Chapter 32 Hubert's Complaints
"Don't let my wife know about today's affair." Hubert reminded the people around him.
The bodyguards all nodded in response. Mr. Donovan was a married man, but Miss Lisbon had publicly paid court to him. Of course, he could not let his wife know about it.
Many employees at the Donovan Group had witnessed Sophie's confession of love, so when Hubert walked into the office building, they couldn't help but give him a second look.
However, he was as cold as usual and pursed his thin lips tightly. When he strode in with his bodyguards behind him, he looked as imposing as a king. He was indeed extremely attractive to young women.
Many young female employees in the company who had accidentally seen him had fallen in love with him. Of course, no one dared to confess her love to him or chase after him.
The Donovan family was out of reach for ordinary people. Even if they knew the men of the Donovan family were faithful in love, they did not think they would fall for themselves.
Back in his office, Hubert took out his phone and dialed Warren's number. It took a while before Warren answered the call and said, "Are the pigs flying today? Mr. Donovan, I did not expect you to call me. What's up?"
Warren joking with Hubert with a smirk on the phone.
"Warren, your sister is going too far!"
Hearing this, Warren became serious and asked, "What happened to Sophie?"
He knew Sophie had fallen in love with Hubert at first sight and had loved him for several years. She had told Warren recently that she wanted to confess her love to Hubert.
Thinking of this, Warren frowned. Had his daring sister gone to express her love to Hubert? Why did she like Hubert's cold face so much?
"She's pestering me and is still outside my company. If you don't come to take her away right now, I will ask my people to kick her away!"
"I'll immediately ask my wife to take her home. Mr. Donovan, you don't need to waste time on such a thing. I know you must be busy."
Hubert snorted and hung up the phone.
Hearing the busy tone, Warren was angry. But he was angry with Sophie instead of Hubert. He immediately called his wife and asked, "Honey, where are you now?"
"I'm shopping with Sarah. What's the matter? You sound angry."
"Please go to the Donovan Group now and take Sophie away from there. That wicked girl went to meet Hubert and pestered him. Hubert is hot-tempered, I'm afraid he will not tolerate her for long."
Warren was angry with Sophie because she didn't listen to his dissuasion and still loved Hubert deeply. He was worried Hubert would be rude to her. Hubert was cold and had a bad temper. If he got angry, he would kick her away and humiliate her no matter who she was.
Hubert was the "crown prince" of the business world in Waternll City. His words and deeds were often amplified by the media. If one offended him, the media would report the matter, the person would be discredited.
Warren was afraid his only sister's reputation would be ruined. If so, she would not be able to live in Waternll City anymore.
Hearing this, Melissa said, "I'll go there right now. Don't be angry. Sophie just wants to have a try. If she fails, she will drop the idea forever. If she doesn't do anything before giving up, she will regret it."
"Hubert is not a man she could control. Please persuade her into giving up. Apart from his family, he has never had any dealings with young women. He is a heartless man. But Sophie does not believe me no matter how I persuade her."
Warren did not know what he could do about his sister.
"I'm too busy now. Honey, please take care of Sophie."
"You can rest assured. I'm going to pick up her right now. And I will ask her to go shopping with us. Sarah has been in a bad mood recently."
Melissa had a good relationship with her mother-in-law. Seeing Sarah in a bad mood, she coaxed her into going out shopping to cheer her up.
Warren suddenly fell silent.
His mother was depressed because there had been no news of his aunt Emma so far. His mother missed her very much.
Sarah had grown up in an orphanage. Her parents had died when she had been young, and her four-year-old sister had been her only family member back then. Then, they had been sent to the orphanage. Later, a rich couple had come to the orphanage, intending to adopt a kid. And they had liked Emma very much. Sarah had been only eight years old at the time, and Emma had been four. Sarah had not wanted to be parted from her sister, but she had known that it was better for her to be adopted than to grow up in the orphanage. So, she had agreed to let them adopt Emma.
Then, the sisters had been separated for decades after taking a photo together.

Then, she had fallen in love with her boss's eldest son, married into a wealthy family, and become Mrs. Lisbon.
Since she had begun to work, she had been looking for her sister, but there had been no news for decades.
Not long ago, Warren had finally gotten some news about his aunt because he had found the rich couple. His mother had been incredibly happy and let him and his father accompany her to that couple's home. But they had learned that the couple had had their biological child one year after they had adopted Emma. Since then, they had begun to treat her badly. They had been afraid that Emma would covet their property, so they had asked a maid to give her to another family. After a few decades, the maid had long passed away, and her family was completely unaware of this matter. So, no one knew who she had given Emma to.
Sarah had been depressed because of this matter.
Now, if Warren still wanted to find Emma, he could only rely on that old photo of the two sisters. He had posted it online, hoping Emma or her children could see it one day.
"Honey, tell Mom that as long as Emma is alive, we will find her. Even if she has left us, we will find her children. Tell her she must take it easy. If I find Emma, she will have to go to identify her."
Warren was an extremely filial man, so he hoped his mother could pull herself together.
Melissa nodded, "I will. You can focus on your work now. I will go to pick up Sophie right now. If Sophie doesn't listen to us, what about we let her have a try? Hubert is cold, but he is a reliable man."
The men of the Donovan family were all reliable.
Melissa was supportive of Sophie in her heart. Since Sophie dared to confess her love to Hubert, Melissa thought they were suitable.
The two families were well-matched. Although their relationship was not good due to business competition, they could greet each other politely when they met.
If Sophie could win Hubert's heart and marry into the Donovan family, it would ease the conflicts between the two families.
