Chapter 223 Marriage Belongs to Two Parties
Sophie said gratefully, "Teresa, if you help us find my aunt, you will be our family's benefactor, and our family will thank you from the bottom of our hearts."
"We are friends, so don't be so polite. I thought of my mother. If my mother were still alive, my sister and I would do our best to help my mother find her relatives."
Her mother has been dead for more than ten years, and Teresa doesn't have a deep impression of her mother. Fortunately, her elder sister looks like her mother, and she can remember her mother's appearance only by looking at her elder sister.
"Teresa, I won't disturb you and your husband's date, have fun. When the wedding is held, you must inform me, and I will be your bridesmaid."
Sophie teased Teresa and ended the call voluntarily.
"Miss Lisbon again?"
Hubert asked nonchalantly.
"Well, Sophie wanted to come over with us, but when she heard that I was with you, she gave up this idea."
Hubert snorted coldly in his heart, "That's well."
"Sophie is actually very good, your boss..." Teresa sighed when she thought that Young Master Donovan had put on his wedding ring, "The two of them are destined to have nothing to do with each other."
"What were you two talking about? I heard you mention my mother-in-law." Hubert staggered the topic.
He didn't want to gossip about his own things with her all the time.
Teresa walked shoulder to shoulder with him, holding hands and walking forward, saying as they walked, "Sophie said that she was focusing on finding her aunt now. It's better if she has something to do, lest she keeps thinking about your boss."
"I didn't expect that Mrs. Lisbon grew up in an orphanage. She also had a younger sister who was adopted. Unfortunately, her younger sister had been abandoned several times later, so she can't find her younger sister now."
"My mother was also adopted by my grandparents, but my mother has no relatives to look for her. She has no memory of her childhood. What she remembers is that her adoptive parents in the previous family also liked to beat and scold her. She couldn't bear it, so she escaped."
"She was only seven or eight years old when she escaped. She couldn't support herself. Later, she was so hungry that she fainted on the side of the road. She was picked up by my grandparents and adopted. She lived a stable life. Later, she met my dad and married him. Then we sisters were born. Both my parents were diligent and hard-working, and the family conditions were getting better and better, but..."
She didn't say any more.
Hubert knew about those things.
"Mrs. Lisbon is thinking about her younger sister. The family has contributed money and effort and has never given up looking for her. Sophie's aunt may have had the misfortune, but she is much luckier than my mother. At least some relatives miss her."
"My mother can't remember whether she has any relatives. When she was young, her living environment was always changing. She was always beaten, scolded, and starved. She had a serious illness. After that, she couldn't remember anything before the age of seven or eight."
Hubert held her hand tightly and said in a deep voice,
"Your mother has no relatives to look for, which suggests that either her relatives are gone, or she was abandoned. In the past, many daughters were abandoned because they just didn't want them."
Teresa thought for a while and said, "That's right if my mother was abandoned, there is no need to find her family even if they are alive."
Mentioning the deceased mother, Teresa became depressed, "Hubert, I really want to go back to pay homage to my parents. Since they drove my sister and me out of the Hellereign Village, we haven't visited my parents' graves. They won't let us go there. They warned and threatened us that if we dare to go there secretly, my mother's grave will be razed to the ground.
"Later, my parents' graves were moved. Now I don't even know where my parents' graves are."
Teresa was unwilling to reconcile with their relatives in her hometown, mainly because they had gone too far.
Anyway, they were their parents. Teresa couldn't forgive that they banned them to visit their graves. They used to be young and unable to resist. However, as they grew up, their relatives moved the graves of their parents without telling them, so that they could not find them if they wanted to visit the grave.
She could never forgive or reconcile with them since they had done such a terrible thing.
Hubert stopped.
Teresa also stopped.
The couple looked at each other. Hubert held her shoulders, promising,
"Teresa, I promise you will go back to pay a visit to your parents' grave and get back to the house your parents left behind."
"That's for sure. I will file a lawsuit against them to get my parents' house back!"
"Since you have such self-confidence, don't be depressed anymore. We are out to play today, and we must have fun. The unresolved matters left over from the past will be resolved one by one."
He took Teresa into his arms, tightened his arms, and said in a deep voice, "I'm always behind you. Don't worry no matter what happens."
Teresa didn't struggle but quietly leaned against his chest. After a while, she left his embrace.
The face is a little red.
"So many people."
Hubert took her hand as if nothing had happened, and continued to walk forward, "We are a couple, not having an affair. Why are you so shy?"
Teresa was speechless.
"No wonder my sister always wants me to treat you better.
"He had already overcome her sister's challenge with his actions.
After the impromptu marriage, Teresa gradually found that although this man had flaws, his strengths outweighed his flaws. Besides, everyone had flaws, and she also had flaws.
In the face of major events, Hubert was much better than that scumbag Patrick.
Teresa's heart, which was already a little restless, became fanatical for Hubert again.
She must find a chance to steal his agreement and ruin it. Then, she could flirt with him unscrupulously. Once they became a real couple, he would never mention the half-year agreement again.
She turned her head to look at his face which was tense all the time.
Teresa sighed, she had better train her heart to be stronger first, otherwise, the fire in her heart would be extinguished immediately in the face of his coldness.
"Then be nice to me."
"Am I not nice enough to you?"
Hubert pursed his lips and stopped talking.
Both of them were treated well by each other. Teresa was not the kind of person who only enjoyed other people's kindness but didn't reciprocate it.
If he treated her kindly, she would return his kindness.
He was very kind to her, and so was she. Anyway, she didn't want to owe him.
If he wanted her to treat him better, he had to treat her better first.
Marriage could last long only if husband and wife worked together.
"Where are Grandma and Linda? I can't see them anymore."
Teresa remembered Vivian and hurriedly asked Hubert, "You are taller than me and can see far. Have you seen them in front?"
Hubert took a look and replied, "I haven't seen them. It's okay. My grandma has been here several times and is very familiar with this place. Just call her later and ask her to wait for us in the restaurant."
There was no one more familiar with this place than them because this garden belonged to them.
Hubert wasn't worried that grandma would go away at all.
He dared to say that Grandma and Linda walked so fast on purpose.
They deliberately pushed Andy's stroller away quickly to let the couple be alone and enhance their relationship and taste the sweetness of dating.
