Chapter 26

Chapter 26
The lunch came to an end in a rush.
After dinner, Olive George packed up the dishes, Sherry George helped turned on the TV and served tea and fruit, Josh Hunter went to the balcony to answer the phone, and Diana Swift had to sit on the sofa and watch a local news program that Sherry George called up.
The protagonists of the show were a young couple who were about to get married in the surrounding towns of X City. The man accidentally found out that the woman had a history of abortion before getting married, which he could not accept, so he broke off the marriage angrily.
The woman tried to retain him first, but it's okay to break up when she could't retain him. However, she wouldn't refund the 50,000 yuan betrothal gift money, because the man had slept with her and should pay the breakup fee.
The two sides quarreled over the 50,000 yuan betrothal gift money on the show.
Diana Swift had never watched this kind of show. At first, she didn't believe that someone could accept an interview and fight on TV just for 50,000 yuan.
But when she saw the announcement on the scroll bar below the program that read, "A middle-aged man at the mahjong table had a cerebral hemorrhage due to a dispute with his poker player over ten yuan gambling money, and he had been rushed to X City People's Hospital", she thought that fighting for 50,000 yuan was really justifiable and convincing.
She watched TV while eating fruit, and she was even attracted.
Seeing that Sherry George was standing aside after finishing her housework, not knowing what to do, she asked Sherry George to sit down and watch.
Sherry George blushed and nodded, and sat down along the edge of the sofa, with her legs together and her hands on her knees, as if this was Diana Swift's home, and she was just a distant relative who came to be a guest.
Diana Swift also had the temperament of a noble lady when eating fruit and watching TV. Although the house was ordinary or even very old, she still sat elegantly as if she was on the front row of the Milan show.
Sherry George pretended to sneak a glance at her from time to time.
No way, she had never seen such a good-looking woman, which was prettier than the female stars on TV, like a pearl that could sparkle in the daytime.
Diana Swift didn't notice Sherry George's eyes at first, but when she was holding a tissue, she happened to meet this curious gaze. She was a little startled, and then looked at her with a smile, trying to express her kindness and friendliness.
But Sherry George was very shy. When she was caught, she immediately avoided her eyes and stopped looking at her. Her face turned red into a tomato in an instant.
Diana Swift: "..."
What a pure girl. She was too shy.
No wonder she and Josh Hunter were not real brother and sister, this little girl didn't even share one percent of Josh Hunter's shameless gene.
The next second she naturally thought of Toby Hunter.
When Toby Hunter was there, she was too young, and her memory became blurred as she got older. She couldn't even remember Toby Hunter's specific face. She only remembered that Toby Hunter was a bright and cheerful big brother, and his personality was completely different from that of Sherry George.
When Diana Swift was distracted for a while, Josh Hunter had finished the call and went back to the living room.
He walked straight to the sofa but didn't sit down.
Diana Swift raised her head to meet his gaze, and read from his eyes the meaning of "leave after eating".
No, he came here on purpose to eat, so he really only for a meal?
It doesn't matter if he and Sherry George hadn't cultivated a brother-sister relationship and could't communicate, but Olive George... Since they came in until now, the mother and son hadn't said three conversations.
Diana Swift was stunned, not knowing what to do for a while.
Fortunately, Olive George just came out of the kitchen at this time. She seemed to see that Josh Hunter was going to leave, so she couldn't help but shout, "Josh."
The air was suddenly quiet.
For a long time, no one spoke.
Diana Swift felt that this kind of silence was really uncomfortable. She held it back for a long time, and finally stammered out a sentence: "Well...my lipstick was gone. Sherry, would you accompany me to buy a lipstick?"
When suddenly called by name, Sherry George was unable to react at once.
Diana Swift quickly sat up and put on her bag, pulled Sherry George up again, and dragged her out of the room.
The anti-theft iron door closed with a creak, and in an instant, only Olive George and Josh Hunter were left in the house.
The sun in the afternoon was quiet, and the last fragrance of flowers and plants in late summer was blown in by the breeze, with a slight rust smell, so familiar that it gives people the illusion of time travel.
Josh Hunter remembered that it was also such a sunny and pleasant afternoon. He ended his nap early because he wanted to buy a comic book.
Before going to school with his schoolbag, he wanted to go to the master bedroom to see his little sister, but outside the master bedroom door, he heard his parents talking.
Driven by curiosity, he clung to the door to eavesdrop.
Jacob George said, "The Hunter family had money to support their children, so will our family treat the children badly? They want to raise the two children. What's the point!"
Olive George sighed, "It's not unreasonable that they with good conditions can naturally give the children a better growth environment." After being silent, she suddenly said, "I don't know what that child looks like now."
Hearing this, Jacob George fell silent.
The couple also said a few words in low voices, which Josh Hunter couldn't hear clearly. In the end, he only heard Olive George say with a little weeping: "How could this happen?"
At that time, Josh Hunter was still young, and he could not fully understand the words of Olive George and Jacob George, but he had a hunch that something related to him was happening quietly without him.
That was, from then on, he began to consciously overhear Olive George and Jacob George's speech, and the truth was slowly restored by him through a few words.
Later, the Hunter family's car and bodyguards parked downstairs in the teacher's apartment. When Olive George and Jacob George told him the truth in the last moment, he was unexpectedly calm.

During the eavesdropping, he had heard many discussions that they were unwilling to send him back to the Hunter family. But in the end, his parents abandoned him.
