Chapter 218 A Good Match

Chapter 218 A Good Match
The rain fell all night and stopped at dawn.
Teresa woke up at her usual time.
When she opened her eyes, she saw Hubert's handsome face. She froze for a second and then remembered what happened last night. So, she hurriedly sat up and was about to slip away gingerly.
After a second thought, she looked back at Hubert and nudged him tentatively. He was still sleeping soundly. She thought that it was normal for him to sleep soundly because he had depended on coffee all day yesterday. Anyway, he had taken the day off from work today. She should let him sleep a bit late.
Teresa didn't mean to disturb Hubert, but what she was doing was disturbing him.
Teresa could not resist kissing him a few times on his handsome face, muttering, "Your appearance is even better than mine. I would have already pounced on you if you are not wearing that aloof and serious look every day. When my mind is stronger, I will make you mine."
After stealing a few kisses, Teresa thought of the most important thing. His room was forbidden to her. She could hardly come in once. And it was nearly impossible to find another chance to sneak into his room while he was still asleep. So, why didn't she take the opportunity to find his copy of the agreement and destroy it?
Otherwise, she would always feel unprotected because her copy of the agreement had been inadvertently destroyed by him.
Thinking this way, Teresa started to look for the agreement in Hubert's room while he was still sleeping. She didn't dare to make too much noise for fear of waking him up.
Unfortunately, she even checked the space under the bed. But she couldn't find Hubert's copy of the agreement.
There was also a safe in his room, which she could not open.
"Is it in the safe?"
Teresa muttered to herself, 'It's just an agreement. Why would he lock it in a safe?'
She was right that he was keeping the agreement as if it were Holy Writ.
Without any success, Teresa left quietly with her pillow in her arms. She left Hubert's room early in the morning. Everyone except her was still in dreams. She quietly went back to her room and pretended that she had stayed in the same bed with Vivian all night.
Vivian was not snoring at that moment.
But it was already dawn.
After changing her clothes and washing up, Teresa was about to go out when Vivian woke up.
"Good morning, Grandma."
Vivian smiled, "Good morning, are you going out?"
"Yeah, I'm going to buy groceries."
"I'll go with you."
"Sure. Then, I'll wait for you."
Vivian got up quickly.
Ten minutes later, not only Vivian but also Linda was going with Teresa. The three women went to the market to buy groceries.
When they came downstairs, they saw Steven outside.
Steven's instinctive reaction was to scramble into the Green Belt. When he remembered that his identity should be a chauffeur, he controlled his impulse not to jump into the Green Belt.
Teresa smiled at Steven and said, "Good morning."
Steven hurriedly responded, "Good morning. You are going to the market?"
"Yeah."
Steven smiled and didn't say anything else.
Teresa didn't talk to him any longer and walked to her car. After she unlocked the car, she let Vivian and Linda get into the car first. Then she drove them to the market.
Vivian pretended to ask Teresa casually, "Do you know that man just then? Is he a neighbor?"
"Yeah, he's living in our neighborhood. But I don't know which building he lives in. I've seen him around a lot, so I think he lives near our building. Every time Hubert had gotten drunk, he would ask that guy to be his chauffeur and bring him back. That's how I know him."
'Steven is smart and quick in reaction. The story he made up is quite reliable.' Vivian thought to herself.
Vivian decided to talk to the head of the security department to give Steven a pay rise.
When Hubert woke up and found Teresa was gone, he didn't have a happy look, muttering to himself, "You slept with me and slipped away without waiting for me to wake up."

If Teresa could have heard him, she would have said, "... Dude, be careful with what you say. I didn't sleep with you. I only slept in your bed."
Then, Hubert could have nothing to say.
When he got out of the room, he found that only he, a dog, and two cats were left in the house. The three women were gone.
He didn't have to ask. He knew they had gone to the market to buy groceries.
Hubert sat down on the swing chair on the balcony.
He reminisced about last night when he slept in the same bed with his wife.
He summed up in a line, "I'm not used to it, but I'm looking forward to it."
Shortly after, Teresa and the other two returned.
In addition to groceries, Teresa also bought bedding. The furniture store was not open, so she hadn't picked out a new bed yet. She would go out again later to buy the new bed and put it in place. Then she could go to work at ease.
'Oh, I didn't need to work today.' Teresa suddenly remembered.
Hubert took the day off and said he would take her and Vivian to West Land Resort to take a break and to cheer Vivian up.
Hearing the sound of talking, Hubert walked back from the balcony. Seeing his wife's carrying many big bags with bedding inside, he changed a deeper look but didn't say a word.
"Hubert, you are still at home. I thought you went to work."
Vivian looked at her grandson with a fierce look.
'It was a waste of my performance and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.'
'What a slow learner!' Vivian scolded Hubert in her mind.
"Grandma, I've asked for a day off today. So, after breakfast, we will go to Brightview Land to pick up Andy first, and then we will go to West Land Resort in the western suburbs to take a walk."
Hubert ignored Grandma's glare as he walked over and explained why he was still staying at home.
He walked over to help Teresa with her bags. They took the bedding into the empty guest room together.
Hearing his words, Vivian asked him, "How many days will we spend there?"
"Just one day."
"That's West Land Resort. What's the fun of going for one day? One day is not enough at all. Since you took the day off, the next two days are the weekend, why can't we stay at West Land Resort for three days?"
Hubert looked at Teresa and said in a warm and deep voice, "My sister is going to talk to Patrick Cerone about their divorce tomorrow. We are her family. We must be there to support her. We can't let the Cerone family take the lead and bully my sister."
Teresa looked at him gratefully.
Vivian thought, 'Well, you brat. You finally find your way.'
Hubert referred to Leila as his own sister rather than his sister-in-law, which was so sweet and touching. Teresa looked at him with strong affection and admiration in her eyes. 'Good. Good! Keep up the good work, kid. Soon I'll have a great-granddaughter.' Vivian thought.
"This is true. We'll all go over there tomorrow. We have many people, and we are not afraid to fight the Cerone family, both physically and verbally."
Hubert gave an "uh-huh" as a response. He didn't object to his grandmother going along.
His grandmother was a very tough person when she was young. Although she was aged and might not be able to fight physically as well as she was young, he still thought that no one could defeat her in terms of verbal fights.
Leila's mother-in-law and sister-in-law were two extremely shameless people. If Leila got into a verbal fight with them, she would need an elder like his grandmother to help her win.
"Tess, you have to remind your sister to guard against Patrick Cerone transferring his property. Does your sister know about his income? If the accounts don't match up, you guys have to check them out thoroughly. Don't let that mistress take advantage of it."
The elders had more experience.
Vivian thought a little more than young people.
"When these scums transfer their property, their favorite access is to transfer the money belonging to them and their wife to their other family members. I have an old friend whose grandchildren work in banks. If you need someone to check on if Patrick Cerone has transferred his property with Leila to his original family, feel free to ask."
