Chapter 60

Chapter 60
In front of Shawn, Vanessa could not count how many times she had scored her own goal.
She used her injury to test Shawn's bottom line step by step. When she discovered that he had almost unlimited tolerance for her, she began acting shamelessly.
However, it turned out that Shawn could easily gain the initiative.
Vanessa was motionless in Shawn's arms, but her brain ran at full speed.
Why should she live in his house suddenly?
She thought it was not good to live together so soon.
They seemed to have omitted too many procedures.
Were CEOs so efficient now?
What was more, did her requests have anything to do with living in his house?
He said as if he would go home for three meals a day if she lived in his house.
Right!
The case had been solved. Shawn didn't want to fulfill his promise at all but wanted to use it to meet his wishes.
How could he calculate so much even with her girlfriend?
Vanessa slowly raised her head, seriously pushed Shawn away, turned, and walked towards the office gate without saying anything, as if to say, "My play has been finished, and we can go home separately now."
Shawn took her by the wrist. "Where are you going?"
Vanessa still didn't look back and tried to appear calm.
"Go home to pack my baggage."
In fact, Vanessa never thought of refusing from beginning to end.
She found that she seemed to have some kind of disease. Seeing Shawn, she wanted to have physical contact with him. Even if they just held hands, she felt delighted.
And looking at her recent performance, she could not be reserved in Shawn's eyes.
It had always been like this. She could meet Shawn's requirements.
She was no longer as sick as she had been but walked out with a brisk step. Her long hair bounced gently behind her as she moved.
But after she took two steps, she suddenly turned back.
"What's the matter?"
Shawn had returned to his desk.
Vanessa smiled with her eyes shining like stars.
She didn't say anything but trotted back to Shawn, leaned over, and whispered, "I just want to kiss you."
Shawn didn't speak.
There was no expression change on his face, but he ducked.
He was refusing.
Vanessa got used to his demure manner, so she took another step closer, smiled, and pulled at his tie. "Just one kiss."
With that, she leaned over. Shawn turned his head slightly and didn't let her make it.
Vanessa was speechless.
Without changing her expression, she got up and looked around.
"Do you have any wine here? Give me some wine. Or I can drink alcohol directly."
Shawn still didn't move and sat quietly, watching Vanessa's performance.
"Stop it. This is the office."
"So what?"
Vanessa lost her interest. "There's no one else."
Shawn, "But I will get hard."
Vanessa froze and turned mechanically like a robot.
Shawn was sitting with the lens reflecting the computer screen's light, hanging coldly on the frame, showing that his eyes were very serious.
He looked at Vanessa so seriously.
"How did he manage to say such explicit things without blushing?" She thought.
Then he calmly loosened his tie and said, "If you don't mind, go on."
Vanessa blushed instantly and hurriedly went to get her bag.
"You'd better work hard."
She left without waiting for Shawn to answer.
When she reached the door, she pressed the button to open the door, but there was no response.
She pressed hard again, still so.
She felt a hot look shining on her, so she didn't dare look back and meet that line of sight.
She could only turn her back to the owner who was looking at her and say, "Your office door is broken."
"No, it's not."
His voice appeared beside her with the footsteps.
Then Shawn hugged her from behind. His breath wrapped Vanessa.
He bowed his head and kissed Vanessa's earlobe.
It was just a dragonfly kiss. He was meeting her demands.
But Vanessa could feel that he was really restrained.
The next second, however, Shawn pulled Vanessa's left hand up and pressed the open door button on the wall.
As her hand pressed the button, she felt a force coming towards her from behind.
Vanessa was suddenly nervous, and her sensory nerves were ten times more sensitive.
Then he just said in her ear, "You pressed it in the wrong place."
When she came out of the office and saw the staff coming and going, she bowed her head and hurried into the elevator.
Obviously, nothing too much had happened, but she was a little guilty, as if everyone could see the uncontrolled imagination in her mind.
She was not relieved until she got into the elevator.
After calming down, she finally felt the pain in her injured fingertips.
Back home, Vanessa could only operate everything with one hand, looked at the suitcase, and fell into confusion.
