Chapter 112 The Couple Gives Each Other Silent Treatment
Honor Land was a high-class villa area in Watenll City. Those who could live here were either rich or noble.
When Hubert had not gotten married to Teresa, he lived here almost every day. And he would go back to the Donavan Mansion occasionally to spend time with the elders.
The villa he lived in was originally several small villas. After he bought it, he rebuilt a large villa with front and back gardens. Although it was not as large as the Donavan Mansion, it was very spacious for him to live alone.
Mr. Vega, the housekeeper, knowing Hubert was coming back in hunger, had the kitchen prepare lunch in advance.
Hubert got up late. So, he could only have his lunch and breakfast together now.
After returning to his familiar home and having enough food, Hubert felt his bad mood slightly better.
Sitting on the couch, he called Morgan.
Morgan was not awake yet. Yesterday, he and Dean both sacrificed themselves to accompany Hubert to drink. Hubert was good at holding his liquor. He was not too drunk. But Morgan was so drunk that he needed to let the hotel staff take him home.
Dean could hold his liquor better than Hubert. He wasn't drunk at all. But he couldn't drive after drinking. So, he simply stayed at the hotel for the night.
"Boss."
Morgan's voice was a little hoarse. "Morning."
Hubert said after a moment of silence, "It's not morning. I just finished my lunch."
Morgan, "..."
He moved the phone away from his ear and looked at the time. It was really noon. No wonder he felt a stomach ache when he was woken up by his boss's call. Luckily, his head didn't hurt. Otherwise, he would have to stay in bed all day.
"What's wrong?"
"Do you have anything to do this afternoon?"
Morgan sat up abruptly. Then he moved his phone from his ear to make sure he was talking to Hubert, his boss as well as his friend. He laughed, "You actually took the initiative to ask me?"
"What, you don't have to spend time with your wife on Sunday?"
Hubert's face was grim, but Morgan couldn't see it.
Hubert would not say anything about his fight with Teresa. He said in a light tone, "Whenever she has a break, she goes to her sister's house to help the kid. Or, she will go shopping with her best friend. I don't have to spend time with her."
Morgan knew that Teresa and her sister were dependent on each other. So, he didn't doubt what Hubert said and replied, "I'll call Dean and see what he has planned. Then I'll let you know."
"OK."
Hubert did not want to stay alone.
When he was alone, he would always think about what happened last night.
He and Teresa had sort of had a fight, right? And today, they were ignoring each other. Was this a silent treatment?
Dean suggested going golfing.
So the three of them went to play golf.
Teresa, on the other hand, knitted crafts in her store and didn't go home all day. She had her lunch and dinner at the store. It was until 8 o'clock in the evening she closed the store and took her electric bike home.
She also brought the fortune cat she had promised to give to Hubert, as well as the golden dragon.
Because she gave the fortune cat which should be his beforehand to Sophie, he went angry. So, she promised to give him an extra dragon to make him feel better.
Now, she brought the knitted fortune cat home to him, not to give him a way out. She just felt that since she promised to give it to him as a gift, she should hurry up and give it to him as soon as possible. She didn't want to owe him.
When she arrived home, the house was still empty. There was not even one shadow.
Teresa put the fortune cat and the dragon on the coffee table. Then she went to the balcony to water the flowers and plants. After that, she sat on the swing chair and quietly looked at the night scene outside.
Watching the view outside, she was sleepy. So, she leaned on the swing chair and wanted to take a few minutes' nap. However, when she woke up, it was five in the morning. It was almost dawn.
She had slept outside on the balcony all night.
When she woke up, Teresa knew that Hubert had stayed out all night last night. Or, he would have woken her up.
He was aloof. But he was not a robot. He was good to her actually. He had given her everything that a wife should have.
She got up, left the swinging chair, and went back to the hall. After she turned on the light, she saw the two artifacts she brought back still on the coffee table. Teresa was silent for a moment, then walked to Hubert's room.
The door was locked. She did not have his key and could not open it.
She guessed that he hadn't come back.
It was Monday. It was a new week.
Although Hubert hadn't come home all night, Teresa hadn't called him. He was still mad at her. So why should she go and make a fool of herself?
She would bet that he wouldn't be willing to take her call if she really called him.
Since Hubert was not home, Teresa did not eat breakfast at home. After dawn, she took her car keys and went downstairs, intending to go out for something to eat. Then she was going to pick up Andy from Leila's house. Leila was going to continue looking for work today.
Seeing a Chevrolet exactly the same as Hubert's in the parking space downstairs, Teresa stopped and stared at the car. She remembered the license plate number. And it was Hubert's car.
After a while, Teresa took out her phone and sent a message to Hubert anyway.
She asked him, "Are you going to work today? I saw your car still parked downstairs."
After sending the message, she walked to her car.
Soon, Teresa drove away.
When she arrived at her sister's house, to her surprise, Patrick was back.
Patrick took the initiative to greet his sister-in-law.
Teresa froze slightly, "Patrick." Then she asked, "Are my sister and Andy up yet?"
"Leila is in the kitchen preparing breakfast. Andy isn't up yet."
Teresa felt that Patrick was quite polite to her after he returned. But Teresa and Patrick had never had much to talk about, and she went straight into the kitchen.
Patrick went outside on the balcony to smoke.
Actually, he was avoiding Leila and Teresa to send Isabelle messages. He said to Isabelle, "Honey, no need to eat breakfast. I'll go to Watenll City Hotel later and pack you a delicious breakfast. It will be better than the roadside stalls you usually eat."
Isabelle quickly replied to him, "Thanks honey. Then I'll wait at the office for the delicious loving breakfast you packed for me."
Patrick sent her a kiss emoji.
Isabelle suddenly asked him, "You're home, right?"
"I'm home. I bought this house, and I'm paying the mortgage. It's mine. Why shouldn't I live in it?"
Isabelle took a while to reply, asking, "Is your wife's name on the house that you are living in?"
"No. I bought it before I got married. I didn't add her name. But I'll add your name to it when we get married."
He was treating Isabelle with heartfelt love now.
Isabelle smiled quite happily. She knew the neighborhood where Patrick lived. The price was expensive. Patrick's house was worth a million dollars. He did not add Leila's name to the property, but was willing to add her name. So, he was really in love with her, right?
Soon, Isabelle asked him again, "Patrick, did you make up with your wife when you got home? Did she apologize to you?"
