Chapter 6 You’re Not Wearing Clothes

Chapter 6 You're Not Wearing Clothes
It was all quiet and the atmosphere suddenly became ambiguous.
"I..." Natalie was stunned and was unsure what she had done that day.
"Oh, shut up!" Luke said calmly with a hint of displeasure.
Hearing this, Mark felt wronged, "You said you wanted Dr. Moore to be responsible for you... I still have the chatting records here. Would you like to show it to Dr. Moore..."
Natalie was dumbfounded and thought, "Come on."
"Can't it happen when I sleepwalk?" Luke glared at Mark, and the latter was silent.
Natalie was speechless.
Natalie thought, "Man, shut up."
Under such a distressing situation, Luke said in a low and emotionless voice, "Don't listen to his nonsense."
Natalie was embarrassed to ask further questions even if she had one, and she had to say, "Oh..."
But she felt guilty and worried somewhat, especially when he just helped her just now.
After thinking about it again, Natalie said, "I'm sorry about your wound. Let me help you, please?"
Luke seemed a little shocked and looked up at her. He was silent for a few seconds and laughed, "Oh, okay."
Natalie nodded lightly, "Try to keep still."
"I will." Luke narrowed his eyes.
After hesitating for a moment, Natalie softened her tone a little and tentatively discussed with him, "And... don't complain about me again, will you?"
Luke looked at her again and smiled. Then he slowly glared at Mark again.
"Did you hear that?"
He said in a serious tone, "Stop complaining about her."
Mark groaned secretly and suddenly stood up, "Dr. Moore, I'm sorry! I didn't mean that!"
Natalie thought, "Oh, it's you."
Natalie looked at him and said, "It's okay.".
After that, Mark smiled again and came up with an idea, "Hey, Dr. Moore. What's your Instagram? I'll get in touch with you directly if there's anything. Sorry about this again!"
Natalie pondered for a moment and agreed.
She accepted it to prevent such cases from happening again.
Luke looked down, and his short hairs hanging down lazily, obscuring his brows.
Hearing that, he looked up and saw that they had followed each other in Instagram.
-
Natalie made light moves when going back to her station.
There were numerous stations in this office. All the residents, trainees, and interns in orthopedic surgery were here
2:09 p.m was an awkward time. There wasn't enough time for her to have some sleep, yet she was able to take a nap.
At that time, some people woke up one after another and some were still wearing blindfolds.
So Natalie slumped to the table and rested for ten minutes.
Natalie didn't fall asleep, only rested for a while in a hazy state. When she opened her eyes, the lunch break was coming to an end. People in the office began to talk to each other or be busy working.
She massaged her sore neck and sat up.
"Nata."
Natalie looked up when she heard someone call her.
"Here." Sherman, sitting directly across from her, flicked a bottle of coconut water. The bottle rolled along with the table and stopped at Natalie's hand.
Natalie instantly got awake. She took the coconut water and looked at Sherman, "You are always the best."
Sherman raised her eyebrows, "Joyce blamed you again, right?"
Natalie smiled without answering, unscrewed the cap, and took a sip.
Natalie thought, "It was also her fault for being lax. But she'll keep in mind next time..."
"With the absence of Mr. Atkinson, Joyce had the guts to blame you like that every time." Sherman snorted, resenting Joyce so much.
Although she was also a resident physician, Sherman was 6 feet tall, with short blue-grey hair, which made her like a cold and quiet boy. Sherman only got along with Natalie in the whole department.
Joyce was inclined to bully the weak and fear the strong. And usually, Joyce didn't pick on her.
"Forget it. In more than a month, Mr. Atkinson will be back on New Year's Day." Natalie smiled softly.
Sherman knew that Natalie didn't want to cause trouble in the hospital, so she sighed and said nothing. She lowered her voice and asked, "Did that guy in No. 901 do anything to you?"
When Natalie thought about it, she realized that he hadn't done anything unreasonable to her.
He even had rescue her from a siege.
Before Natalie could speak, a coy voice interrupted the conversation.
"Luke Bennington isn't someone to be messed with."
Daisy entered the office, walked over to her desk, sat down without looking away, and said, "The hospital soon will be his. If you make any more mistakes, I'm afraid Mr. Scott will have to fire you."
"Nata, just watch your step." Daisy glanced right at Natalie.
Natalie couldn't tell whether Daisy was gloating or cynical, but she could feel both.
Sherman snorted quietly.
"Well, I will." Natalie said calmly with a faint smile, "Beds No. 9 and No. 14 are discharged today. Please finish the discharge summary. The patient in bed No. 7 will have surgery tomorrow. Mr. Butler has urged you twice about his preoperative evaluation. If you can't finish it, it will affect this month's evaluation. When the shift is over on Monday, I'm afraid Ms. Locke will be criticized along with you."
Daisy was choked for a moment.
"You do remember so much about me..." She muttered to herself, "Did you have nothing else to do?"
