Chapter 42 Let's Have a Contest If You Are not Convinced
The moment the boards were raised, a stepping board popped up. Ebony put her feet on it with surprise. Seeing that there's a blanket and a pillow next to her, she couldn't resist using them and sighing in her heart: It is indeed a first-class cabin, so different from the economy class.
The plane took off soon and the broadcast began to remind everyone about safety, but there was no reminder to turn off the phone.
Ebony was so honest that she turned off her cell phone.
Not long after takeoff, a flight attendant came to Ebony and asked if she'd like something to eat or drink.
How could Ebony miss out on eating and drinking for free? The food in first class was more tasty and diverse than that in business class. Ebony regretted having breakfast in the airport. She asked for some packaged snacks, cakes and the like, considering that even if she didn't eat at the moment, she could take them off the plane.
When the flight attendant brought the food, the partition of the box opened for a short while. And in such a short time, Ebony saw that Lloyd next to her was still on the phone.
She stretched out her hand and reported on the spot, "He didn't turn off his phone!"
The flight attendant was stunned for a moment. Lloyd heard the voice and turned to her. When he saw it was her, he was not surprised at all. He seemed to have already known she was next to him.
Ebony gave a provocative look at him, but he just responded with a faint glance. He turned around and continued on the phone.
"Hey, this man has no safety awareness at all!" Ebony glared at the flight attendant and added, "Why don't you warn him?"
The flight attendant said with embarrassment, "Miss, our airline's planes are equipped with free Wi-Fi. All first-class passengers can turn on their mobile phones after the plane takes off and stably fly for 20 minutes. In airplane mode, you can enjoy free Wi-Fi, so there is no need to turn off your mobile phone."
Ebony was totally stunned hearing that.
Afraid that Ebony would be embarrassed, the flight attendant said in a hurry, "Well, I wish you a happy meal." After that, she pushed the cart and hurried away.
Ebony's face became hot and blushed. It's the first time for her to know that passengers in first class actually enjoyed much better treatment and could turn on and play on the phone!
Was this what it felt like to be rich?
Ebony was dumbfounded.
Lloyd in the opposite seat hung up the phone at this time and looked at her with his dark and clear eyes, asking, "We're not going the same way?"
Ebony didn't bother to reply to him, so she pressed the button to raise the partition. Then she quietly turned on the phone and tried to be on wi-fi.
"Wow!" she exclaimed as the wi-fi was connected to her phone.
So advanced!
The flight from Sluvale to Sleeldale took just over three hours, and the plane landed soon.
Ebony reluctantly stood up and was about to go out of the first-class cabin. As soon as she opened the partition, she saw Lloyd standing next to her.
The aisle was very spacious, but Lloyd still stopped to make way for her.
Ebony caught a fleeting glimpse of him. Without realizing he was making way for herself, she strutted in front of him.
Looking at her swaggering, Lloyd chuckled.
After exiting the airport passage, Ebony saw the staff of the show and was taken to the gathering place. She and Lloyd were the first to come, and the others had not arrived yet.
"You have a rest first. Miss Holland and Mr. Silva will arrive in an hour." The staff said politely.
Ebony found a chair in a corner to sit down, holding the snacks she had got from the first-class cabin in her arms.
Lloyd sat on the other side and started to look through his phone.

He seemed very busy today.
Maybe not only today. Ebony recalled it appeared that Lloyd often called on the balcony at night during the previous two trips. And at breakfast time, he also talked on the phone sometimes.
Was the best actor so busy? Even if there must be someone to be busy, it should be his agent to be busy. What was he busy with?
"Miss Gibson." Someone suddenly called her when she was muttering.
She looked over and saw that it was Mathew, Lloyd's assistant. Mathew had brought two large boxes full of drinks and was distributing them to the staff, "Miss Gibson, what would you like to drink, latte, Cappuccino, or chocolate bubble tea?"
Considering it's for free, Ebony immediately got up and walked over, taking a cup of latte.
After everyone chose what they wanted, Mathew took a cup of black coffee and delivered it to Lloyd.
Lloyd held the cup of coffee in hand, but didn't drink it. He was still looking through his phone.
Ten minutes later, Victor arrived.
He looked like riding on the crest of success. After he came, he asked his assistant to buy coffee for everyone present.
As his assistant was about to go, the chief director held up the cup in his hand and said, "Victor, Mr. Vasquez just invited us to drink."
Victor turned to look at Lloyd, responding with some disappointment on face, "Oh, I'm late."
Ebony was biting the edge of the coffee cup in the corner and wanted to laugh looking at Victor.
Victor's hypocritical appearance really made her disgusting.
If he really wanted to invite everyone to drink coffee, he could ask the assistant to buy. However, obviously, he was pretending to be generous because he had seen everyone was holding a cup.
Ebony's good mood got from flying first class in the morning was washed away by Victor's arrogant appearance.
Since someone hadn't arrived yet, Victor took the advantage of the wait to wander back and forth among several directors like a butterfly.
Eventually Ebony was tired of his endless noisy voice and couldn't help but say, "Are you a chainsaw?"
Hearing her words, almost everyone present looked at her all of a sudden.
Even Lloyd sitting opposite raised his head and looked over.
Ebony raised her brows and looked at Victor, complaining, "That's you! What are you looking at? You've been buzzing since you came here. You really have a mouth and are good at speaking, Alas? You are so noisy! Could you please take the battery out of your throat?"
Victor's face turned gloomy in an instant, and he jumped to his feet, "What did you say?"
"I said you were annoying. Don't you understand?"
"Ebony, don't go too far!" Victor glanced at the surrounding staff, and pretended to be aggrieved, "I didn't provoke you, OK?"
"You made me physically uncomfortable, so it's already a provocation."
"You're going too far!" Victor raged, his face full of sorrow.
Sure enough, as soon as he showed his pitiful appearance, several staff member immediately spoke well for him.
"Victor really didn't do anything."
"He was just chatting."
"Victor is a good guy."
Ebony sneered and stared at the staff, "You call one a nice guy after just having a chat with him? In that case, if he performs cross talk for you, will he be able to win the Nobel Peace Prize?"
The staff immediately shut up. They admitted to themselves that they would definitely not be able to beat Ebony in the argument who was deemed as the best refuter in the entertainment circle.
Ebony glanced at Victor again and saw that he was squinting at her. She said belligerently, "Why? Let's have a contest if you are not convinced."
Victor had to look away after recalling the last time he was pressed by Ebony on his head and pressed into the water.
Lloyd retracted his gaze at this time and gave a silent smile.
