Chapter 115 Why Should She Be Punished

Chapter 115: Why Should She Be Punished?
The doctor prescribed Jane medicine for external application and reminded her to touch water or irritant things like shampoo and detergent before scabs formed.
Maybe it was because Edward accompanied her all the time, and the doctor treated her so kindly. Jane thanked him again and again. They came out of the emergency department at ease.
She thought Edward didn't recognize the doctor. However, he said as soon as he came out, "If he had been so sensible, he would have been promoted."
Jane smiled faintly and said, "He was so nervous. I'm afraid he can't sleep well tonight."
Edward said, "He should be grateful because I enlightened him."
Jane said, "It's so nice of you."
Edward said, "I just wanted to remind him, and I didn't want to scare him."
It was no exaggeration. People in other cities didn't know Edward, but he was so famous in S City.
They walked to the gate of the hospital. On the way, Jane said, "Mr. Smith, if you have something to do, you don't have to send me home."
Edward said, "I'm not that busy. I don't work at this time."
He sent her home. It was almost midnight. Edward said, "You don't have to go to my house these days. Deal with your own affairs first."
Edward knew she was going to have a hard day, so she didn't refuse. She replied, "Okay, I'll tell Justin about it tomorrow."
On the way to the hospital, they talked for a while. On the way back, they were both quiet. The car stopped in front of Rhine Garden. Jane thanked him and got off. When she walked back, she suddenly remembered that this was the second time she had got off his car that day.
No wonder it was said that the night was longer than the day. It was an unlucky and unusual long night.
The next morning, Jane went to the company as usual and bought breakfast for Aaron. It was more than seven o'clock in the morning. They started work at eight-thirty in the morning. In ordinary times, her workmates arrived a few minutes before eight-thirty, but most of them had arrived that day. With Jane's understanding of the company culture, she knew something must have happened.
Her intuition was right. Sure enough, after she sat down for a while, someone came and told her Sofia wanted to see her.
With a natural face, Jane got up and walked to Sofia's office. She habitually knocked on the door with her right hand. There was a large piece of white gauze on the back of her right hand. Originally, she didn't have to wrap her hand with gauze, but she didn't want the wound to be eye-catching, and she was too lazy to explain it to everyone.
"Come in."
Hearing this, Jane pushed the door open and went in.
Sofia raised her head, "Sit down."
Jane sat down, and Sofia exchanged banalities with her, "How's your work lately?"
Jane smiled and said, "Quite good."
Sofia smiled lightly, "Are the Smith family and the Perez family nice to you?"
Jane nodded and said, "They're easy to get along with."
The smile on Sofia's face gradually changed when she heard this, "Jane, I always thought that although you were young, you were very sensible, and you were smarter than ordinary people. What's more, you are Charles's junior in college. I thought he would tell you something in private. I didn't expect you to make a big mistake."
Jane had been mentally prepared, so she asked calmly, "What do you mean?"
Sofia turned the computer to her, and there was a video on the screen. It was the video of what she had done last night. She pressed Beth against the pillar and slapped her in the face. Jane was composed and even a little proud.

In fact, she hadn't beaten someone for many years. Especially after she decided to work hard, she cultivated and behaved herself. If she didn't see how aggressive and domineering she was in the video, she would have thought she was a quiet lady.
Only part of the video was shown. In the video, she looked heartless and violent.
Sofia said, "When I arrived at the company today, someone sent me this video, and many people complained that a private teacher in our company beat someone on the street at night, and they asked us to deal with it seriously, or this matter would receive wide coverage in the press. You know that reputation is the most important to us. Not only the teachers but also the whole company needs a good reputation. Therefore, no matter what relationship you have with Charles, I will handle this matter impartially."
Jane still looked calm and said, "I see."
Sofia hated to see her confident appearance the most. She looked like no one could punish her. She wanted to lose her temper, but she restrained herself and asked, "What is your relationship with this lady? Why did you slap her?"
Jane said, "Because of personal reasons."
Sofia stared at her and said, "You can't be offhand with me, and I can't convince others with such a reason."
Jane had nothing to say. Although she hadn't known Beth for a long time, it was a long story. If she explained, Edward would be mentioned.
"I know the regulations in the company. Private teachers have the responsibility and obligation to maintain their own and the company's image. No matter what the reason was, I made a mistake. I'm willing to accept the punishment."
Sofia didn't expect Jane to be so straightforward. That was what she was waiting for.
Pretending to be in a dilemma, Sofia said, "Are you sure you don't want to defend yourself?"
"Yeah, I..."
Before Jane finished speaking, Sofia looked behind her and became nervous.
She reacted slowly and looked back. Outside the transparent glass door, a receptionist stood there with a smile. Beside her was Edward who was wearing a beige leather coat.
The receptionist knocked on the door, came in, and said with a smile, "Miss Moore, Mr. Smith wants to meet you."
He wanted to meet Sofia, not Jane.
Sofia immediately got up and forced a smile, "Mr. Smith."
Edward did not look at Jane's surprised face. He pulled a chair and sat beside her, saying with a normal face, "Sit down."
Sofia nodded and almost thanked him, but it was her office.
She asked cautiously and nervously, "Mr. Smith, why do you come here early in the morning?"
Edward raised his head and happened to see the picture on the computer. There was no need to change the usual pleasantries, and he said bluntly, "How are you going to deal with this matter?"
Sofia's heart skipped a beat. No wonder Jane was fearless. It turned out she had asked Edward to help her.
With an awkward smile on her face, Sofia said, "Mr. Smith, I'm sorry to have caused you so much trouble. I'm investigating this matter and communicating with Miss Cooper. You've signed a contract with her. At present, it seems that she can't work for you anymore. Do you want to change a private teacher?"
Edward said, "Jane didn't do anything wrong. Why should I change a private teacher?"
Sofia froze, and she looked more embarrassed. She had nothing to say and directly clicked on the video. Edward stared at it expressionlessly.
Jane wished she could leave. She slapped Beth fiercely last night, but she was extremely ashamed at this time. However, Sofia had to play this video in front of Edward and embarrass her.
The video was not long. After watching it, Edward was the first to speak. He said faintly, "What's wrong? Should she be punished because she's good at fighting?"
