Chapter 283 Hand with Fingers Interlaced

Chapter 283 Hand with Fingers Interlaced

Without saying a word, Ebony reached out and pushed away the face of the man in front of her.

Lloyd did not force her. He just stood there patiently and looked at her in silence with his deep-set eyes.

Ebony turned to the director and said, "Why do we have to add this shot? He was the one who said it, not me, so why do you want me to make up this shot?!"

With that, Ebony pushed Lloyd and turned to leave.

The chief director shouted, "Miss Gibson, you've signed the contract, which stated that you had to act according to the show's plots as required!"

Ebony froze and knitted her brows tightly!

Lloyd still stood there without expression, quiet and calm as if he was the most innocent of all.

Ebony got angry when she saw him like this!

She thought about it and finally said, "Stage kiss!"

The chief director was stunned for a moment, a little unhappy.

Ebony squared her shoulders and said, "The maximum I can accept is a stage kiss! Drop it if you don't agree!"

In the end, the chief director had no choice but to agree, and he said disappointedly, "Let's start then."

Ebony turned to look at Lloyd who was opposite her and warned, "Don't get any ideas!"

The man chuckled and did not answer.

Ebony thought that Lloyd would take advantage of her, but he didn't. He really did a stage kiss and nothing more.

But their lips were still very close even though it was a stage kiss.

Ebony did not want to look at Lloyd's eyes, so she just looked at the tip of her shoe.

They had to stay in the same pose for a long time because the photographer had to reorient the camera to capture it as a passionate kiss as possible.

As time passed by, Ebony gradually became a little distracted.

She caught a whiff of a faint fragrance in the air. It was the scent of the desiccant in Lloyd's suitcase.

He also used this scented desiccant in his wardrobe, so she often caught a whiff of it on his pajamas when she was at home.

Her thoughts drifted further and further away, until Lloyd who was in front of her suddenly said, "Okay."

Ebony was shocked and she looked up.

Lloyd turned at this moment to confirm with the chief director, "Is it okay?"

The chief director stared at the playback reluctantly, and said dully, "...It's ok."

Lloyd turned his eyes to Ebony and said, "Let's go."

Ebony and Lloyd walked together towards the other guests. Ebony was looking at Lloyd, who was so calm, steady, professional, restrained, and looked totally like a gentleman.

Ebony suddenly felt very ashamed that she had misunderstood Lloyd just now.

Actually, Lloyd was quite...

Ebony was startled. She suddenly looked down, and gazed fixedly and silently at Lloyd's fingers that had intertwined with hers at some time unbeknown to her.

Ebony pursed her lips, and after a while, she raised their interlaced hands, stared at him and asked, "What are you doing?"

Lloyd looked matter-of-factly at her and said confidently, "The kiss was a stage kiss, so there should at least be a reward."

Ebony was at a loss for words.

The shooting was over, and it was time to board the plane.

In the plane, boys sat with boys and girls sat with girls.

It would take a total of nineteen hours to travel from Bierske to Crocan in Sluvale.

Ebony had been listening to Kara telling her Little Facts About Fear of Love for 18 hours.

Kara said, "Have you seen the news that a boy burned all his girlfriend's clothes because he suspected that his girlfriend was cheating so that she couldn't go out even to work?"

Ebony said nothing.

Kara continued, "And there was the dismembered corpse. It was said that the two of them were already talking about getting married, but the young couple quarreled about whose name to buy the house under. In the end, the man killed the woman by mistake, and in order to destroy the evidence, he chopped up the corpse and threw it in the trash."

Ebony was speechless.

Kara continued on and on. Ebony did not know where Kara learned about so many cases. During the eighteen hours, she talked about all the big and small cases that happened in the past twenty years due to disputes in relationships.

What was more terrifying was that Ebony searched on her mobile phone and found that these cases were actually real. Many of them had been on the news and were not made up!

Ebony was dumbfounded and she asked Kara, "How did you know about all these?"

"All my family members are police officers," Kara said proudly.

Ebony did not expect that, and she asked inexplicably, "Then why do you be a celebrity?"

Kara said, "Because I'm useless. I have failed every physical fitness test since I was a child. My dad said that I don't have the ability to be a police officer, so I entered the entertainment industry."

Ebony said nothing.

The entertainment industry did not deserve this.

But Ebony could understand the reason why Kara was her fan now.

She said, "So do you like me because I'm good at martial arts, and because you know that I will be admitted into the military academy in the future?"

Kara was stunned for a moment, then shook her head and said, "No, I just think that you're cool when you're beating and scolding people."

Ebony was speechless.

Ebony's eyebrows twitched. She tried to get a hold of herself, and finally said, "It's reasonable that you can't be a police officer! You are not enlightened enough!""

Everyone finally got off the plane at twelve o'clock midnight in Crocan's time.

It was almost three o'clock when Ebony got home.

Ebony threw herself on the sofa and lay there as if she were paralyzed as soon as she got into the house.

Lloyd took their luggage upstairs. When he came down again, he saw Ebony crouching in front of the balcony and doing something secretly.

Lloyd walked over.

Just as he approached, he heard a sharp and familiar meowing of a cat.

"Meow~"

Lloyd said nothing.

Lloyd went a little closer and saw that it was that damned orange kitten again.

However, the orange kitten looked a little disheveled today. There was a bald patch on its back. Its body was much thinner, and its face was dirty.

Ebony touched the kitten's head with her fingers, and when she saw Lloyd approaching, she picked up the kitten and said to Lloyd, "It seems to have always stayed in our house. Look at the yard. It has built a nest there."

Lloyd frowned and glanced at the yard, and he saw that there were indeed two tattered clothes at the base of the wall.

"Where's its owner?" he asked blandly.

Ebony said, "I heard from the crew that its owner seems to keep it free-range, that is, it is more like a stray cat than a domestic cat, and the owner will not look for it even if it has been away from home for a few days."

Lloyd turned around and said, "I'll contact the crew."

With that said, he was going to pick up the landline to make a call.

The corner of his clothes was grabbed just as he started walking away.

Lloyd looked back and saw that Ebony was holding onto his clothes. She looked at him eagerly and said softly, "Lloyd, can we keep it?"

Lloyd squinted at Ebony. He was silent for a moment, and then said in a low voice, "Whether you can keep it or not depends on how much sacrifice you are willing to make."

Ebony was stunned for a moment and looked at him in puzzlement.

Lloyd raised his hand and tapped his lips with the tip of his index finger meaningfully.