In fact, her injury was not so serious that she could not take care of herself. Her left hand wasn't hurt. However, doing makeup really became the biggest problem.
Because of her habits, she couldn't go to work with no makeup.
Just worrying, Zoie called.
Vanessa turned on the hands-free mode and threw her cell phone to her side. Then she tidied up her makeup bag and asked, "What's the matter?"
"I talked to the editor-in-chief today."
Zoie continued, "This is indeed a bad thing. We don't want such troublemaker to stay in the company."
While listening to her tone, Vanessa knew there would be a turning point.
"But after all, she didn't break the business rules in the contract."
Sure enough, as Vanessa expected, Zoie sighed, "And she is also a senior employee. If we fire her so mercilessly, it will make other employees feel cold in the heart."
Vanessa said without emotion, "So?"
Zoie said, "So after discussing with the editor-in-chief, we decided that since the spring recruit is about to begin, we would transfer her to the branch office. This would be a punishment for her."
After all, what Lily had done was not that heinous. Vanessa didn't want to destroy her.
The benefits and resources of the branch office were much worse than those of the headquarters, let alone the future career development.
Vanessa had no objection.
She thought for a moment and said, "Ms. Lopez, I'm taking annual leave."
Zoie, "Tell me what you think."
Vanessa took out the cosmetics she had sorted out and only filled the bag with skin care products. "Now I have a finger injury and can't do anything. Besides, I'm busy and felt a little tired recently. I don't want to see her again, so I'd better take this opportunity to take annual leave."
Zoie was silent for a moment and agreed, "Then you can apply it through the approval process."
Vanessa took a total of four days of annual leave. Plus the weekend, she got exactly six days off.
She packed her clothes according to her own time estimate.
When Shawn came to pick her up, he looked at her 24-inch suitcase and asked, "Is that all you have?"

"That's enough." Vanessa explained, "I took a few days off. According to the recovery time the doctor said, six or seven days is enough."
Shawn glanced at her, said nothing, and walked out with her suitcase.
This was her third visit to Shawn's house.
Vanessa told herself that this time she came as his girlfriend, so she should be aboveboard and confident.
However, she took more than ten steps in the two or three meters entrance passage.
Pulling the suitcase, Shawn suddenly stopped and looked back at her.
"What's the matter?"
Vanessa whispered.
"Didn't you dare go to a strange man's house in the middle of the night?"
Shawn looked at her up and down. "What are you afraid of now?"
"Am I afraid?"
Vanessa straightened her chest. "My foot hurts."
"Really?" Shawn looked at her legs. "Shall I take you in?"
Why did she feel this sentence so erotic?
Vanessa walked past him. "I'm not that delicate."
Shawn looked at her back and smiled slowly.
Within two minutes of their entrance, someone brought dinner.
The kitchen in this house was obviously just decoration.
Shawn put the suitcase in the living room and looked back to see Vanessa standing with her hands on her back, looking around. She was obviously nervous and a little excited. Shawn didn't know if he thought too much.
"Let's have dinner."
Vanessa turned her head. "Okay."
She went to the dining room and sat down elegantly.
Maybe he had arranged it especially for her. Her food was a bowl of porridge. There was a spoon beside the bowl.
Shawn got a bowl of normal rice and a pair of chopsticks.
Vanessa was not going to be self-reliant. She looked up at Shawn sitting opposite her.
Within a few seconds, Shawn had taken up his chopsticks and began to eat gracefully.
Vanessa coughed when she saw that he didn't even look at her.
"What's up?"
Shawn looked up.
Vanessa looked at the food in front of her, raised her eyebrows, and motioned with her eyes.
Shawn glanced at the dish through her eyes and said, "It's not garlic. It's Chinese onion."
Vanessa was speechless.
Who asked?
But wasn't that really garlic?
She glanced at it again. "How do they look exactly the same?"
"They just look similar." Shawn patiently explained to her, "One is Lycoris, the other is perennial bulb plants."
Vanessa nodded numbly, "I see."
Then she suddenly regained her sense.
