Chapter 43

Chapter 43
Standing two steps away from Josh, Nathan was slightly surprised that Josh suddenly punched the man.
Josh had been calm since he was a child. Unlike his peers, he was even a bit lofty. He disdained to argue or fight with unimportant people.
If someone really offended him, he would take revenge more directly and fight back accurately.
The last time Nathan saw Josh beat someone... Nathan thought about it carefully and felt more surprised because it was the first time he had seen Josh beat someone.
The heavy metal music in the club was still deafening and dynamic. The colorful lights were as lustrous and dazzling as ever. In the dark, people's desires remained tense and turbulent.
The air near the booth was full of the smell of nicotine and alcohol, but the smell of blood was obvious.
Josh grabbed the man's collar and lifted him from the seat. Then he pinched the man's neck. His fingers were cold, and blue veins stood out on the backs of his hands.
Blood flowed out from the man's forehead, running down his brows, eyes, and lips. He could hardly breathe, and he was so scared that his lips turned pale. Covered by the red blood, his lips seemed paler.
Josh didn't mean to let him go. His eyes were as cold as ice, gloomy and apathetic. His heart didn't soften though the man's face was covered by blood.
Those girls who talked about Diana with the man were so scared that their arms and legs went limp. They screamed and then asked for help in panic.
But soon, Josh's bodyguards rushed in. Dressed in black suits, they all looked strong and burly. They looked as indifferent as Josh.
They stood outside the booth to protect Josh, and they didn't pay attention to what was happening in the booth. Anyway, no one was allowed to help the man.
In fact, Josh seldom showed up in the past two years. Most of the dandies who played in the nightclubs didn't know he was the president of Lux Hotel Group. But since Nathan was here this day, everyone guessed who Josh was.
Originally, some people wanted to meddle in this matter, but they all stepped back sensibly. After all, no one wanted to offend the future leader of the Hunter family for someone unimportant.
Others could ignore it, but Gene, the owner of the club, had to deal with this matter.
When Gene heard that Josh and Nathan came here and Josh beat someone cruelly as soon as he arrived, Gene's blood froze, and he felt so bitter in his heart.
How terrible it was!
He held a birthday party on the opening day of the club, and Josh's wife made a scene here! He only dared to treat Diana politely at that time. On this day, Josh, who seldom showed up in public places, came here and even beat someone. So many good-for-nothing young men from wealthy families opened clubs in P City, but why was he the only unlucky one?
"Josh! Josh!" Seeing that Josh was about to strangle the man to death, Gene kept calling Josh's name. He was so scared that he felt he was about to die together with the man. "Why are you here? Oh, I heard the news just now. It's all my fault!"
Nathan raised his hand slightly to stop Gene. His voice was lazy as he said, "Don't worry. Josh knows what he's doing."
How could Gene not worry?
If something bad happened in his club, his father would punish him and ground him, wouldn't he?
Gene couldn't go into the booth, so his heart was torn with anxiety. Shivering, he could only light a cigarette for Nathan, hoping he could get some details from Nathan.
But Nathan didn't like to have dealings with someone like Gene. He glanced at Gene casually and said mockingly, "Why do you open a club since you're so timid?"
Gene wanted to say something when he saw Josh let go of the man and throw the man to the ground from the corner of his eye. Gene immediately breathed a sigh of relief. Cold sweat had soaked the back of his T-shirt.
Josh stood there motionless. No one knew that Nathan was wrong. When Josh pinched the man by the neck, he was so mad that he didn't think about the consequence for a moment.
Hearing the noise, Rein came out of the private box. He put his hands on the railing and looked down.
It happened that the lamp ball rotated, and the light shone on Josh's angular side face. The blood stains on Josh's white collar were horrifying.
"D*mn! What did Josh do?" Rein was dumbfounded.
Mandy walked slowly forward, gently put her arms on the railing, and looked at Josh who was slowly wiping his hands downstairs.
Rein thought of something and wanted to warn Mandy. However, after looking at Josh for a while, Mandy suddenly turned to leave without saying anything. Rein chased after her and shouted her name twice, but she stepped into the elevator first.
The man was injured. Gene ordered someone to clear the hall and asked someone to drag the man aside. He had called an ambulance for the man.
The music stopped, but the lights were still colorful and dazzling.
Mandy went downstairs. She stood outside the bodyguards and suddenly said, "Josh!"
Josh didn't reply to her or look back.
She asked, "Can I talk to you alone?"
Nathan didn't want to get involved, and he was ready to leave, but Josh glanced at him and motioned for him to stay. Then Josh sat next to the pool of blood that hadn't been cleaned up and said coldly, "If you want to say something, say it here."
The bodyguard leaned slightly and let Mandy enter the booth.
Mandy didn't sit down. She stood in front of Josh and said in a gentle and bland voice, "I heard that Diana wants to divorce you because of the movie. Is it true? When you called me that night, I didn't know this matter would become so serious. I'm sorry."
She lowered her head slightly.
Josh didn't speak or look at her.
Nathan was texting his girlfriend. He was not interested in Mandy's little tricks at all.
Mandy kept her head lowered and said again, "I thought I could avoid arousing suspicion, but I didn't expect to get you involved. It's reasonable for you to withdraw the fund. I'm really sorry."

"But I think I am qualified to make the movie." She suddenly raised her head and stared at Josh with clear and frank eyes. "The movie has nothing to do with you. In essence, whether I want to make the movie or not, it's my own business. I have the right to decide the content of the movie. Although we can't be lovers or friends, at least I hope we won't be enemies."
