Chapter 21

Chapter 21
A transformation?
After hanging up the phone, Diana Swift was still stunned.
Did he mean that she was suitable for a complete transformation from her body to mind in a corner where the Internet had not yet been connected to plant vegetables, kill pigs, and herd cows?
Was he a human being? That was not something a girl wanted to hear.
"I just spent a little bit of his rotten money. Gosh! How could he be so cruel!"
"Why doesn't he transform himself!"
Diana Swift was so angry that she ate three macarons. Her tone was full of a kind of incredibility as "How could this man be so cruel!"
Bonnie Smith corrected her subconsciously, "You've spent a lot of his money."
Diana Swift put a macaron into her mouth quickly. Obviously, we could see something in her eyes: "Just eat your macaron and shut up."
Betty Miller didn't know the real relationship between Diana Swift and Josh Hunter. She thought it was a little fun of flirting between loving couples, so her focus was all on "Diana Swift ate the dessert first".
She swallowed calmly and said in a perfunctory tone: "Calm down, just calm down. Your husband must be joking. How can he be willing to let you participate in a transformation plan?"
When she spoke, the silver fork in her hand also touched the tiramisu quietly.
But before she could touch the tiramisu, Diana Swift slapped her hand away with a snap, giving her an eye warning for the first time.
Betty Miller desisted, feeling resentful.
It was probably because she was suppressed too hard by Diana Swift recently. The next second she suddenly sat up straight and dissed back -
"You make it sound like The Transformation is willing to invite you. It's unlucky for those local farmers to receive such a scourge as you. You are pretty useless there, and how could they expect you to work on the farm? Oh, my gosh. I'm afraid that when the neighbor's children come to touch your bag, you have to shout: Ah! Get your dirty hands off! This bag is 100,000 or 100,0000 dollars!!"
Diana Swift: "...?"
A piece of tiramisu ruined their friendship.
She must do something wrong before marrying such a man and meeting such a friend.
Back home, Diana Swift still felt down in Josh Hunter's vicious diss.
When she went to the bathroom, she found that she was on her period. She fell into the sofa with a touch of sadness for a while, thinking carefully about Bonnie Smith's earnest teachings.
In fact, after a false alarm about the last cheating incident, she also thought seriously: If there was a day when they would divorce, how would she live the rest of her life?
Before marriage, the Swift family treated her well. However, her parents passed away at a young age and left her no actual equity and property that could be converted into cash.
After marriage, although Josh Hunter didn't limit how much she spent, they had also signed a prenuptial agreement. If they got divorced, she would not get a penny, and she could only go out of the house with no money.
If this man was crueler, it was possible that she would not be able to take away the things she had bought in the past few years.
Diana Swift knew better than Josh Hunter about the relationship between their families. If they really divorced one day, the Swift family would disagree first.
In fact, it seemed that most of the things she owned could vanish into thin air in a second after the divorce.
Thinking of this, Diana Swift had a sense of insecurity.
She had been living in the lap of luxury since she was a little girl, so she had a weak awareness of being self-sufficient.
In addition, she had never suffered any hardships. She had lived the carefree life that most people want, an easy life with everything provided. It was quite embarrassing to require her to strive hard for her dream because she had been satisfied with her life.
This sense of crisis was not enough to awaken her sense of independence that she didn't even know where she hid.
But--
The spirit of rebellion in her blood was much stronger than her independence.
Being upset for a while on the sofa, she thought about the light sarcasm on Josh Hunter's face when he asked her to participate in The Transformation. Without hesitation, she picked up her mobile phone to reply to Page Mill, and then went upstairs to pack her luggage.
This was not the first time that Diana Swift had fought against Josh Hunter, so he was not surprised when he got the news that Diana Swift confirmed her participation in the show on the way to his business trip.
Sam Rodriguez asked, "Mr. Hunter, do we need to ask the organization to replace the program team?"
"No," Josh Hunter rubbed his forehead, "Just adjust the team list and cancel the key shooting. If she doesn't say anything, you don't need to ask the program team for anything special."
Sam Rodriguez paused for a while and replied "Okay".
The Lux Hotel Group was the largest investor in this interior design program.
In order to warm up its upcoming designer brand hotel "The Elegant Pick of Lux", the group invested a lot of money in the production team of X City TV and intervened in all aspects from the title of the program to the program process.
Moreover, there were two cutting-edge designers in this program, who were originally considered outstanding by the Lux Hotel Group. They were invited to design the "The Elegant Pick of Lux", which would occupy the main part of the show.
It was just that Diana Swift knew nothing about it.
Half an hour later, a Bentley stopped at the entrance of the clubhouse. Sam Rodriguez got out of the car first and opened the door for Josh Hunter.
It was hard for him to say no to the social engagement tonight. It was organized by Victor Kent, the old friend of Richard Hunter. During the previous call, Victor Kent vaguely expressed that he wanted to lead him to invest in a film and television project.

As soon as he got out of the car, a waitress in a cheongsam with her hair in a bun led Josh Hunter inside.
