Chapter 58

Chapter 58
Shawn didn't really turn around and left.
He stood behind Vanessa and sighed after watching her rummage through the storage bin to find her "boyfriend".
How could this be the case with the person who had impressed him at first glance at the industry event?
Feeling a human breath suddenly appear behind her, though familiar to her, Vanessa was still startled.
She grabbed the door and looked back at Shawn with some shock.
She seemed surprised that he didn't come out of the armrest box.
"Why are you here?"
Shawn glanced at the armrest box. "Or should I be in there?"
Vanessa was speechless.
"You've found your boyfriend. Why are you still standing there?"
Shawn grabbed her forearm, pushed her into the car, closed the door, and got on the other side.
Closing the door, he started the car. Vanessa was now firmly seated.
Then she finally felt a little humiliated.
He saw the whole process of her childish show.
"Why didn't you make a sound when you stood behind me?"
There was only an armrest box between Shawn and her, but it was like a mental hospital.
He glanced at her and said calmly, "It is disrespectful to the actors to interrupt their performance. I understand the basic play-watching etiquette."
Vanessa was speechless again.
Shawn raised his eyebrows. "Haven't you seen the stage play?"
"No." Vanessa moved to the side, stuck to the window, looked out, and said, "I'm not that elegant in good taste."
Shawn didn't speak anymore, just chuckled.
After a moment of silence, Vanessa suddenly asked.
"Where the hell did you just go?"
Shawn looked at her helplessly and pointed to a small paper bag at hand.
His sudden interruption caused Vanessa not to notice the paper bag he was carrying.
Now she found the coffee shop logo she knew was on the bag.
"Is it for me?"
Before Shawn could answer, she took the bag away.
Inside was a cup of hot cocoa.
Shawn nodded.
Vanessa held the cup and smiled. "You really know me. How do you know I like this?"
Shawn, "How much do you like it?"
Vanessa couldn't answer.
In fact, she was just making a few polite remarks to make Shawn feel they have a tacit understanding.
"Even if you betray me but buy this for me, I can forgive you immediately."
That was not true.
Shawn was just waiting for Vanessa when he saw the guests coming out of the roadside coffee shop with cups in their hands.
He got off the car without even telling the driver.
It was not until he came out of the coffee shop and looked at the hot cocoa in his hand that he felt incredible.
In fact, he was not careful in life, and he never paid attention to these trivial things.
He was seldom considerate, even to his relatives.
However, he did not get in touch with Vanessa for long, but he would have this kind of subconscious behavior.
She seemed to have a kind of natural magic, which pulled him from the indifferent high platform into the human life.
Vanessa didn't know what Shawn was thinking. She looked around, put in the straw, and drank the hot cocoa quietly.
After a while, she remembered something and handed the hot cocoa to Shawn's mouth.
"Would you like to have a taste?"
Shawn, "No, thanks."
Although she had guessed the answer, she couldn't help rolling her eyes.
She leaned against the window, drank slowly, and then put the cup into the cup holder.
Then she glanced at Shawn.
"Shall we not take this car next time?"
Shawn asked lightly, "Why?"
Vanessa didn't speak but just looked down at the armrest box between her and Shawn.
Everything in this car was good, but only two seats were in the back.
The middle armrest area had a refrigerator and a cup holder, which was comfortable and convenient.
But now, looking at the armrest area, Vanessa only felt it was like the Milky Way separating the Cowherd and the Weaving Maid.
She curled her lips and said sullenly, "Nothing. I don't like this car."
Shawn looked down to the armrest area, then her sullen expression, and smiled.
"But I like this car."
Vanessa turned her head. "I see. You can marry this car home."
Although she said so, she put her hand on the cup holder, palm up, leaning against the cup of hot cocoa. Her fingers were restlessly hooked.
It was an obvious hint.
The air was filled with tiny emotions, which swayed in Shawn's eyes with her moving fingers.
The corners of his mouth were pulled up uncontrollably by her small movements.
