those words carefully in his mouth.

After asking that question, the smile on his face converged as sudden as it appeared and with plain disgust in his voice, he asked.

"Old man, are you senile?"

The happiness which had appeared on Mr. Anderson's face after seeing Dan smile, thinking that he planned on acknowledging him, stiffened.

When he looked at Dan again, viciousness and anger flashed in his eyes. People like him were used to other people's respect and flattery and he found it a bit hard ( not even a bit hard, it was a whole lot hard!) to accept that someone actually dared to curse him!
Especially when the person turned out to be an illegitimate son whom he would have never even thrown a second glance on normal days!

His eyes flashed with sinister scheming as he thought inwardly, 'If it wasn't for his good relationship with Ryan that I had taken fancy to...'

Speaking of which, he also remembered the last time he had called Dan to come over to the Anderson's with plans to use him to overthrow Ryan. Yet, he had actually kept him and Luke waiting and never came in the end!

Adding that to him cursing him now, Dan was already the second on Mr. Anderson's most hated list. The first was of course, Ryan.

Don't say that Dan was his biological son although, illegitimate because to Mr. Anderson, blood ties had always been one of the most indispensable things to him! 

"Dad!"

While he was lost in his thoughts, Mr. Anderson heard a shout and gradually he remembered something he had ignored in the first place. He slowly raised his head and had a clear view of the shock and disbelief on Luke's face and without anyone telling him, he knew that things were about to go awry!

He had been too impatient by acting on impulse the moment he came to a decision that Luke wouldn't be able to make the Anderson's family prosper for long, especially when there was a Ryan who was suppressing them from their backs.

It wasn't like this was the first time he was realising it but he had just acted like he knew nothing by closing one eye even as Luke's ambitions gradually grew bigger and obvious, because he knew that Luke was his only option and most importantly, he was easier to control.

But now that there was a better option, of course he had to abandon the now useless pawn, which was Luke!

However, his impatience made him forget that things like this were better done behind Luke's back and only after everything was concluded would he inform him.

He still planned to do so, because in his heart, he believed that no one could resist the lure of having more power. As for Dan cursing him just now, he assumed it was due to Ryan's presence and took it as Dan pledging his allegiance to the former. 

Of course, this doesn't mean that he had forgotten that Dan had cursed him by asking if he was senile moments ago, neither does it mean that he forgave him. 

He would wait until Dan's interests is inextricably with the family's before raking action against him, but for now..

He had to stabilise Luke first.

"What is it?", He asked Luke calmly like he wasn't the one claiming relatives just now. However, would Luke be deceived by his appearance?

The answer was no! This was because if he claimed to be the one who knew his father the best, no one would dare claim second. This came from his years of acting obsequiously and observing the old man to prevent himself from running blindly along and offending him while being unaware.

This knowledge therefore enabled him to quickly realise the plan his father had in mind for that illegitimate son of his after snapping out of his daze.

"Dad! I know what you are planning!", he almost shouted this out with desperateness in his voice. Just imagine slaving yourself away for years for a tyrant king while acting like an obedient dog and just after you were about to ascend the throne after getting the tyrant's king approval, you found that the tyrant king wants to put someone else on the throne!

How could he not be desperate?! 

Faint anger and coldness appeared in Mr. Anderson's eyes when he heard Luke say that to him in a raised voice. He felt that his authority was being questioned!

Seriously! Each of the sons he sired were all rebelling against him!

On the other hand, Ryan who checked his phone every now and then while observing the farce happening in front of him felt no waves in his heart even though the people in question were his biological father and full-blooded brother In fact, he only felt that they were laughable and hoped that the two would soon turn against each other.

And by how things were going, that would be happening sooner or later..

Seconds later, he however came to his senses as he remembered that Selena was still in their hands and if those two should turn against each other, who could predict what would happen!

Right at the moment that thought appeared to him, he suddenly felt his heart tighten and he instantly turned pale. The feeling left as soon as it came, but Ryan couldn't help the uneasiness that seemed to settle in his heart.

Moments later, a thought occurred to him and he stood up violently in panic and successfully attracted the attention of the other people in the room.

Seeing Ryan looking somewhat pale, Dan quickly walked over with worry and concern written on his face and asked, "What is wrong with you?"

Ryan seemed not to have heard him as he walked aggressively over to Mr. Anderson and grabbed him by his neck, "Where is she! Tell me where you hid her!"

Dan watched him in shock and almost couldn't believe that this was the forever looking calm Ryan in front of him. But he soon snapped out of his shock as he realised that the only thing that can make Ryan lose control this much was named Selena.

But, Justin and the Nighthawk's team were already searching for her secretly according to their initial plan, right? 

Could something bad have happened that he didn't know of? 

Because he couldn't think of any other reason why Ryan became this way.

Mr. Anderson who had been grabbed violently also looked confused at Ryan's sudden violent behaviour.