Natalie had already turned on the computer, put on her glasses, and was about to start working. She looked over with an innocent smile, "Yeah, I'm only one course away from completing the writing. After that, I'm going to the outpatient clinic to study."
Daisy looked displeased.
Natalie glanced at the blank document on Daisy's computer screen. "Don't you know how to write that? Want me to teach you?"
Natalie did mean to help Daisy at this time. She was afraid that Daisy would make the patient delay the time for medical treatment. But Daisy was arrogant and extremely conceited. She suddenly became unpleasant and said that she did not need her help.
Natalie wisely walked away.
After a while, Natalie heard Sherman call her name.
Sherman was fiddling with a pen in her right hand, scrolled through Facebook, and looked over with a pretty face, "I just found that someone said Luke is very hot. They said he was the hottest-looking guy in the world! Really?"
With Mia's excited reaction earlier, Natalie was already not surprised and just said with a smile, "Why don't you check the ward with me tomorrow and see him yourself?"
"Nah, I'm not crazy." Sherman felt shuddered and resisted her advice, giving her the phone after a decisive rejection.
"It's these netizens who go crazy."
Natalie took the phone subconsciously and looked at the screen.
It turned out that Luke's car accident became the top trending topic.
The intention of these bloggers was probably to attract attention. Their blog's content was subjective. They all used words like "The scene of the car accident was tragic" and "It is unknown whether he is still alive in the ICU", which was seriously inconsistent with the truth.
However, netizens had long been accustomed to reading such rumors that exaggerate the facts.
Some netizens asked, "Really?"
Other netizens said, "We won't believe it if there is no picture."
...
And there were more comments like, "Nice try. Don't make it up again next time. I saw that he was awake in the ambulance. Moreover, he had no obvious traumatic injuries. For those who said it was unknown whether he was still alive in the ICU, didn't you feel guilty about it?"
Luke seemed to be so special. He never showed up publicly and his photos were not allowed to be broadcast on the Internet due to his former identity. So, he was a mystery.
When he left the military academy, no one knew whether he set fire to the president's office of the Bennington Group on purpose or not. A confidential document that Noah had not yet processed was burnt to ashes.
Afterward, he met Noah, who didn't dare to lose his temper, and just said coldly-
"It's been a long time, Noah."
Biting a cigarette and sneering, he appeared to be irritating.
There were many similar rumors about him.
It was easy for people to have an endless longing for the unknown. He was like a legend, with the image of a "bad guy and evil villain".

Since then, Luke unexpectedly became more popular than the superstar.
Everyone fervently called him Luke.
As expected, this right-thinking comment aroused heated debate.
"How dare you make things up and distort the truth? It is incredible how you dare to ruin people's reputation like this."
"Fraudsters will consider that you are their pals when they read it."
"You guys are so brave. How do you dare to make a rumor about Luke? What a surprise!"
"Are you guys starting to doubt yourselves?"
"Haha! You should be ashamed of yourselves."
...
Some netizens asked the key question to this matter, "Is Luke that cute?"
"Yeah! I'm not lying to you guys!!! He's super handsome!!!"
"I think I married too early. Now I so want to divorce."
As a result, the more the netizens discussed, the crazier they became.
"Haha, calm down."
"I got it! Everyone, hurry up and get your tickets to Alcomara!"
"Ah! What if Luke compares with Calvin? Who is more handsome?"
"What about Luke versus Athana's theatre artist Jepson?! Who is hotter?"
"Oh, no, is there not a single picture of Luke? I also want to see what Luke looks like. I want to sleep with him all night!"
Suddenly, someone started to talk dirty.
"Calm down, control yourself..."
...
Natalie casually scrolled through the comments on the phone screen. She thought it was quite interesting at first until she saw the word "Jepson".
Her eyes dimmed, and she dispelled such thoughts immediately.
"Well, wouldn't you think this is a good assignment?"
As soon as Natalie returned the phone to Sherman, Daisy said with some sarcasm.
Daisy rested her fingers on the keyboard and glanced sideways, "People like Luke are the most unpredictable. You wouldn't know when you will meet your doom. Take care of yourself."
A fake concern couldn't be concealed.
Daisy's meaning was obvious.
She just wanted to see Natalie make a fool of herself.
Sherman was annoyed by Daisy's pretentiousness, but Natalie didn't bother to argue. Before Sherman despised her, Natalie said with a smile, "Thanks."
It was said that a smiling face was the best way to deal with this kind of person.
Nothing could provoke Natalie. Daisy grew bored and resentfully went off to work.
Finally, there was some peace.
After Natalie finished writing Luke's medical report, she wanted to attend the outpatient clinic. Suddenly, a shadow fell around her, and someone tapped three times on her desk.
When she looked up, she saw Joyce standing there.
Joyce was much colder than ever, "There are three newly hospitalized patients, Beds No.6, No.8, and No. 10, you better be there in time to receive them after 3 pm."
Natalie was speechless.
