Chapter 204 Thank God, Plot Triggered
Lorena's face blanched in an instant.
She hadn't expected Ebony to hear it from so far away.
Everyone fell silent.
Following a glance at Lorena, Ebony turned back and continued her way forward.
The cafeteria was not far from the playground.
As soon as they reached the entrance of the cafeteria, there came a sudden bang.
Rounds of screams ensued.
"Ahhh!"
From the teaching building, someone shouted in alarm, "Someone jumped off the building!"
Someone jumped off the building?
Ebony narrowed her eyes, looking at the cafeteria and then at the teaching building.
In the end, her desire to win this game overcame her appetite, and she rushed toward the teaching building.
When everyone made it to the spot, a body was seen lying on the ground.
The eyes of the body were open, and she was wearing scary makeup as if her face was smashed. Her body was covered with blood, and her brain had burst.
To everyone's surprise, it was the girl with a ponytail.
"Barf!" Unable to bear the sight, Lorena turned around and covered her mouth. She almost threw up.
Rita and Sarina were not much better. They turned around in no time and closed their eyes.
Justin and Moses both tried to shield Ebony.
Before they could reach out their hands, Ebony had walked past them and strode over.
Justin's face changed, and he called out, "Miss Gibson!"
Oblivious to everything, Ebony went over, squatted down, and started to examine the body.
"Fatal injury to the head, skull broken severely, neck bone twisted. Tsk, the brains and blood plasma were smeared perfunctorily. They lost colors."
Ebony looked at the sticky paint in her hands.
She imperceptibly stuck her palms to the clothes of the body and wiped off the paint.
In a pool of blood, the girl with a ponytail looked fixedly at Ebony's face with bulging eyes.
Ebony met her eyes and said awkwardly, "Your clothes will be washed anyway. I didn't bring the tissue with me..."
She coughed and changed the subject.
She even gave the body some pointers. "Bodies falling to death have softer bones, but your hand and leg bones are too taut. Go down a little bit, yep, lower. Now, this looks much better."
After doing that, Ebony stood up and surveyed the surroundings.
After some time, she spoke toward the drone camera in the air, "The props team is unprofessional. The spatter range of the blood fits the scenario of someone falling off at least the tenth floor, but this building only features six floors. The spatter range is too wide to be real. Remember to work on it."
People who watched it through the camera of the drone were dumbfounded.
The chief director who watched the monitor was stunned.
And so was everyone else.
The comments from the audience flooded the screen.
"That was awesome, Ebo. That was a clear and logical analysis."
"How did Ebony know that?"
"Not surprising. Ebony is good at fighting, and fighters have a deeper understanding of bones and the structure of the human body. They know the critical and non-critical parts. After all, if they strike too hard and kill someone, they'll go to jail."
"Incredible. Knowledge gained. Guys, type 'professional' on the screen."
Ebony didn't know about these comments.
She was not afraid of corpses because she had studied medicine.
Not to mention this body was fake, even if it were real, it would not daunt clinicians.
After surveying the scene, Ebony entered the teaching building and rushed up the stairs.
Ten minutes later, Ebony came down, rejoined her companions, and said, "I didn't see any suspicious people. Given the environment, it's hard to tell from which floor she fell off. One thing is for sure. She died from the fall. There are no signs of other fatal injuries."
The headmaster came to disperse the crowd. No students were allowed to linger there.
Ebony said, "Let's go."
Justin asked in a deep voice, "Where are we going?"
Ebony replied matter-of-factly, "To eat, as I just said."
Justin was lost for words.
Sarina was shocked. "In such a situation, you are in the mood to eat?"
Ebony replied, "Lingering here is forbidden. If you want to stay, I won't stop you."
Sarina was not convinced. "We just saw a body. Who will have an appetite to eat?"
15 minutes later, they sat at the table. Everyone was expressionless as he watched Ebony dig in the food with a spoon.
Because none of them had a canteen card, they couldn't refill their rice. After finishing her portion, Ebony started to covet the others' food.
Her attention was attracted to Sarina who hadn't touched her food.
Ebony said, "Sarina, take a look at the tofu on your plate. Doesn't it look like the red and white brains we just saw?"
Sarina was stunned.
And so were the others.
Sarina put down her fork and knife. She had lost her appetite.