The waitress led him all the way to the private room on the third floor, and she opened the door for him. At this moment, Sam Rodriguez just received the latest news that Diana Swift was leaving for the X City.
He followed behind Josh Hunter and reported to him in a low voice.
Josh Hunter walked forward while listening, only to find out that one of his old friends was still sitting in the room.
Mandy Lee wore a sleeveless gray turtleneck sweater dress and simple ear studs today. Her hair was tied in a low ponytail. She was wearing only light make-up and her lipstick color was also light water pink.
She seemed like a highly educated woman from a distance.
Mandy Lee didn't seem to be surprised by Josh Hunter's arrival, and there was no special change in her expression. She only took the initiative to shake the wine glass and toast him when Victor Kent introduced him.
Victor Kent introduced her from the side: "Mandy Lee just came back from France. She's an excellent young director. There is a good theme in the film project she prepared recently, which is warm, positive, and bright. There are some qualitative differences with other themes which show the dark side of youth."
"Hey, Josh. Doesn't your group also have film and television investment projects? If you are interested, you can support a talented and thoughtful young director like Mandy Lee." After he finished speaking, he turned to look at Mandy, "Come here, Mandy. Just give Mr. Hunter a toast!"
Mandy Lee took the initiative to make a toast, and Josh Hunter also raised his glass to toast her. But he didn't drink it. After toasting her, he put down the wine glass and chatted with victor Kent about other topics.
Mandy Lee was also quiet, sitting aside. If Victor Kent didn't take the initiative to start a conversation, she just kept silent.
Josh Hunter and Mandy Lee didn't have a deeper communication until the end of this social engagement.
In fact, at a certain period of his life, Josh Hunter did have a crush on a girl like Mandy Lee who was completely different from Diana Swift.
But he didn't pay much attention to their relationship at that time. He had been dating Mandy Lee for three months after graduating from high school. To this day, he couldn't recall any details.
When the engagement was over, it was late at night. Josh Hunter asked Sam Rodriguez to confirm the location of Diana Swift's hotel while walking out of the clubhouse.
There was still some work on P City that need to be processed by Sam Rodriguez. Only the bodyguard would accompany him on the way to X City tonight.
"Josh."
A familiar female voice suddenly came from behind.
Josh Hunter paused for a moment and looked back.
During the banquet, Mandy Lee was sitting and we could only see her upper body. Standing up now, she looked more graceful with good features.
She walked closer, smiled lightly, and stretched out her hand, "Long time no see."
Josh Hunter said in a low voice, "Long time no see."
Seeing that Josh Hunter didn't want to shake hands, Mandy Lee just tilted her head and took her hand back freely.
She said frankly: "Actually, I knew yesterday that you will come to participate in this engagement today. However, in order to get some investment, I can't shy away from my ex. I hope you don't mind."
Her voice was gentle and playful as ever, and she knew her limitations.
Mandy Lee knew that Josh Hunter was cold. However, they used to be a couple, and they just broke up without any drama. At least, she could get an "I don't mind" out of Josh Hunter.
But as soon as she finished speaking, she heard Josh Hunter answer the other three words without thinking, "I do mind."
Saying these three words, Josh Hunter himself was stunned subconsciously, and so was Mandy Lee.
He was a bit familiar with this scene. He remembered that he also said the same words to another girl outside another club not long ago.
He also said something else, which seemed to be a nice compliment for Diana Swift, but he forgot it.
In Mandy Lee's eyes, Josh Hunter's brief trance completely meant something else.
When she was young, she met this man, who was so special in her heart. It was difficult for her to give up completely on the person she liked for so many years. Even if he got married, that obsession never faded away from her heart.
Then, he minded it because he...had the same mood as her?
Mandy Lee wanted to say something, but Sam Rodriguez, who also misunderstood his words, coughed softly for some reason.
"It has been difficult to develop the film and television projects in the past two years, which is one of the riskiest ventures. The company needs to conduct accurate risk control assessments. In the end, I don't make the decision solo whether to invest or not."
"Sorry, I have other schedules, so I will not accompany you. Sorry."
He turned around and went straight into the car.
Mandy Lee looked at him from behind. Her eyes seemed to be covered with a layer of mist in the middle of the night, and she couldn't see clearly.
-
The receptionist had prepared a room card for him early. It was a top-floor suite. The warm yellow light was on in the room, but Diana Swift was nowhere to be seen.
After a long while, he heard a faint whisper from the other side of the bed.
Walking over, he saw Diana Swift, who curled up like a small shrimp, lying on the carpet beside the bed.
When Diana Swift arrived at the X City at ten o'clock, she went to bed after taking a shower. But she suffered female pains at this moment. She called the room service, but a big cup of black sugar ginger tea didn't help.
She was already out of pain now, but she didn't have the strength to get up.
In an almost dreamlike state, she saw a vague and familiar figure. She thought she was dreaming of the gentle version of Josh Hunter, and she felt particularly wronged for some reason. Stretching her hands up, she said coquettishly, "Hug me."