She thought, " I've never seen anyone so brazen like you! Why don't you just let Daisy go home! Daisy doesn't have to do anything in the hospital anyway!"
Natalie was desperate.
But Joyce's revenge was also reasonable. After all, she got into trouble with Luke, and it was because of her.
The sudden assignment kept Natalie busy until 7 pm.
During that time, she turned down Forrest's private party.
At the end of autumn, the sun set early, and the sky was already getting dark.
Natalie began to think about whether to cook dinner at home or just ordered a take-out and eat it at home. She was in a tizzy. She walked out of the inpatient building and happened to meet Mark, who came back in a hurry.
"Dr. Moore!"
Mark came to Natalie excitedly, "Are you free now?"
Natalie was slightly confused, "... yes."
"Great!" Mark showed the lunchbox in his hand, "Please do me a favor. Just give Luke his dinner, please? I lost my phone. I have to find it quickly. I'll have trouble if I don't find it!"
Seeing him in a hurry, Natalie didn't know why, but she still took the lunch box and agreed, "Okay."
Mark thought she was like an angel.
After Mark ran away in a hurry, Natalie glanced at the lunch box in her hand, sighed, and walked back.
She thought she would be able to go home when she finished this. But when Natalie rang the doorbell of No. 901 and waited for a while, no one answered.
Maybe Luke was alone and had trouble walking?
Natalie thought so, knocked on the door three times, and said, "Mr. Bennington, I'll come in then."
There was no response.
Natalie held the doorknob and pushed the door open.
No one was in the living room. The light was off, and only a floor lamp was turned on by the window. The curtains were open, and it was dark outside.
No one was lying on the hospital bed by the floor-to-ceiling windows.
She somehow felt like she was escaping from a secret room.
Natalie hesitated for a moment and called "Mr. Bennington" twice. Then she took small steps, walked slowly into the room, and gently put the lunch box on the coffee table.
She looked twice and found the area from the dining room to the master bedroom dark and unlit.
Could he be in the room?
Natalie had an intermittent phobia of darkness and didn't know where was the light switch in the hallway. She didn't dare to go there in the dark. After struggling for a while, she took out the cell phone in her bag, turned on the flashlight, and cautiously made her way along the wall to the front of the bedroom.
But she couldn't find the touch button for a long time.
At this time, the screen suddenly lit up, and the phone suddenly started vibrating.
It was Forrest.
Natalie overestimated her adaptability in the dark. The call was like a lifesaver. Without thinking, she answered it and turned back to speak outside.
The moment she turned back and was about to talk, the light from the screen suddenly illuminated the face of the man behind her.
"Ah!"
Natalie screamed in fright, shaking her hand, and the phone fell on the carpet with a muffled sound.
The man showed up silently.
Luke was leaning against the door. Probably because his lumbar spine was strained, he couldn't stand for a long time.
His short, freshly washed hair was wet and a white towel rested on his neck. The robe of his black pajamas was open and untied. The gauze wrapped around his waist was slightly wet with water, and his neat and firm chest and abdomen muscles were revealed.
.
Natalie was two steps away from him.
Her mobile phone on the ground was shining and it was still on the phone.
Under the half-dark light, Luke was tall and slender, and he looked over.
Deep shadows were enveloped around his eyes, making him look like a dangerous addict.
In this dark, closed space, the fact that Natalie was not alone made her feel much relieved.
After seeing Luke's upper body clearly, Natalie couldn't help but let out another shriek. She covered her eyes and turned to face the wall.
Luke looked at her calmly with a smile.
His voice was slightly hoarse at night, and it was probably due to the pain in his waist when he was taking a shower.
"I haven't screamed yet. What are you screaming for?"
The room was dark with a vague gleam. His low voice inadvertently was mixed with a bit of temptation.
Natalie suddenly thought of the netizen who "wanted to sleep with Luke all night".
She became more and more embarrassed and murmured timidly, "But you are not wearing clothes."
Luke looked down.
Luke thought, "Aren't my pants too tight? How come I'm not wearing clothes?"
"Look at me again." He said in a careless tone.
Natalie thought, "No. I saw it enough." Suddenly, she realized that what she had said before was unprofessional. He was a patient, and she was a doctor, so there was no need for her to shy away from the patient.
After some thoughts, Natalie slowly turned sideways. She averted her eyes slightly, "I'm sorry, I didn't know you were... taking a shower."
Anyway, she never imagined that he would get out of bed alone without calling for help.
Luke smiled intriguingly and didn't speak.
Something was weird. Natalie looked up, only to see that Luke glanced at the floor.
"Nata?"
At this moment, Forrest's voice came out of the phone.
Natalie came to her senses and picked up her phone in a hurry.
Her voice was warm and sweet with a girlish ingratiating tone. She covered her lips and said she was still busy and would call him later. Then she immediately disconnected the call.
Luke just leaned against the door languidly and didn't move, seemingly nonchalant.
"Your boyfriend?"