Ebony gave a sly laugh and hurriedly pulled Sarina's plate to her side.
The others were also full.
Seeing Ebony was such a foodie, Justin chuckled and picked up the drumstick from his bowl. He intended to give it to her.
All of a sudden, Moses intercepted the drumstick with his bowl and said with a straight face, "Thank you."
Justin froze.
Moses had a bite of the drumstick so that Justin could not regret it.
Justin glanced at Moses, let out a laugh, pushed his plate over, and said, "Pick up whatever you like."
Moses frowned at him.
He wasn't coveting Justin's food. He just didn't want Justin to be all over his aunt.
Was Justin a nice person, or was he trying to hit on Ebony?
Anyway, he should guard against Justin. Otherwise, when Lloyd came back, he would have a hard time.
Seeing that Moses didn't pick up the dishes, Justin pushed over the untouched rib soup to him and said, "You're too thin and indeed need more nutrition."
Moses was speechless.
Did Justin just taunt him? He had just had Justin's drumstick, and the latter mocked him?
Satiated, Ebony wiped her mouth and started to hold a meeting.
"Come on, fill me in with the information," she said.
Justin understood what she meant and took the lead to report, "Justin, the school doctor, 25 years old. I'm a relative of the headmaster and have worked here for one year."
Moses followed suit and said, "Moses, class 5 president of the 12th grade and a member of the basketball team."
Rita reported, "Rita, class 5 vice president of the 12th grade and the captain of cheerleaders."
Sarina said, "Sarina, class unknown, freshman, and the new campus belle."
Following her words, everyone looked over.
Sarina grabbed a lock of her hair and added innocently, "That's what everyone calls me."
Ebony nodded and analyzed, "That is a point, and it shows the boys in this school are blind and the girls are few in number, so a random girl can be a campus belle."
Sarina was speechless.
Ebony then stated, "Ebony, class unknown. I like the captain of the basketball team, and I am suspected to be the other woman."
Lorena looked up at Ebony, hesitated for a moment, and said, "Lorena, class unknown. I like the captain of the basketball team, and I am suspected to be the other woman."
Ebony was surprised. Lorena's persona was the same as hers?
Was it a coincidence? Or did the chief director arrange this to disgust her?
Everyone reported his persona.
Her fingers drummed the table. Ebony said, "Now, except for the school doctor, everyone is related to the basketball team. The girl, who fell to her death, is included. She was the girlfriend of the captain..."
She shook her head and said, "Our information is too little, and I don't have the slightest clue what the program team wants us to do. So, let's split up to gather information. At 5 p.m., we'll come back here and share the information once again."
Everyone agreed to the plan.
Then they split up and went on their separate missions.
Ebony thought they would meet different NPCs and get information from conversations with them.
She wandered on the campus for hours, but no one talked to her.
Since the basketball team was the crux of the matter, Ebony went to the gym.
The door was locked, and she tried to peek inside through the window.
A security guard, who was passing by, bumped into the scene and shouted, "What are you doing over there? Which class are you from?"
Ebony heard it and took to her heels.
It was a hot pursuit.
With a baton in his hand, the security guard chased her for 20 minutes and through half of the teaching building.
In the end, Ebony hid in the ladies' room and escaped the disaster.
After staying there for ten minutes, she cautiously poked her head out.
The security guard was not outside. Relieved, she planned to leave.
All of a sudden, the freckle-faced girl appeared and said, "Ebony, what are you doing here? I'm going back to the dormitory to get something. Why don't you come with me?"
Thank God, the plot was finally triggered.
Ebony hurriedly replied, "Yeah, sure."
20 minutes later, Ebony stood in a shabby and dark dorm where only a hazy light slanted in through the window. She asked hesitantly, "Is this our dorm? It doesn't... look like anyone is living here..."
Before she could finish her words, the door was slammed shut.
Then the somber cries of ghosts resounded through the room.
"Boohoo... Boohoo..."
The strange voice sent a shiver down Ebony's spine, and she got goosebumps.
Trying to call out to the freckle-faced girl, she turned around...
Before Ebony's eyes, streaks of blood suddenly appeared on the girl's face. Her eyes were dripping with blood, and her mouth was wide open. With a sinister laugh, she glowed with a green light and headed in Ebony's direction.
