Chapter 80 Brother Definitely Will Like Ebony
Ebony was figuring out the 108 ways to store. Suddenly, she felt a strong line of sight projecting on her.
She turned around in confusion.
Seeing that it was Lloyd, she frowned and asked, "Why are you staring at me? I tell you, don't ever think about my supplies. I won't give them to you even if I can't hold them all!"
Lloyd chuckled. He got up and walked to her side.
Looking at the things on the ground, he suddenly asked, "Have you learned the troop storage method?"
She was stunned, then looked up at him.
Lloyd squatted down, emptied her bag, and put the things in again.
While putting things, he said, "When the field troops are performing tasks outside, in order to ensure the supply and storage of materials, the logistics staff will achieve the ultimate classification and ultimate sorting."
Ebony's eyes wide opened when she saw him packing everything she couldn't fit in before into the bag.
And due to the scientific storage method, it's easy to take these things out.
Ebony was a little surprised, "I didn't expect you to be useful. Did you learn this during filming?"
Lloyd looked at her and was silent for a while before saying, "I learned it from the Military College."
She was stunned, "You went to the Military College?"
Lloyd turned his eyes away, "No me. My family has been there."
Ebony stared at him for a while, then looked at the bulging supplies package. After a while, she nodded and said, "It's good."
It was not sure what she said was the storage method or the Military College.
Lloyd said, "Go and rest. I'll stay up all night."
Ebony sneered, "No, you go to sleep. I'll wait here till Tristan works his shift in the middle of the night."
Lloyd suddenly stood up. He held her hand and pulled her up too.
Ebony Gibson was suddenly pulled up by him and staggered.
She asked unhappily, "What are you doing?"
Lloyd held her hand, bringing her to the tent, and said softly, "Take a rest. You are too tired today."
She frowned.
Lloyd coaxed again, "Good girl. Call me if you have any need."
A lot of things happened today. Hesitating for a while, she finally went into the tent to rest.
Maybe it was because Lloyd mentioned the Military College, Ebony had a dream that night.
She dreamed that a long, long time ago, it was an afternoon. A ten-year-old girl, wearing a long red plaid dress, was sitting in a large room full of clocks.
"Ebs, it's time to go to the restaurant." A spirited old man outside the door said, leaning on the door frame.
The little girl didn't move. She pouted and turned her back to the door, refusing to go out angrily.
After a while, a kind old grandma walked in. She stroked the little girl's hair and coaxed softly, "Dad has a temporary task and can't come back to celebrate your birthday. Grandpa and grandma will accompany you to have a big meal, okay?"
The little girl turned her head aggrievedly, throwing her little head into her grandmother's arms. Then she raised her head and said, "Dad has promised me."
The grey-haired grandfather joked at the door of the room, "Alas, Is Ebs going to cry again?"
The little girl quickly stretched out her short hand, wiping her wet eyes, and said loudly, "No. Ebs didn't cry!"
Grandpa and grandma burst out laughter.
The orange light reflected from the window. At this moment, the phone in the living room suddenly rang.
"It's Dad!" The little girl jumped up excitedly. She rushed into the living room and grabbed the phone, "Dad!"
However, it wasn't her dad but a strange man on the other end of the phone, "Excuse me, is that the Hunt family?"
The little girl was so disappointed that she lowered her head. But she still said politely, "Yes, who are you looking for?"
"I'm looking for... Mr. Hunt."
The little girl with puffed cheeks handed it to grandpa who was coming over.
Grandpa answered the phone with a smile. But after a while, his expression suddenly changed.
That night, the little girl did not go to the restaurant with her grandparents for her birthday.
Grandpa went into the hospital and grandma was crying out of breath. The little girl sat at the door of the empty hospital corridor, not knowing what happened...
But ten days later, she knew.
Her dad died.
It was pouring that day.
She was taken by her grandparents to a cemetery.
Many uncles came to the funeral. They wore military uniforms and looked at her with sympathy in their eyes.
"This is Mr. Hunt's daughter?"
"Little girl, your father is a hero!"
They all talked to her, but she didn't answer. She just looked at the unfamiliar cemetery with clean tombstones on it.
She heard that soldiers were buried here when they died.
In the tent , Tears flowed from the corners of Ebony's eyes in her sleep.
She turned over, sniffed, and buried her face in her arms.
The dream changed at this time.
The cemetery disappeared. Her grandparents disappeared.
In the dream the little girl woke up from a clean white bed.
Her head hurt. Her body hurt. Many tubes were inserted into her body, and a mask was placed on her face.
She knew this was an oxygen mask. Her grandfather was a very famous Chinese medicine doctor. She heard a lot of medical knowledge from her grandfather, and she knew a lot of medical equipment.
But why was the oxygen mask on her face?
"She finally wakes up."
"Little girl, is there anything wrong with you?"
There were many doctors and nurses around.
They seemed excited when they saw her awake.
The little girl looked at them in confusion. She took off the oxygen mask on her face and said in a weak voice, "Grandpa...Grandma..."
There came a sudden hush.
They looked at her sympathetically and began to change the subject. They refused to tell her where her grandparents were.
A few days later, some people from social welfare institutions came to her ward.
When they were in front of her, they comforted her in a soft voice. But they secretly discussed some things behind her back.
"Why doesn't this child speak? Can't she speak?"
"No, she can speak. She just can't accept the fact that both her grandparents have passed away."
"She is very beautiful. If she's in our orphanage, she would be adopted soon. It's just that she is a little older. It would be nice if she could be more lively."
They were discussing where to send her, maybe this city or another one.
The little girl sitting on the hospital bed actually heard it all.
But she never said much.
Only at night, she would hide under the quilt and cry secretly.
"Ebs, don't be afraid. The police have found your mother and she will come to take you home soon. You are not an orphan and will not go to an orphanage."
The kind-hearted medical staff would take extra care of this little girl .
They would give her candy and talk to her about the outside world. It was just that this child never smiled or spoke. She had no response to anything.
Until one day, a large group of people came to the hospital.
A tall and straight man in a military uniform walked up to the little girl.
He crouched down, looking on the level at the little girl. He asked softly, "What's your name?"
As always, the little girl didn't answer, just looked at him blankly.
Someone whispered from behind, "Marshal, she has been like this for half a month. It may be PTSD. She has not spoken for a long time. The doctor said that her vocal cords are fine. It is psychological problem."
A trace of complexity flashed across the man's face. He asked again, "Is your name Ebs?"
The little girl didn't nod or shake her head. She was like a puppet that couldn't move. There was no light in her dark eyes.
"I am Uncle Lloyd. I and your father are good friends. Are you willing to go home with uncle? Uncle has a son who is older than you. He'll like you. Go home with me, won't you?"
