Ebony released the door frame that she was grabbing.

Ebony pursed her lips. She scratched her neck, then walked out slowly and sat on the sofa.


There was some distance between them. Ebony saw the remote control on the coffee table and asked tentatively, "Mr. Vasquez, watch TV?"


Lloyd still didn't answer her without looking up.
