Chapter 55

Chapter 55
For so many years, Diana Swift's aversion to Mandy Lee had long been deep in her bones, and a glass of red wine was obviously not enough to make it dissipate.
Actually, the moment she passed Josh Hunter, what she was thinking was to pour red wine straight at Mandy Lee's face, or pour it down from Mandy Lee's head.
But her upbringing didn't allow her to do that, and she didn't want to cause trouble for Bonnie Smith, who was in charge of this activity. She also didn't want Josh Hunter to see her ugly appearance as a bad woman.
The red wine seemed to ring when it fell to the ground.
For a few seconds, the scene fell into a silent silence.
But Mandy Lee was not a baby in the woods who would only pretend to be poor when she was bullied. Diana Swift poured the wine in front of her like offering sacrifices to the dead at Tomb Sweeping Day, and told her to stay away from her own husband. If she didn't respond, she would be labeled as shameless as seducing other's husband before she walked out the door today.
Her expression changed, but she soon calmed down and came up with a strong counterattack strategy.
- To pour wine directly at Diana Swift.
She did not have the psychological burden of upbringing because she thought that Diana Swift provoked her in the first place, so she could fight back. And Diana Swift was known to be unruly and capricious, so she was justified anyway.
Just as in the student days, no matter what the truth was, Diana Swift was not likely to get a half benefit from her.
When she thought of this, her eyes even flashed a moment of imperceptible contempt.
But at the moment when she was ready to pour wine, Josh Hunter suddenly turned around and looked straight at her coldly.
Mandy Lee was stunned, but the wine glass in her hand could not be retrieved.
Josh Hunter didn't think much. He took Diana Swift's wrist with one hand and gently took her behind him. With the other hand, he twisted her carpal firmly and accurately, folded it in, and forcefully let the glass change its tilt direction at the last moment.
The purplish red liquid flowed back up Mandy Lee's arm, and the apricot A-line skirt was quickly stained with wine, which also ran down her arm and clothes, dripping on the ground.
Mandy Lee sipped her lips and looked pale.
Josh Hunter really didn't have any passion and he twisted her carpal bone relentlessly, which made her painful.
Also, she really couldn't believe that Josh Hunter would be so unrequited that he was violent with her.
Josh Hunter looked into her eyes and said coldly without the basic manners. He simply ran out of his patience and gave her an ultimatum: "Mandy Lee, enough is enough."
At that moment, Mandy Lee suddenly felt that the man in front of him was very strange, and he was completely different from the gentle boy ten years ago.
She shook her head gently and muttered to herself, as if it was hard to accept the reality. "Josh, how did you become like this?"
In fact, people who really understood Josh Hunter would know that he had always been like this. Being clear and gentle was just his far-reaching appearance when he was not aggressive.
Mandy Lee, on the other hand, was stuck in her own constantly beautified memories and her fantasy with filters.
She even forgot that even the boy who looked pure and gentle ten years ago didn't give her much tenderness and pity after accepting her pursuit. Apart from the title of a boyfriend and girlfriend, there was no unforgettable mutual affection between them for more than ten years.
What she missed and liked might never be Josh Hunter, but the jealousy and envy from her peers after her dating Josh Hunter, the material superiority brought by Josh Hunter, and the sense of being the focus of the crowd and the aura of being the girlfriend of the god of learning.
It seemed that she had never had such a beautiful moment in her life.
-
The PR of Zero Degree noticed the unexpected situation on their side, and was just about to come forward to mediate. She also called the intercom to summon several security guards to prevent someone from deliberately making trouble.
But as soon as she stepped, she was suddenly pulled by someone. "Leave it alone."
Mandy Lee looked back and found it was Bonnie Smith who was elusive after the event started.
"Deputy editor, over there ..."
Bonnie Smith followed her voice to look over there. Her eyes were unblinking and her lips were slightly tilted upwards. She stressed again, "I said, don't worry, I'll take charge."
Their baby had endured for many years, and now Josh Hunter finally stood up for her. How could it be easily interrupted?
Obviously, the PR couldn't understand, but since Bonnie Smith had told her so,  she could only distract the security and ignore it.
-
This happened in front of the dessert table, and Betty Miller happened to be nearby.
Attracted by the movement of Diana Swift and Josh Hunter, she sat up from the couch for lazy people, and was so stunned that she forgot to eat the cake. She only unconsciously waved a small fork and said in her heart: Come on! Beat her! The bitch who had made our baby so aggrieved must die in situ and be wiped out on the spot! ! !
But the little goose's wish was doomed to fail.
Mandy Lee, despite all her faults, was also Josh Hunter's ex-girlfriend. It's impossible for a normal man to fight his ex-girlfriend in public and humiliate her verbally, let alone Josh Hunter.
In fact, Josh Hunter's move to stop and his merciless warning had already surprised Diana Swift.
She originally thought Josh Hunter pulled her to help her stop the glass of wine. He was such a rational man and how could he...

