Chapter 65 Don't Use the Stuff
Kelly frowned and asked in confusion, "How do you..."
"Prize!" the girl standing across from her suddenly rushed over to her and grabbed her shoulder with great strength, "There is a prize? How much is it! How much is it! Tell me, how much is the prize!"
Kelly was shaken so heavily that she was almost concussed. She stammered, "The prize for the first, first, first place, is one, one, one million..."

Kelly didn't know why she yelled at her.
She pushed away Ebony's hand angrily and walked straight ahead, "I won't encumber you and you don't encumber me. My goal is also the first place. If I can't get the first prize, it will be the same as getting the last... Hey, what are you doing?"
Kelly was suddenly caught.
She looked back and saw that Ebony had grabbed her backpack.

Kelly was shocked.

Kelly was grim-faced. She wondered why on earth Lloyd liked this girl.
However, Ebony had already assumed that she was the leader of the team. Kelly didn't want to argue with her about it so she just silently followed her.
It was almost noon now.
The sun overhead seemed to parch them.
They walked for a while, getting hotter and hotter.
Kelly took off the coat and her camouflage vest inside was shown.

In order to accommodate Kelly, Ebony finally stopped. She opened the backpack and checked the things in it.
In addition to some necessities like ropes, lighters, flashlights, and other common stuff, there were only two bottles of water, two bags of compressed biscuits, and two sleeping bags inside the bag.
Ebony was startled, "That's all we've got?"
Kelly stepped forward to get the biscuits. But just as she stretched out her hand, she was hit heavily.
She took her hand back and shouted, "Why do you hit me again?"
Ebony frowned and zipped up. She said, "Don't eat it. We only have these. We'll have to keep it."
Kelly frowned, "The biscuits and water were originally prepared for us today. We can set up traps for hunting at night. There are pheasants in the forest and they will be hunted tomorrow morning."
"What if we can't hunt them?" Ebony looked around. Finally, she pointed at a big tree a short distance away. She said, "Eat it."
Kelly glanced at it and said, "Do you know what it is? The animals and plants in the rainforest are very dangerous. If you accidentally eat something poisonous, it might..."
"It's blackberry which tastes sour and bitter. Both its skin and pit can be used as medicine. It's a very common Chinese herbal medicine. We can eat it and it's not poisonous," Enoby said quickly.
Kelly was stunned and looked at Ebony in confusion, "You know how to identify herbs?"
"A little," Ebony said while putting the bag on her back again. She then stood up to climb the tree.
She climbed the tree very flexibly. Kelly felt she just blinked and Ebony had been on the tree. She was shaking the branches of the tree there.
Soon, a bunch of berries fell from the top.
A few minutes later, Ebony thought that it was enough. She jumped to the ground from the tree which was three meters high.
Kelly felt surprised and her eyes widened.
She didn't need to buffer when jumping from such a high place.
She just jumped off the tree?
Ebony picked up a complete berry and wiped it with her sleeve. She then bit it and nodded, "Good. It tastes nice. It's not that sour as I imagined."
Kelly was a little skeptical when she saw it. She also picked up one and bit it.
It was not sour but bitter and a little bit astringent.
It tasted awfully bad.
Kelly didn't want to eat it but when she looked up, she saw Ebony had eaten one and was picking up another one.
Kelly hesitated but took another bite.
Ebony put all the blackberries in her hat and held them in her arms. She sat down beside a big shady tree and started eating.
Ebony ate a dozen or so and felt full. When she looked up, she saw Kelly didn't finish one. She asked, "Do you feel your mouth is numb?"
Kelly nodded immediately, "Yes. I felt it just now!"
Ebony said, "That's right. Blackberry leads to anesthesia."
"..." Kelly looked at the remaining berry in her hand with a stiff face and was about to cry: "Why don't you tell me earlier?"
Ebony picked a few pieces of grass on the side of the road. She pinched the tenderest part of the grass tip and put it in her mouth to chew.
Kelly asked, "What are you eating?"
"Lemon stem," Ebony said, "It's not a real lemon. Because it tastes sour and astringent and its stem can be used as medicine, it's called the lemon stem. This leaf can relieve anesthesia and refresh the mind. You won't feel numb if you eat some. Eat it." She then gave the grass tip left in her hand to Kelly generously.
Kelly took a piece of it tentatively and sipped it in her mouth. After a while, she felt that it was not that numb.

Ebony glanced at her, "Idiot."
Kelly was speechless. She didn't study medicine, so she didn't know how to identify plants!
Kelly turned her head and didn't want to talk to Ebony.
But she could tell that Ebony would impossibly let her eat compressed biscuits. She sighed and accepted it so she ate the berry while eating the grass tip.
Kelly felt numb, and then not the next second. She seemed to take poison and then take the antidote. She kept eating and eating. And she didn't know why she was doing in this way.
When Kelly felt that she was full, she tidied up her clothes and was about to ask Ebony to set off.
But she saw Ebony climbing up the tree again.
"What are you doing?"
Ebony sat on the tree branches and said, "Get more berries and we can eat in the evening." Then she began to shake the tree and said, "Keep them."
