Chapter 44 The Toy Got Dirty
Teresa knew that those people in her hometown would not give up. When they thought about the sisters' residence, they found they didn't know it. In the big city, it would not be easy for them to find the sisters. After getting angry once, Teresa didn't care about it anymore so as not to affect her mood to go to her sister's house for dinner.
Hubert listened to the conversation between the grandfather and grandson and took it to heart.
He had asked Morgan to help him investigate the information of all members of the Heller family, and he believed there would be results soon.
The couple went downstairs to Leila's house and happened to see Leila going downstairs to throw garbage.
"Leila." Teresa was very happy to see Leila and walked towards Leila first.
"Teresa, nice to see you." Leila's tired look was gone when she saw her sister and her husband. Seeing Hubert getting out of the car with bags, she complained about her sister and her husband, "You're not outsiders. It's just dinner. Who brings so many things?"
"Leila, it's just some fruit."
Hubert sounded very affectionate. Leila liked her brother-in-law more and more. He was honest and quiet, but very considerate of her sister.
If Teresa knew what Leila was thinking about Hubert in this way, she would be amused.
"Hasn't Patrick come back yet?" Teresa took Leila's arm affectionately and said, "Where's Andy?"
"Patrick is on the way back and he should be here soon. Andy is upstairs. My in-laws and Priscila's family are all here. Only when they watch Andy can I go downstairs to throw garbage."
Hearing that her sister's in-laws were here, Teresa frowned, but she didn't say anything after all.
There was something that the sisters would rather talk about in private than say in front of Hubert.
The Cerone family also knew about Teresa's marriage. As soon as Patrick's sister Priscila came over, she told Leila that she would send her three children to the city to go to school, and let her three children live in Leila's house and let Leila take care of them. She said Leila was a housewife and she could certainly take care of three children if she could take care of her son.
Priscila had long had this idea, but unfortunately, her brother's house was not big enough to live in. Her daughter was eleven years old this year and would enter junior high school next year. Her eldest son was ten years old. The two were too old to share a room. Her youngest son was three years old, so he had to sleep with the adults.
Now that Teresa had married and moved out, she vacated the room just for her two children.
She had complained in front of her younger brother Patrick countless times before, saying that she had seen a married daughter living with her elderly parents, but she had never seen a married girl living with her younger sister. She didn't like Teresa living in her brother's house because Teresa occupied a room, leaving no place for her children to live.
Patrick had always been partial to his family, so he didn't like Teresa and often quarreled with his wife, successfully forcing Teresa to move out of Leila's house.
Leila walked the couple upstairs. As soon as they got out of the elevator, she heard her son crying, "Andy is crying."
Teresa was more impatient than Leila. Leila took out the key to open the door and said, "It must have been the two children fighting over toys."
Her sister-in-law Priscila brought her third child who was one year older than Andy. The two children played together and would always fight for things.
Leila opened the door and went in. Andy ran over with his beloved toy and asked Leila to hold him.
Priscila's younger son came after him, crying, "I want the plane in Andy's hand."
Andy immediately hid his toy plane in his arms, and turned his head nervously to look at his cousin, shouting, "Mom, hug me."
Leila picked up her son.
"Leila, tell Andy to give the plane to my son to play with. My son is here as a guest. Andy should be nice to my son." Priscila came over and first wiped away tears for her younger son. Then she stood up and reached out to grab Andy's toy plane. Andy refused to let go, but Priscila tried to grab it. But when she saw Teresa and Hubert carrying a large bag, she immediately withdrew her hand.
She greeted Teresa with a smile, "Teresa, long time no see. Is this your husband? He looks handsome and imposing."
Not only was he handsome, but his temperament and demeanor were many times better than her younger brother who was a manager in a big company.
Priscila was jealous of Teresa in her heart.
"Priscila, long time no see. This is my husband, Hubert."
Priscila hurriedly greeted Hubert. Hubert nodded slightly and did not speak, and looked very cold.
When Hubert walked in and saw Priscila going to grab Andy's toy for her son to play with, he didn't like this woman. Andy was small and the toy belonged to Andy. Why should Andy give it to his cousin?
Hubert was a protective person, and he liked Andy very much. Naturally, he couldn't bear to see Andy wronged.
Leila welcomed the couple into the house. Priscila picked up her son who was probably spoiled, still crying for Andy's toy.
When Patrick's parents saw that Teresa and her husband had bought so many things, they both smiled. They didn't like Teresa before, but now Teresa had gotten married and moved out. They had heard that her husband bought a house in Florence Garden at full cost and he was a leader in a large company. Their attitude towards Teresa had completely changed.
Everyone sat down. Hubert put the things he had bought on the coffee table.
Priscila saw a new toy, and quickly opened the bag, took out a new set of toys, and gave it to her son, "Baby, don't cry. Let's play with the new toys, not Andy's old toy."
Hubert looked at Priscila with gloomy eyes and his handsome face darkened. With his serious and cold face, the atmosphere in the room immediately became awkward.
Patrick's father Paul nudged his wife and told his wife to remind their daughter not to go too far. These new toys were bought for Andy to play with. It was shameful for their daughter to do so.
Priscila's husband Mr. Ray also felt embarrassed. He quickly got up, took back the new toy from his son, and put it back on the coffee table. He hugged his son, and coaxed him, "Baby, daddy will take you to buy new toys."
Priscila didn't know what was going on.
Hubert suddenly said, "Let him play with it. I bought a lot of new toys for Andy."
He noticed that the hands of Priscila's son were dirty. He thought that the boy had touched Andy's new toy, and it was dirty, so he generously gave the new set of toys to him to play with.
He motioned for Teresa to give the new set of toys to Priscila's son.
Teresa also didn't want to make the atmosphere awkward for a set of toys because it would make it difficult for her sister difficult. She hurriedly picked up the set of toys and handed them to the boy. When the boy took the toy, Teresa noticed his dirty hands and she immediately understood the reason for Hubert's sudden generosity.