Shawn looked ahead and slowly raised his hand. The moment his fingertips touched Vanessa's palm, her eyes bent.
The next second, however, Shawn went straight to the hot cocoa.
Vanessa, "?"
She suddenly turned her head and saw Shawn's Adam's apple rolling gently, slowly drinking her hot cocoa and smiling.
Knowing she had been teased, Vanessa withdrew her hand, turned her head to the window, and muttered coldly, "Didn't you just refuse to drink it?"
Shawn took a sip and put it down.
He looked at Vanessa's back and reached for her hand.
Vanessa stubbornly pulled her hand away.
"This is the only chance."
Vanessa didn't speak.
But when her hand was held for the second time, she did not pretend to break free.
Because the moment he held her, he went his fingers through her fingers. Their fingers then interlocked tightly.
Vanessa found that he seemed to like entwining his fingers with hers.
Shawn took her hand and put it on his lap but still didn't say anything.
After a while, Vanessa suddenly felt a cold feeling on her wrist.
She looked back and saw Shawn lowering his head and slowly and carefully putting a bracelet on her wrist.
Vanessa, "What is this?"
He didn't speak.
He bowed his head and fiddled with the bracelet with his long fingers.
Obviously, he was not very good at doing such things. It needed the patience to wear a bracelet.
When Shawn silently wore her the bracelet, Vanessa watched him quietly.
It seemed to be getting quieter and quieter. Even the noise outside the window disappeared.
Vanessa heard her heartbeat amplifying in her ear.
She thought that this man had been far away from her. They were not in the same world at all.
He always stood high, where she needed to look up to see.
Now, he was putting on a bracelet for her patiently and carefully with his head bowed.
After wearing it, Shawn lifted Vanessa's palm and looked at it carefully.
The silver star decoration was dotted with several star-shaped pink crystals, making Vanessa's wrist look whiter and slimmer.

The light of crystal twinkled in his eyes. He again intertwined his fingers with Vanessa's and stroked her skin inch by inch.
The touch of his fingers was gentle. His joints were faintly white.
He was looking at her hand, but Vanessa felt his eyes were too hot as if he were looking at something else.
She unconsciously blushed.
She looked away from Shawn's eyes.
"What is this?"
It took Shawn a few seconds to answer Vanessa's question.
"Make up for your Valentine's Day gift."
Although she had guessed the answer, Vanessa was glad to hear him say so. She tried to be calm.
"Only for a Valentine's Day gift?"
The focus of Vanessa's sentence was on Valentine's day.
She thought that not only the previous Valentine's day should be spent together, but also new year's day and Christmas. If he had not been so reserved then, they should spend these festivals together.
However, Shawn thought that the focus of this sentence was on the number.
Thus, Vanessa received seven gifts early the next morning.
She opened them one by one and put them on the tea table, a little confused.
There was a bracelet, three necklaces, two pairs of earrings, and an anklet.
Vanessa picked up the exquisite anklet, stared at it, and dialed Shawn's phone with her other hand.
"What are you doing?" She blinked. "Do you want to open a jewelry store?"
"Those are for you."
Shawn said slowly, "Those are your Valentine's Day gifts every year in the past."
Vanessa was still happy even if she didn't fully understand Shawn's meaning.
She glanced into the mirror and saw her flushed cheeks.
"Then why seven?"
Shawn, "Every year since you were 18."
In an instant, Vanessa felt a cluster of fireworks blooming in her heart, and the hot and gorgeous fireworks filled her entire chest.
She felt dizzy and fell onto the sofa. She grabbed a pillow and stuffed it into her arms. She held it tightly to relieve the excitement brought by excessive joy.
She continued, "Then why since eighteen?"
Shawn, "I'm not interested in minors."
It had nothing to do with his answer. Vanessa was simply happy today. She lay on the sofa and laughed.
She looked at the ceiling. There was no light in the room, but there was a light flashing in her eyes.
Shawn's behavior today was also his consistent domineering style.
But it gave Vanessa a feeling:
Her whole first love belonged to him.
