Chapter 176 He Looked at Her and Felt Unwilling to Let Her Go
Lloyd's ironic words made Ebony sweat in fear.
She hurriedly explained. "Mr. V... Vasquez, I didn't mean that. I was just overtaken by the victory. I definitely didn't respect you. I really..."
"Sit down."
Lloyd said it again.
Ebony dared not to irritate him and carefully sat down.
She dared not sit in the center of the sofa, but only on the edge of it.
Lloyd looked down at her and asked, "Are you very satisfied with your performance this time?"
Ebony shooked her head wildly. "No. Not satisfied. I behaved badly. And there are so many things that I need to learn from you!"
Lloyd raised his eyebrows. "Learn from me? What to learn? My small-minded nature?"
Ebony quickly said, "You are not small-minded. You are generous. You are the most magnanimous person I have met in my life."
"You don't bear grudges. You are compassionate and willing to help others. You set an example for us!"
"Do you think that it's honorable to speak ill of others when you're training?"
"No. You're right. I will not repeat the same mistake and strive to be a dedicated young man who is useful to society!"
"Are you tired of making up these words?"
Ebony looked at him aggrievedly.
She shook her head insincerely. "I didn't make that up. It's what I really thought..."
Lloyd stared at her for a while and suddenly smiled.
He walked over and sat down beside her. He said casually, "We're even."
Ebony turned to look at him.
Lloyd chuckled. "Miss Gibson, you were not so cowardly when you captured me. Weren't you very fierce? Didn't you want to take me away?"
Ebony bent her head and muttered. "You were my enemy at that time. My teacher taught me that we should treat enemies ruthlessly."
Lloyd raised his eyebrows. "Your teacher?"
Ebony was stunned and quickly said, "My primary teacher. It's taught by my primary teacher!"
Lloyd didn't speak anything more but looked at her.
Ebony hurriedly asked, "Well, can I go back now?"
Lloyd reclined on the sofa and said slowly, "Are you unwilling to stay with me?"
Ebony said with a pout, "I want to go back to do the training. I feel uncomfortable if I don't attend it."
Lloyd laughed. He looked at her and he was unwilling to let her go from the heart.
But he knew that it was meaningless to ask her to stay here.
He stood up and took a tube of ointment out of the drawer.
He handed it to her. "Kelly is injured. Bring it to her."
Ebony was stunned. She suddenly recalled that Kelly called Lloyd "uncle".
Their families might have a close relationship.
Ebony took the ointment and said, "Okay."
When she went down, the night running was almost over.
Ebony rejoined them and ran for a lap. Then the assistant instructor told them to go back to rest.
After they were dismissed, Ebony ran to find Kelly.
She found that Kelly's arm was bruised.
It was not so serious. But it would be inflamed if it was not treated properly.
Kelly was going to the infirmary.
Ebony decided to accompany her.
The infirmary was on the second floor of the building for rest.
And the instructor's office was on the third floor.
After they reached the infirmary and the doctor on duty examined her bruise, the doctor took the ointment brought by Ebony and said, "This ointment is imported and it works better. Just use it."
Then the doctor on duty put the ointment on her bruise.
Kelly's elbow was not very flexible because it was bandaged. After she came out of the infirmary, she kept swaying her arm.
Ebony held her hand and said, "Don't move it. Or it may influence the healing process."
Kelly had been naughty since she was a child. She was not afraid of falling and beating, nor was she afraid of pain.
But she felt happy as her aunt cared about her.
She rushed over and hugged her aunt. She said in a soft voice, "Aunt, you're so good to me. You also asked Lloyd to give me the ointment. You are the sweetest."
Ebony pushed her away with difficulty and said with a stern face, "I didn't ask him for the ointment. He gave it to me."
Kelly didn't listen to her and still clung to her aunt.
Ebony continued to push her away.
At the moment, there were only the two of them frolicking in the corridor.
Ebony came out in private and the cameraman did not follow her.
After Ebony pushed Kelly away once again, she suddenly asked, "Does your family have a good relationship with Lloyd's?"
Kelly didn't think much.
She said, "Yes. Lloyd's father and my grandpa are good friends. When Lloyd was a child, he often came to our home to play."
Ebony raised her eyebrows. "When he was a child? So you two are old family friends?"
Kelly said, "Yes."
Ebony was silent for a while and suddenly asked, "Since you are old family friends, you must know Miss Smith, right?"
"Miss Smith?" Kelly was a bit puzzled.
Kelly recalled that it was Carlton and Moses who told her that her aunt had an engagement with Lloyd.
The surname of Lloyd's ex-fiancée might be Smith.
Ebony said, "She is close to Lloyd and her surname is Smith."
Kelly scratched her head. "Lloyd doesn't get close to any girl. Oh, just one."
Ebony immediately said, "Yeah, it's that one. Do you know her well?"
Kelly looked strange. She frowned and said, "Yes. It's you."
Ebony was speechless.
Ebony patted Kelly. "Do you really understand Lloyd? Do you know he had that one before?"
Kelly was confused. "Which one?"
Ebony couldn't say the word "fiancée".
She could not ask Kelly anymore.
Finally, she waved her hand and said, "Forget it."
Kelly didn't know what she wanted to ask. She said, "Aunt, who do you want to know? You just tell me the name and I will know whether I know her."
Ebony said, "I don't know her name and I just know that her surname is Smith. She is blind. Oh, do you know Carlton Smith or Moses Smith?"
Kelly was speechless.
Carlton Smith and Moses Smith.
"Aren't they Carlton Gibson and Moses Gibson?" Kelly thought.
The surname of her auntie was Smith.
When Carlton and Moses made a living in the outside world, they dared not to use their real names.
So they used Carlton Smith and Moses Smith instead.
The corner of Kelly's mouth twitched. She said awkwardly, "I... know them."
Ebony's eyes gleamed. "Then you must know their aunt, right?"
Kelly was so speechless.
She looked at Ebony's face and choked. Then she nodded slowly. "Yes."
Ebony instantly asked, "Is she beautiful?"
Kelly scratched her face. "Ye... yes."
Ebony asked again, "Is she elegant?"
Kelly didn't know how to describe it.
She could only say, "I think she is elegant."
Ebony pursed her lips. "Is she very excellent?"
Kelly instantly said, "Of course. She is excellent. She is the best!"
Ebony's face darkened slowly. She asked again, "Then do you think that... she and Lloyd are matched?"
Kelly praised without thinking. "Of course. They must be matched. They are a perfect match!"
Ebony's face was so dark at the moment.
She stood at the corner of the stairs and suddenly shouted. "It's meaningless to be a perfect match. They have broken the engagement! Pooh!"
Then she ran downstairs directly.
Kelly was at a loss for words.
She didn't react. Then she hurried to catch up with Ebony. "Aunt... Wait for me..."
The sound of their footsteps faded away.
The building for rest was quiet again at the midnight.
After a while, at the corner of the stairs from the third floor to the second floor, Lloyd slowly walked downstairs with smiling dark eyes and a document in his hand.
