Chapter 19 Discourage Those Frail People
It was too late when they came back from the tourist spot. Ebony Gibson sent other guests away by giving them some cheap hamburgers to eat casually.
When they got to the hotel, Vernon Hale was lying on the bed with head bandaged and his face was darkening.
Rita Obrien was surprised and asked hastily, "Vernon, what's wrong with you?"
Vernon Hale looked at Ebony Gibson who was standing in the very back of the crowd. And then he looked at Lloyd Vasquez on the other side. Thinking of the words Lloyd Vasquez said to him, he clinched his teeth and said out of breath, "I fell down in the washroom carelessly."
"Why are you so careless?" Rita Obrien stretched out her hand to touch Vernon Hale's head. She looked quite distressed.
Because of Vernon Hale's injury, the lively atmosphere of the show suddenly became more depressed, and the bullet screen comments displayed on the video also showed distress..
In the evening, Victor Torres arrived and met with other guests.
Victor Torres knew Vernon Hale, so he planned to cotton up with him at the very beginning. But he didn't do that for Vernon Hale hurt seriously and looked terrible.
At that moment, Victor Torres saw Ebony Gibson walking across the corridor outside. Looking at Ebony Gibson, Victor Torres thinking back the call several days ago from Lorena Gibson, who told him that Ebony Gibson hit her and her mother.
Victor Torres stood up and hurried away after thinking for a while.
However, after going out, Victor Torres found that Ebony Gibson was together with Teri Holland. So he didn't catch up with her but went back since there was someone else.
After getting back to the room, Victor Torres was about to pack his things while Vernon Hale, who was unkind to him before, said to him suddenly, "Victor, was Ebony out just now?"
Victor Torres felt that his heart tightened. He was afraid that others 
found the fact he hurried away to catch up with Ebony Gibson, so he explained hurriedly, "Yes. But I thought that was Jacob, I was about to borrow a shaver. It turned out to be a mistake."
Vernon Hale raised an eyebrow. He stared at Victor Torres thoughtfully.
Vernon Hale thought he was much smarter than others, even there were five people like Victor Torres. He had been in this field for such a long time while Victor Torres just started his career not long ago.
Was there some kind of relationship between Ebony Gibson and Victor Torres?
Vernon Hale lost in thought.
He wouldn't forget the beating happened today.
Later, Ebony Gibson went downstairs to consult the departure time of buses at the front desk because she had to plan the route for tomorrow. She came across Rita Obrien when getting back.
Rita Obrien took a kettle. Seeing Ebony Gibson, she said, "There seems to be something wrong with the kettle."
Ebony Gibson looked at the kettle and said, "There was no problem before."
Rita Obrien said, "It is not the kettle in our room, but the room for men. I found that when I fetched water for Vernon. You go with me downstairs to tell the front desk the problem."
Ebony Gibson didn't want to accompany her and left directly, "Go by yourself."
Rita Obrien stamped her foot behind, "You are the steward."
Ebony Gibson ignored her and went back to the room.
Rita Obrien finally went downstairs alone, with the cameraman following her.
Rita Obrien arrived at the first floor, facing the polite smile of the lady at the front desk. She scratched her ears and cheeks in embarrassment, and she couldn't say a word.
"Can't Rita Obrien speak English?"
"It is common that one can't speak English. Not everyone is good at speaking English."
"Ebony Gibson is too tiresome. How come she doesn't come downstairs with Rita Obrien for she knows that Rita Obrien can't speak English."
"Ah! Rita Obrien haven't said that she can't speak English previously, how can Ebony Gibson know that?"
"Unexpectedly, I'm speechless to know that there are several Ebony Gibson's fans in bullet screen comments. Did you forget those rumors about her? If you still like a girl with such a bad personal character, you are also like her in your daily life. As the saying goes, birds of feather flock together."
"Personal abuse already?"
"Originally, I was not Ebony Gibson's fan, but just felt that she did things neatly and clearly. But now, I want to be her fan. What do you think?"
"Just be yourself, Ebony Gibson! Discourage those frail people!"
The bullet screen comments were ceaseless.
Ebony Gibson was about to ask Rita Obrien where the black bag was after packing things she needed. When she looked up, she found that half an hour had passed and Rita Obrien had not come back.
She asked Teri Holland, "Where is Rita Obrien?"
Teri Holland just came out of the shower, wiped her face and said, "I don't know. Aren't she taking care of Vernon?"
Ebony Gibson frowned. She stood up and walked out.
The door of the room for men was closed. She knocked at the door.
It was Victor Torres who opened the door. Seeing Ebony Gibson outside, his face lighted up. He asked in a low voice which could just be heard by they two, "Are you here to see me?"
"..." Ebony Gibson didn't want to talk to him.
She looked over Victor Torres and asked Jacob Silva inside, "Jacob, did you see Rita Obrien?" 
Jacob Silva was folding the clothes. He looked up and said, "Rita had left after she brought a new kettle for us."
Ebony Gibson frowned. She looked into the room. Lloyd Vasquez was standing on the balcony making a phone call, and when he saw her looking over, he leaned against the railing of the balcony sideways and looked at her.
Ebony Gibson looked away. She searched other places but failed to find Vernon Hale.
"OK, I got it." She turned away after saying that.
The cameraman in the corridor was shooting Ebony Gibson. She remembered that he was the man who shot Rita Obrien before, so she asked him, "Did you see Rita Obrien?"
The cameraman shook his head. Rita Obrien asked him not to follow her and he actually did.
Though it was a variety show. The staff had to respect guests' willingness. If the guest refused to be shot explicitly, the cameramen wouldn't follow him or her forcibly.
Thinking that Rita Obrien was old enough and wouldn't be lost, Ebony Gibson got back to her room.
About an hour later, Teri Holland had fallen sleep while Rita Obrien still hadn't come back.
The door was opened and Rita Obrien came back smilingly until 1:00 a.m..
Ebony Gibson sat on the bed and looked at her.
Rita Obrien turned on the lights. Seeing Ebony Gibson was still awake, she rolled her eyes and walked into the washroom directly.
After Rita Obrien went out, Ebony Gibson asked casually, "Where did you go?"
Rita Obrien stared at her, "It is none of your business!"
Ebony Gibson sneered. She pulled up the quilt and lay down without saying anything.
The second day, Vernon Hale felt better and could join them.
He wore a cap to roughly cover his bandaged head.
When Ebony Gibson went downstairs, She saw Rita Obrien and Vernon Hale were staying together.
Vernon Hale sat on the sofa and said something to Rita Obrien. Rita Obrien smiled with her head bent and leaned on Vernon Hale from time to time.
"What's wrong with Rita Obrien? Does she have no bones?"
"Can she not lean on Venny? Is she insane?"
"Though he was a senior student back then, they aren't siblings. Can they stay away from each other?"
"Is Rita Obrien a bitch?"
Vernon Hale had alway been a popular star and had so many fans. So the whole broadcasting room was full of words abusing Rita Obrien suddenly.
Ebony Gibson walked over and gave Lloyd Vasquez a mask as usual. And then she was about to take all guests to the bus.
At that moment, Rita Obrien said suddenly, "Give a mask to Vernon."
Ebony Gibson glanced at Vernon Hale and found that Vernon Hale looked at Rita Obrien with doting eyes. She sneered, "Does he need one?"
Rita Obrien became angry at the moment, "Do you know how popular Vernon has been now? You were so unknown yourself. You don't know how annoying it is that big stars are always recognized by passers-by!""
Rita Obrien replied quickly and awkwardly.
There was a sudden silence.