Vanessa was immersed in joy and did not speak. There was only her shallow breath on the phone.
Shawn was busy, but he didn't hang up.
Vanessa could occasionally hear him flipping through the papers.
The call lasted several minutes. After reading a report, Shawn naturally asked, as if he was talking to a person next to him, "What would you like to eat tonight?"
"Hot pot."
Vanessa didn't even think about it before saying, "The hot pot we went to last time."
Shawn, "OK."
After a pause, Vanessa suddenly sat up.
"Forget it. Your stomach is not feeling well."
"It's not that serious." Shawn said casually, "As long as you want to eat."
"Forget it. Let's go to Gerlyn Paszza."
"OK."
Vanessa hadn't been to Gerlyn Paszza for a long time.
The main reason was that she thought Jackson also liked this restaurant. If she met him, she would be very unhappy.
But now, she was completely relieved. Jackson was no longer in any of her thoughts in life.
In the evening, Gerlyn Paszza was full of guests as usual.
There were few chefs, so half of the guests in the lobby were facing the empty table, waiting for their dishes.
Vanessa sat next to Shawn. After waiting more than ten minutes, she drank two glasses of water and said, "I'm going to the bathroom."
Shawn nodded.
However, she had just left for two minutes, and Shawn met an incident.
A woman in high heels with a dish of vinegar suddenly sprained her foot when she passed Shawn. The plate of vinegar spilled all over Shawn's coat.
The pungent, sour smell instantly diffused around.
"Oh my God! I'm so sorry!" The woman immediately apologized again and again. But the moment she saw Shawn's face, she was stunned, and then her voice suddenly became soft, "I'm really sorry. I just didn't stand still. Did you get hurt?"
Shawn frowned and looked at the large stain on his clothes. The impatience and anger in his eyes were so obvious that he didn't even want to cover it up for politeness.
"No."
The woman bent over and pursed her lips. "Your coat is dirty. Shall I wash it for you? I'm really sorry."
As soon as she finished, she saw Shawn take off his coat and throw it casually on the bench.
"No need."
Although he didn't throw it directly on the ground, the woman could feel that he didn't want the coat.
"I'll buy you a new one."
The woman immediately took out her mobile phone. "Shall we change the WhatsApp number? I'll compensate you. I'm really sorry."
She looked at Shawn expectantly but did not notice a woman standing behind her.
Shawn's expression relaxed instantly after he lifted his eyes. Even his eyes turned gentler.
He refused again. "No need."
However, when the woman saw Shawn's expression change, she completely misunderstood it and determined to get Shawn's WhatsApp number.
"I must compensate you, or I'll fail to fall asleep because of feeling guilty tonight."
Vanessa almost exploded with anger at this remark.
How could she fail to fall asleep because of guilt? She was obviously attracted by his appearance.
She stood behind the woman angrily as if her eyes were on fire.
But the woman didn't notice her at all and was still tirelessly asking for Shawn's contact information.
"I'm really sorry. This coat should not be cleaned. I'll buy you a new one tomorrow. May you leave me a phone number?"
"I said, no need."
Shawn's expression was soft, but his tone was cold. "If you have to stand here, please move aside."
He lifted his chin toward behind her.
"You've been blocking my girlfriend for a long time."
The woman suddenly widened her eyes. When she looked back, she saw Vanessa with a gloomy face.
Then she felt embarrassed. Knowing that her intention was too obvious, she hurried away.
Vanessa sat down, unhappy.
She glanced at the woman and frowned. When she saw Shawn's coat, she was even angrier.
"Why don't you let her accompany you?" She said angrily, "This coat is so expensive. If she wants to compensate you, just let her compensate."
Shawn stared at her. Instead of being angry like just now, he smiled.
He whispered, "Vanna."
Vanessa said coldly, "What?"
Shawn tilted his head, glanced at her face, and said seriously, "Although you look adorable when you are jealous."
Vanessa snorted coldly, "Who said I..."
"But I am not willing to make you jealous."