"I didn't ask you that. Did you forget what you promised me this afternoon? Did you just try to trick me into coming to your house?"
Shawn raised his eyes, looked at her, swallowed the food in his mouth, and said, "Sure."
In the face of his straight eyes, Vanessa reacted strangely when she heard him say such shameless words frankly.
Instead of being angry, she felt a little flushed.
She made no more noise but lowered her head, slowly picked up the spoon with her left hand, and flipped the porridge in the bowl.
At this time, Shawn suddenly put down his bowl and chopsticks. He said nothing but went straight to her side, pulled back the chair, and sat down. Then he took away the bowl and spoon in her hand.
His series of actions were so coherent that before Vanessa could respond, he had already fed a full spoon of porridge to her mouth.
She stared at him without blinking.
Shawn was not in a hurry. After looking at her for a moment, he said, "Open your mouth."
Vanessa opened her mouth as if some switch had been pressed.
Even her swallowing move was mechanical.
The dining room was so quiet that she could only hear the sound of a spoon touching the edge of a ceramic bowl and the sound of their breathing.
Although Shawn was feeding her, he kept looking into her eyes and never looked at the bowl in his hand.
He was doing the gentlest thing, but his eyes were hot and direct, like a hot heat wave, flooding her from all directions.
Was he feeding her?
He was actually eating her.
After a while, Vanessa couldn't stand it. She closed her mouth and turned away.
"Are you full?"
She was still a little hungry.
She took the spoon from his hand.
"I'll eat it myself."
She bowed, ate by herself, and did not look at him again.
Shawn put his temple on the back of his hand and looked at her for a while. Finally, he gave a chuckle and sat back in his seat.
It was not eight o'clock after dinner.
Shawn had something to deal with. However, instead of going to the study, he took his laptop and sat in the living room.
Vanessa was playing on her phone in the living room. When she saw Shawn, she turned off the video and sat quietly to read the text.
A few minutes later, she found that Shawn was not very busy. He was just browsing through some emails.
So she began to be restless.
"I'm a little thirsty and want to drink some beverage. Can you get me a bottle?"
Shawn heard it but still focused on his computer.
A few seconds later, he stood up, fetched a bottle of water from the refrigerator, and handed it to Vanessa without saying a word.
Half an hour later, Vanessa said again, "I want to eat oranges. The doctor said that I should take more vitamins."
At the same time, Shawn's phone rang. It was a call from his assistant.
He put it on speaker and peeled the orange while listening.
Another half an hour later, Vanessa's neck ached after looking at her phone for a long time. She stretched her shoulders and neck, brushed her hair, and said, "I'm a little hot. Help me tie up my hair."
This was Shawn's knowledge blind area.
He put down his laptop and stared at the rubber band handed over by Vanessa for a while before raising his hand.
With her back to him, Vanessa felt her hair pulled and hurt from time to time.
"Ah, be gentle."
"It hurts. Be gentle!"
Although Vanessa kept nagging, Shawn didn't say anything. He was silently doing something he wasn't good at.
It took him several minutes to tie up a loose ponytail for her. He didn't show any impatience or say anything during the whole process. Then he began to look at the computer again.
Vanessa felt a little guilty after making so many requests.
She looked around the room quietly and nudged Shawn's arm with her elbow.
"Then you go on with your work. I'm going to take a shower and go to bed."
Shawn didn't even raise his head. "Okay."
Vanessa was speechless.
Why couldn't he understand her?
"I mean," Vanessa whispered, "where do I sleep?"
With his fingertips resting on the screen, Shawn turned to look at her as if he was asking, "Are you playing dumb?"
"Or where else do you think?"
Vanessa turned her head slowly and blinked her eyes. She didn't panic but only blushed.
Such an expression proved that she was asking knowingly.
"Then I'm going to take a shower."
She stood up and walked quickly to the bathroom.
"Vanessa."
Shawn suddenly stopped her.
Vanessa had a hunch. She stopped but did not look back.
"What?"
Shawn said slowly.
"Did the doctor say you need help when you shower?"