It may have been too long ago, but when he recalled it now, it felt like a lifetime.
Sitting on the sofa, Josh Hunter looked at Olive George, who was no longer young, and suddenly asked, "Have you not gone abroad all these years?"
Having studied abroad for many years, it was easy for him to tell if someone had just returned from abroad.
Olive George looked at the fruit plate on the table and said softly: "No, we have been living in N City. Toby...he went abroad, he...was not very close to us." Speaking of which, she lowered her head again, "He went abroad many years ago, and never came back."
Josh Hunter was silent.
Olive George asked nervously: "You, how are you doing? You and Diana were married three years ago, right?"
Josh Hunter said "um".
Olive George nodded, "Diana is a very good girl. She is beautiful and cute. I won't worry if you are good."
After saying this, she hurriedly wiped the corner of her eyes and smiled.
Josh Hunter didn't answer.
After a while, he suddenly asked, "Where's Dad?"
At this moment, it was replaced by Olive George's silence.
After a long time, she slowly said, "He had... passed away."
-
"Dead?" Diana Swift was a little startled.
After coming out of the George family, Diana Swift took Sherry George into the car, and planed to go to the nearby shopping mall to buy something.
The nearest shopping mall was also a fifteen-minute drive away. Diana Swift felt that she couldn't sit for a quarter of an hour without conversations, which would be embarrassing, so she chatted with Sherry George in the car.
It's more like QA rather than a chat.
Sherry George was a simple and honest girl. Basically, she answered whatever Diana Swift asked, so Diana Swift couldn't resisted the temptation, and asked her about the George family by the way.
"Just a while ago, my father fell ill, and my mother wanted Brother Josh Hunter to come back and see him, but before my mother could find him, my father did not endure the treatment and passed away." Sherry George lowered her head, "Due to Dad's death, we returned to X City, because Dad said before he passed away that he wanted to go home."
Jacob George passed away.
Although Diana Swift was surprised, she was not particularly shocked, because she had already had many guesses in her heart since she didn't see Jacob George in the George family.
"Then... Toby Hunter, oh, should he be Toby George now?"
Sherry George shook her head, "Brother didn't change his name, and I haven't seen him much. He went to live abroad many years ago, and usually only came back once every several years. This time our father died, he said he would come back, but he hadn't come back yet. I haven't seen him for a long, long time."
"Alright..."
Diana Swift nodded slightly, feeling that she couldn't speak, and she didn't know what to say.
Fortunately, the shopping mall had arrived. She was not good at other things, but shopping was her firm specialty.
She packed up her mood, walked in holding Sherry George's hand, and began to talk the nonsense of women living a delicate life.
"You've also gone to college, so you could't always be so simple. Look at your little face, how pretty it is. Dress up and date while you're young." She turned her head and looked at her, "You don't have a boyfriend yet, did you? "
Sherry George shook her head shyly.
"University was the best time to fall in love. When you leave school, how could you meet any pure love? When people stand face to face and look at each other, they will consider each other's material conditions."
Diana Swift had never been in a relationship in college, but she was good at the theory.
Sherry George asked curiously, "So were you and brother Josh Hunter college classmates?"
Diana Swift: "..."
Sorry, we were the kind of plastic couple who have to consider material conditions while standing in front of each other.
Soon, she changed the topic nonchalantly, "Actually, it's not just about falling in love. Even if a girl doesn't fall in love, she has to be nice to herself. Don't you think it's good to dress nicely every day?"
Sherry George agreed with this point. In the university dormitory, apart from studying and falling in love, the most discussion among girls was all kinds of clothes, bags, skin care products and cosmetics.
She knew a little bit in that environment, but she was too embarrassed to take the first step, and she only devoted herself to studying every day.
Diana Swift could't see how simple a beautiful girl was. She wanted to take Sherry George to buy a set of skin care products first, but she suddenly received a call from the "The Designer" program team. The reception in the mall was bad and the sound was intermittent. She casually pointed to a nearby counter and asked Sherry George to wait there. She came in as soon as she finished her call.
Sherry George agreed.
On the first floor of the mall was counters for jewelry, skin care and beauty.
She was wandering around the brand designated by Diana Swift, and inadvertently saw a make-up brand that her roommate was talking about every day recently. She heard that this brand had a very popular lipstick.
She walked over, her eyes lingered on the lipstick display cabinet, and silently recalled the lipstick number that her roommate said.
Finally, she found a trial size of the lipstick in the penultimate row of the display cabinet, picked it up and tried the color on her hand, it was really pretty.
She was a junior this year and had not bought a lipstick yet, so she was eager to try it.
"Hello, how much was this lipstick?" She raised the lipstick and asked the lady at the counter.
The counter lady glanced up and down at her, and seeing she was a student, she didn't want to say hello. She rolled her eyes, continued to play with her phone, and said casually with a stinky face, "I'm sorry, this is the hot. It is not sold separately, and it needs to be sold with two-to-one distribution."
Distribution?
Sherry George didn't understand what it meant at all, and thought that she was too old-fashioned. Her face was instantly red, and she was at a loss.
But in the next second, she suddenly smelled a faint and familiar fruity fragrance.
She didn't know when Diana Swift appeared by her side. She pulled the trial pack from her hand and threw it directly. Her voice was cold and sarcastic, "Sell with what? Your stinky face?"
What the hell Distribution?
