Chapter 55 I Wasn't Planning to Apologize Either
"Mom, I hit Zhu Tongtong only because he called me a fatherless runt!"
Seeing Chen Yinuo rushed over, Ye Youyou immediately made a sad face and tried to defend her actions.
"Let go of him immediately, Ye Chen!"
At that moment, instead of focusing on Ye Youyou, she was anxiously yelling at Ye Chen.
"Ye Chen grinned toward her.
Only then did he let go of Zhu Wen's wrist.

Lu Yanping turned towards Zhu Wen and roared.
She could not win in a fistfight and when she tried to scold them, she got threatened with violence instead.
The anger in her heart was far greater than the burning pain on her face. The only way for Lu Yanping to let off steam now was to call the police!

Chen Yinuo's heart throbbed wildly when she heard those words.
"Ye Chen, what the hell happened, what the hell did you do?" Chen Yinuo choked up and shouted at Ye Chen.
"Mrs. Chen, calm down! It's like this. Zhu Tongtong insulted Ye Youyou and Youyou hit him. It was just a squabble between children. Then Zhu Tongtong's mother came over and tried to hit Ye Youuou, but I stopped her. After that, your husband came over. Zhu Tongtong's mother... said some very hurtful things, so Mr. Ye gave her a slap!"

Zhou Xiaolan, the vice-principal, quickly gave her a summary of the incident.

"If they want to call the police, let them. We have video recordings that we can provide to you at any time. I wonder who will be on the losing end by blowing this up!"
The crowd of onlookers rose up.
Ye Chen was moved by their words.At the same time, it also made Chen Yinuo, who had yet to process through what happened, sigh with relief.
On the other end, Zhu Wen, who had pressed "11", could no longer get himself to press the last 0.
If what had just happened was really recorded, if it went viral, their family would be crucified by the court of public opinion!
He had only just been promoted to the position of Deputy General Manager.If that happened, he may have to abdicate just as he get to that position.
Thinking of that, he panicked.
And Lu Yanping was doing no better. She shouted, "You, you guys, what does this have to do with you? It's none of your business!"
Even though she was still abusive with her words, her tone of voice has lost that air of arrogance.
It seemed like she was shaken to her core too.
At this point, Chen Yinuo, who finally pieced together what happened, was also angry. Not to mention, it was their son who insulted her daughter in the first place.
Even if it was really Youyou's fault, how could a parent think of hitting a little girl because of a little squabble between children?
However, Chen Yinuo had to keep her emotions in check despite her anger as she did not want to make a big deal out of the incident.
She wanted to do that because she had been beaten down by life countless times in the past. It was not because she was trying to please others while undermining herself. 
For her, the more important was whether Youyou can continue to study in Bauhinia Kindergarten. She did not want the conflict between the children to continue on...
So she could only hold back her emotions and said to Lu Yanping, "Even though your son was the one that insulted her first, it was Youyou who raised her hand to hit him. So I will get my daughter to apologize and let bygones be bygones, okay?"
After that, she looked at Ye Youyou and said, "Youyou, apologize to your classmate!" 
"I won't! He started it first! He called me a fatherless runt! Why should I apologize to him? I won't do it!" said Ye Youyou stubbornly.
"Yinuo, she's right. Why should she apologize? Should she bite her tongue and tolerate the bullying? Wouldn't it make her a target for more bullying? "Do you think I want your apology? Both my child and me are beaten. Do you think an apology can fix everything?" shouted Lu Yanping in anger. She acted as if she was an innocent and blameless victim.
Ye Chen snorted coldly, "I wasn't planning to apologize either!"
He continued, "OK. Do what you want. I will be Don't you want to call the police? Go, go ahead and do it!"
"You..." Lu Yanping trailed off before she could finish.
Calling the police was obviously not an option for her anymore.
Seeing that the situation could be resolved peacefully, Zhou Xiaolan, the vice-principal, hurriedly stepped forward.
"Mr. and Mrs Zhu, Mr. Ye was certainly wrong to start the fight, but the cause of the incident was that Zhu Tongtong insulting Ye Youyou first, which led to the squabble between the children. I understand how you feel when your child got hit and why you were rash. Any parents faced with this will react the same way! No matter for the squabble between Zhu Tongong and Ye Youyou, or the conflict between you and Mr. Ye, your family's actions are inappropriate. So can you just let bygones be bygones?"  
Faced with Zhou Xiaolan's conciliatory words, Lu Yanping got angrier.
But there was no other way out for her. Zhou Xiaolan had thrown the ball into her court. If they did not choose to back out, then they would have to go to the police.
"So does that mean that my son and I were beaten up for nothing? Lu Yanping said.
"In the same vein, does it mean Ye Youyou's family were scolded for nothing? What do you think?" said Zhou Xiaolan. She still stood up for what she thought was right.
Although it was certainly wrong for Ye Youyou to hit someone. But taking into account what Zhu Tongtong and his mother said, being beaten was hardly a surprising result.
"I'll...I'll give you face this time, Principal Zhou. I will not quarrel with them! But I have a request, get them to delete all the videos!" said Lu Yanping as she gritted her teeth. She had no choice but to back down.
"Of course, I'll give you my word on this. The kindergarten doesn't want to make a big deal out of it, lest the kindergarten draws attention from the public!" Zhou Xiaolan answered. 
She turned around and asked the parents who were watching to delete the videos they took. The parents were cooperative and did as they were told.

Before she left, Lu Yanping did not forget to shout at Ye Chen one last time.

"Thank you!" said Ye Chen sincerely as he clasped his fist and bowed to the onlooking parents.