She stood behind Josh Hunter and it took her a long time to react. She had imagined countless times that Josh Hunter stood against Mandy Lee in order to safeguard her, which really happened.
She pulled at Josh Hunter's sleeve and peeked at Mandy Lee, not expecting to meet her rare unconcealed look of disgust.
Well, inexplicably, she felt it was cool.
She forgot the occasion at once, smiled softly at Mandy Lee in a sulky manner, and shrugged her shoulders. Her eyes were full of "I'm sorry, but I can't stop my husband from justifying me."
The next second, Josh Hunter looked back, and she instantly changed her face, pretending to be silly and sweet. She timidly tugged at his sleeve, with a good look that she didn't want to care more about with this woman.
She didn't know whether Josh Hunter didn't care what she did or didn't see through it. He really liked it, and he took the initiative to hold her and rubbed her head to show his comfort.
The frenemies who were watching the good show were not fools and they were quite observant. Previously, they stood at the back and watched as quiet as chickens. Now, they had a presentiment of the closing moment. One by one, they came forward to comfort Diana Swift and taunt Mandy Lee at the same time.
"Honey, you are just too kind. What kind of person is she? You even don't care that she bullies you. I'm so angry!"
"Diana has always been good-hearted. Don't you just know her today? By the way, it suddenly occurred to me that my friend said that she's most afraid of offending people who write books, draw pictures and make movies. Because if you make them unhappy, you are likely to be scandalized by their so-called works. Nowadays, more and more people are venting their personal anger under the banner of literary and artistic creation. "
"I think the most terrible thing these days is not venting personal anger under the banner of literary and artistic creation, but daydreaming under the banner of literary and artistic creation. I've never seen a woman who fantasizes that a man who has a wife is still obsessed with her after marriage."
"You just saw it."
Some of them couldn't resist and giggled.
After laughing, someone said, "Dear, we should not come to such events in the future. Anyone can get an invitation."
"If someone doesn't have an invitation letter, she still can enter together with people who have an invitation letter. No one can stop it."
Everyone smiled at each other and looked at Mandy Lee tacitly, with the same disdain in their eyes.
Diana Swift was often complimented, but she felt a bit guilty to be praised when she was standing beside Josh Hunter at the moment. Moreover, the taunts and eyes of her frenemies were quite good and they were like the movie queens. She was even a little embarrassed to look back at Mandy Lee's expression.
But ... she really felt great!
Diana Swift was even a little dizzy, but she was afraid that overdoing it would cause Josh Hunter to resent her and pity Mandy Lee, so she hastily agreed to several private parties that she was invited to attend, and then apologized for leaving first.
She said as she scanned around to find Bonnie Smith and Betty Miller. Bonnie Smith was probably too guilty because she betrayed her in the morning and she hadn't seen her yet, but she could see Betty Miller at a glance.
She quietly made a phone contact gesture toward Betty Miller. Then she pulled Josh Hunter and took the lead in leaving this malodorous activity.
-
"That, would you think I'm a bit too much for Mandy Lee?"
In the winter snow, Diana Swift couldn't help but ask Josh Hunter such a question on the way home.
"No." Josh Hunter was looking at the schedule on the tablet and answered without thinking.
Diana Swift felt a little at ease. She glanced at Josh Hunter a few times and then she put the hair behind her ear, made a casual look and asked while pretending to be playing with her mobile phone, "Mandy Lee said that you are completely different from before, but why do I feel that you are the same as before … Were you gentle when you dated Mandy Lee?"
She didn't wait for Josh Hunter's answer for a long time, but she muttered, "Anyway, I'll know it when the movie comes out."
Josh Hunter covered the tablet and understated, "Who knows if it will be released smoothly."
...?
Diana Swift wanted to ask something, but for a moment, she was relieved.
The film market was indeed bad. From the beginning of a film to its official release, the intermediate process was complicated and the waiting time was long. The phenomenon of half-abortion due to funding problems, actors' problems, etc. was too numerous to count. The movie was far from being finished and no one knew whether it would be released smoothly or not. She didn't have to bother herself too early.
-
Bentley drove all the way from the event site to Moonshadow Mansion. At the fork road that was about to enter the suburb, Josh Hunter looked at the sign of the fresh supermarket not far away and suddenly asked, "Diana, would you like to eat braised pork ribs today?"
"..."
When Diana Swift heard the word "ribs", she blushed and her heart beat reflexively. She still looked out of the window and waited until the traffic lights were about to change before stuttering. "It's … it's OK. I haven't eaten for a long time."
The driver understood and turned to drive towards the supermarket.
After Diana Swift answered, she blushed to her neck like a teenage innocent girl, and her heart beat very fast. She had to open a window to breathe.
The snow in P City in winter was always thick and bitter.
The snowflake wrapped in cold wind wafted in along the window seam and landed on Diana Swift's hair tip. Josh Hunter suddenly leaned over, helped her take the snowflakes out of her hair, and whispered behind her ear, "I'll make them for you when we get home."