"According to your character, I know you don't care whether I'll make the movie or not. Diana and I hold grudge against each other, but this has nothing to do with you. We will solve the problem by ourselves. Josh, you shouldn't meddle in our business..."
"Diana is my wife."
Before Mandy finished speaking, Josh cut in without hesitation.
He untied his blood-stained collar to breathe freely, raised his head without any emotion, and looked at Mandy.
"Miss Lee, I thought I had made it very clear on the phone last time. No one stops you from making a movie or doing what you want. But what I want to do has nothing to do with you."
"What's more, we're strangers, but Diana is my wife. Do you understand?"
When Nathan heard Josh's words, he didn't look up. He sent a message to Jean who was sounding him out because of the rumors in his company. "She and I are strangers, but you're my love. Do you understand?"
Jean was silent for a moment and then sent a cute sticker to show that she got it.
Nathan breathed a sigh of relief, knowing that Jean was satisfied.
But Mandy couldn't stay calm. Her brain was in buzz. She had expected everything, including that Diana would get mad and divorce Josh, but how could Josh...
She didn't know exactly where she had slipped up, and she didn't want to believe that Josh loved Diana.
But before she could compose her thoughts, Josh had got up and walked out, unwilling to talk nonsense with her.
Rein happened to come downstairs. Seeing Josh walk out of the booth, he wanted to talk to Josh.
However, Josh suddenly looked at him and said coldly, "This is the last time."
Rein was puzzled. What was going on? He asked Nathan who came out after Josh, "What was he talking about? The last time? What does it mean?"
Nathan said, "He means that if such a thing happens again, he won't be friends with you anymore."
Rein was a little stunned. He suddenly reacted and said, "Oh no! Does he think it was me who invited Mandy here? D*mn! He has misunderstood me!"
He rubbed his head irritably and said, "I asked you two to come here because I wanted to apologize to Josh. I spilled the beans and made trouble last time, didn't I? Just now, I was singing with a beautiful lady in the box when Mandy and the weak daughter of the Taylor family came to say hello to me. It was impolite to drive them away."
"I was dumbfounded! Before I could say anything, something bad happened downstairs. Then Mandy ran down... Oh! What did she do? Sh*t! She has made big trouble for me!"
Nathan said without looking up, "What's the use of talking to me?"
Rein should explain it to Josh, but Josh obviously had no time to talk to Rein at this time.
Josh left the club without changing his dirty shirt. Sitting in the back seat, he ordered the driver, "Go to Star Park."
He leaned against the back seat and rested his hand on his forehead. He didn't know whether it was because of the alcohol or the fight, but he had an indefinable desire in his heart.
The black car sped all the way to Star Park in the night wind.
The car stopped opposite Star Park, and Josh got off. He asked the driver for a cigarette, put one hand in his pocket, and leaned against the car door, looking at a dark window upstairs. The irritation in his heart seemed to be calmed by the cold wind in the autumn night.
......
This night was dreamless.
The next morning, Diana and Bonnie got up together.
Bonnie didn't know whether Diana had really made up her mind to support herself or her enthusiasm hadn't faded away. Early in the morning, Diana talked to Bonnie about what to do to support herself while drinking the porridge.
Bonnie turned on her iPad and read the latest fashion news. She said casually, "It's easy, isn't it? The key is that you have to spend less. Well, you spend extravagantly. No one can support you except for your family and the Hunter family."
"I can't control myself, can I?" Diana drank half a bowl of porridge and wiped her lips gracefully. Then she twiddled her fingers elegantly and said, "I'm serious. What do you think I should do? I don't have much money left now."
Bonnie thought for a moment and said, "What about being a purchasing agent? Isn't it easy for you to go to luxury stores to buy exclusive bags? You can earn a lot of money by selling the bags. It's so easy."
"Well, are you out of your head? I know most of the people who often buy expensive bags. Do you want me to be laughed at? Bonnie, you're so mean!"
Bonnie raised her hand and motioned for Diana to stop. "Then what do you think you can do without contacting the people you used to know? Be an Internet celebrity? Make a debut and become a superstar?"
Diana kept shaking her head.
She was easily upset, and she couldn't stand the negative comments of netizens at all. Besides, although people around her didn't look down on superstars and Internet celebrities as much as they did before, she believed she was a real lady, and she didn't want to earn money by showing her face in public.
Bonnie said again, "If you want to be an interior designer, you can't cut all ties with those you used to know, either. You do creative design. Who will need creative design in their houses? If you cut all ties with those you used to know, where can you find nice clients?"
"Think about it. You have no representative work. Why should a stranger trust you and let you design for his big villa? So no matter what you do, you should convince yourself that you can't cut all ties with those you used to know. Understand?"
Diana rested her chin on her hand. Before she could figure it out, her phone suddenly rang.
Betty told her the latest big news in the circle early in the morning.
"Oh my God! Your husband beat someone in Gene's club last night!"
"A lot of people were here, including Nathan, Rein, Gene, and your rival in love, Mandy!"
Diana was stunned.
Did Josh beat someone? Was Mandy there?
So, he fought for Mandy...
Before she could think much, Betty sent her another message.
"Josh beat Greg Sheffield, the fat man. I guess you don't know Greg. It's said that Josh heard it when Greg spoke ill of you, and then Josh hit him with a wine bottle! This matter has caused an uproar. I heard that Greg is still in the hospital for a check-up!"
