Chapter 58 Fussy Woman
Jane now regularly taught classes at the Smith family from Monday to Saturday morning. She also had classes from Monday to Wednesday afternoon. Originally, she was not free on Thursday and Friday. But after Edward turned her off a client, she had two free afternoons except weekends.
Jane picked up a call from Vincent in her office on Friday afternoon.
He asked, "Are you in the company?"
Jane said, "Yes, I am."
Vincent said, "Okay, I'll come up now."
He came so suddenly that Jane didn't know it before. But after Edward's frequent visits, the folks at Forward Education had calmed down. They at most admired Jane more in their hearts.
Vincent came to sign the official contract. Jane said, "Aren't you going to try me out for a while?"
Vincent smiled and said, "No. I trust you."
Jane said, "I know you and Mr. Smith are good friends. But finding a tutor for your child is a big deal. To find the right one is the most important thing. I'd like to try a few lessons first."
Vincent said, "It's not a question of whether you want it or not. You don't know Edward. He introduced you to me. If I dare to sign a trial contract with you, then I will be regarded as refusing to give him face. Believe it or not, he will tell you to turn me down right away. "
Of course Jane believed it.
Edward was very concerned about his reputation. Whenever she suffered damage because of him, he would compensate her immediately afterwards and never owe her. Likewise, he did not allow others to question the people he believed.
He was so powerful that he was a bit bossy.
After taking Vincent to the reception room, Jane went to Sofia. Sofia had tightened up a lot since Jane signed with the Smith family. Especially after Charles came back, she didn't dare to do things rashly. So, she could only watch Jane sign more and more clients now.
Vincent signed 100 lessons for the first time. Sofia behaved well this time. After the contract was signed, she left immediately without saying a word. She was afraid of getting the short end because of Edward.
There were only Jane and Vincent in the reception room. She smiled and said, "Thank you Mr. Perez."
Vincent laughed, "You're welcome. I should thank you. It's hard to find a reliable tutor these days."
After that, he asked, "You are free now, right?"
Jane responded, "I'm free. What's the matter?"
Vincent said, "My mom is downstairs. If you're free, she'd like to invite you to afternoon tea and drop by to talk about Henry."
Jane understood that this was an interview.
If it was just Vincent's treat, she would definitely decline. But now his mother was downstairs. She agreed immediately. After packing, she went downstairs with Vincent.
In this day, there were five chat groups in a six-person dorm. A man's mind was unpredictable. Not to mention, inn a company as large as Forward Education, the relationship between appearance and reality was even more complicated. Jane didn't know the rumors that she quickly caught up with Vincent and left with him during the day had exploded in various chat groups.
In fact, Jane would feel speechless when she saw it. After all, what was wrong with the fact that they left together at day?
...
A white Maybach was parked downstairs in Forward Education. Vincent gently opened the rear door for Jane. He then took his seat and said to the driver, "Go to Moonshadow."
In addition to Jane, there is a woman wearing a modified cheongsam sitting in the back seat of the car as well. The fitted dark purple cheongsam outlined her feminine curves. The shiny black hair was meticulously tucked behind her head. She was beautiful with light makeup but more of the calmness carved by the years.
Vincent turned his head and said, "Mom, this is the tutor Edward introduced."
Rachel looked sideways at Jane with a faint smile on her face, "Hello. Nice to meet you."
She glanced at Jane all over, "I knew you got your master degree of Y University. But I didn't expect you to be so young."
Jane said, "Well, I'm twenty-four."
Rachel said softly, "You're so pretty that you don't look like a teacher."
Jane had heard this kind of words too much. She just smiled.
Vincent said, "She can make money on her own. Being pretty is just a plus."
Rachel said, "In fact, it depends on what career you are doing. Being a star, having a good looking is of course a plus. But being a teacher, ability is the most important thing. Ordinary looks are the best. Too beautiful teachers will distract students."
Vincent couldn't help but look back at Jane and smile apologetically, "My mom talks straight. Please don't mind."
Jane smiled and said, "Of course not. Auntie is right."
Rachel asked without changing her face, "How long have you been a tutor?"
Jane said, "I have been working in S City for almost two months. When I was studying in Y City, I worked part-time as a tutor for more than a year."
Rachel said, "Then why don't you stay in Y City and come to S City?"
Jane said, "Two of my best friends are coming to S City to develop. So I came here together."
Rachel said calmly: "Young people should have their own opinions. It's not a good thing to follow the crowd."
Jane continued with a light smile, "Actually, I'm not following the crowd. At most I'm following the trend."
Rachel asked again, "Since you just came to S City, how did you meet Edward? How did you become the tutor of the Smith family?"
Jane said, "Mr. Smith was a client recommended by the company. I went for an interview and was tried for a few days. We both felt good about each other and signed a formal contract."
"It's that simple? I heard that the Smith family children have been looking for tutors for a long time. No one have been hired."
Rachel had really been asking questions since Jane got in the car. As Edward said, she was really a fussy woman.
Jane answered her questions patiently. Vincent probably felt embarrassed. He turned his head several times and said, "Mom, stop asking. That's enough. You are not working for government depatment."
Rachel said calmly, "I didn't ask about privacy. This is what I should know as a client and a parent. Now I'm looking for a tutor for your brother. Do you think this is the same as finding a girlfriend? After all, anyone can be your girlfriend."
Hearing this, Vincent immediately surrendered and did not dare to say anything.
Jane smiled and said, "It's okay. I understand how you feel. You can ask whatever you want."
Rachel didn't ask a question this time. She stated, "You are the tutor introduced by Edward. Vincent has a good relationship with Edward. So he signed a formal contract with you directly. But I still want to say something that Vincent is inconvenient to say."
Hearing this, Vincent coughed in the passenger seat.
Jane pretended not to hear, "Please tell me."
Ignoring Vincent, Rachel said, "I won't lower my standards for tutor just because you're acquaintance with anyone. For others, I'll try them out before deciding whether to hire them. You've met that standard now. But if you couldn't teach well, I'll still fire you."
In the spacious car, Jane sat up straight. She agreed: "Of course. If I don't teach well, I'm embarrassed to stay."
Vincent was about to turn back to speak when the phone rang. He flicked the switch on, "Hello."
Edward's voice came from the phone: "Did you go there?"
Vincent said, "We're done signing. We're going to Moonshadow. Are you coming?"
