Chapter 063 Leila poured out her grievance

Chapter 063 Leila poured out her grievance
"I took all the gifts that Teresa and Hubert bought last time because I was so upset about the matter of going halves at that time"
Leila sat down on a chair. Teresa went into the small kitchen, took some fruit from the refrigerator. After washing them, she took them to Leila, and Gwendolyn poured Leila a cup of warm water.
Leila took a few drinks of water. She was not really above talking about her family scandal because she had been bottling up her grievance and anger. She longed to get them off her chest to her sister.
Leila was afraid that she would be depressed if she didn't pour out her heart to someone. Moreover, Gwendolyn was also someone Leila had been knowing for years, so Leila knew that she would keep her secret.
Leila said, "The next day when I got up, I found out that Patrick had already sent his family away, which was something I was hoping for. But they also took away all the gifts that Tess and her husband brought over."
"Even some of the toys for Andy were taken away by Priscila. I was so angry, but Patrick said we had everything, so he asked her sister to take them to their home."
"Does her sister lack those things? She and her husband both have jobs, and my parents-in-law are both insured and also help take care of her children. My parents-in-law's pensions would be enough for them to make a living, but they still want money from Patrick. I am sure the money goes to his sister's."
"Patrick's sister and her husband save their incomes and spend their parents' and Patrick's money. If Patrick didn't have a family of his own, it'd be unobjectionable as long as he was willing to. But Patrick has a family of his own and we have a mortgage to pay. How can they still feel at ease spending Patrick's money to feed their family?"
Leila felt like her husband was unable to see the big picture. He knew his parents used his money to subsidize their daughter's family, and he still transferred money to them every month, yet he was very stingy to his wife. Leila was very angry with her husband about it.
Leila also scolded her parents-in-law's family for being hypocritical. Before marriage, they pretended to be so nice, and they had been acting that way for years. Eventually, she fell for it. However, their true colors revealed after she got married and had the baby.
"It's a normal thing for the son to take care of his parents, but what the heck it is feeding his sister's family? I didn't ask him not to give money at all; I just told him not to give that much because we need to save money for Andy to go to kindergarten. He just turned a deaf ear to my words and required to split bills with me instead, as if I spent a lot of his money."
Leila regretted quitting her job so early to stay at home being a housewife.
Once a woman had no financial resource, and could only reach out to her man for the money, she lost the confidence to be free with her opinions anymore.
Now she had truly been through the suffering of it.
Luckily, her sister has been supporting her, so she didn't have to be very careful with money.
Gwendolyn was astonished, and she said, "Most parents tend to subsidize their sons, but why do Patrick's parents subsidize their daughter from the benefit they got from their son? It's fine if the daughter were not doing okay, but her family are well-off. They have a house, a car, savings and all that."
Teresa had long known what kind of people Patrick and his family were. She took Andy from Gwen's arms and said to her sister, "Leila, you can leave Andy to me and go look for a job now. I'll look after Andy for you during the day."
"Not for anything else, just in case when you want a divorce with him some day, you'll have the strength fighting for Andy's custody. If you don't have the source of income, how can you fight his custody?"

Gwendolyn was shocked, but thinking of Patrick and his family's bad character, she thought that Leila would divorce sooner or later.
Having such husband, parents-in-law and Priscila, if Leila could endure a lifetime, she would be the biggest dummy in the world.
Leila looked at her son and said, "I'll have to give it another two or three months. The New Year is coming soon. Andy will be old enough to go to kindergarten after the New Year, and you can help me pick him up after school.
She had to look for a job.
Even if she couldn't be a senior executive again like before she got married, she could still find a satisfactory job with her ability.
Teresa agreed, and she kissed her nephew, jokingly asked, "Andy, do you want to go to kindergaten?"
"No."
He was at an age where he liked to cling to his mother.
Teresa smiled and said to her sister, "Have you decided which kindergarten to send Andy to? If so, you can take Andy to the kindergarten on weekend to play and get familiar with the environment. If he has fun, he won't resist going to the kindergarten any longer."
On weekends, many kindergartens allowed parents to take their children to visit and have fun.
Leila said yes and continued, "There's one more thing that makes me very angry. Priscila told your brother-in-law that she is going to transfer her two children to a school in the city and want them to stay at my house. She asked me to help her send and pick up the children, cook and help with their homework. I feel like I am treated as a free babysitter, right?"
"Your brother-in-law said he would give me extra 300 dollars as spending money, and he also said it was no big deal taking care of two more children. I'm willing to take care of my own child no matter how tiring it is. But why would I bother myself taking care of someone else's children without doing myself any good?"
"He also said he wanted to transfer ownership of the house to his sister, and with the school district house, his sister's children would be easier to be admitted to the school. I feel like he has rocks in his head. If the ownership were transferred, could we still be able to ask it back later?"
Teresa and Gwendolyn were both speechless while listening.
Much to their surprise, Leila was experiencing the type of strange stories they often saw online.
Since Leila had already poured out her heart to them, she wanted to say as much as she could. She took a few drinks of water and then continued, "Tess, I also told your brother-in-law that if he is about to transfer ownership of the house to his sister, he has to return the expense of renovation to me, just in case I'll be left with nothing in the end."
"It cost me 70 thousand dollars to renovate the house."
All her savings from years of work went into running that small home.
"If he doesn't pay me the expense of renovation, I'll divorce him. Tess, please help me keep an eye out for a suitable house. I will rent a house then. Our marriage will soon come to an end if he keeps being so stupid like this."
Husband's indifference and dislike to her really took a toll on her.
Leila had never been so disappointed that she wanted a divorce before, but the attitude of her husband and in-laws after the two recent problems had truly disheartened her.
She began to think about the matters of after the divorce. She needed to put her affairs in order and be prepared for it.
Patrick bought the house, so she wouldn't get anything. But she paid for the renovation, she had to take it back.
"The two problems I ran into and his attitude towards me made me very disappointed"
Leila's eyes were red as she spoke.
The sisters finally had made it to their day, but to their dismay, Leila married such a man.
That was also because she was blind and fooled by Patrick. She thought she married a good man, but it was quite the opposite.
