After long hours of waiting and waiting, the door opened again. My eyes could only see the silhouette of whoever that person was. That person came closer and closer, so close our chests were touching, and finally, I passed out of exhaustion.
'Please don't be Ren. Please be someone else, someone who would save me from this hell hole.' was what I thought as I lost the last bit of my consciousness.

All I heard afterwards were voices. The surroundings felt strange and unfamiliar. The air didn't taste salty. It didn't feel heavy as before but soft and light. And I wasn't lying on the hard, wet, and dirty ground anymore. But it was... a soft place, and I could feel my body being groggier on it to take the maximum comfort.
My body hurt. I didn't want to move for my greed for comfort. It was as if my body was asking me not to move. If I do, we will lose comfort.
And I heard a few voices;
"What a dumbarse. It's a surprise she survived."
"I knew Luna could not be that tight-hearted. She also has a heart."
"And what about you? Why did you take her in here?! I thought you hated her."
"Can you all please leave?! I did it for a reason! You don't have to know every single thing I do. Stop being nosy."
Yes, I heard a few sentences, but I couldn't understand what the conversation was about. Was it about me? Or was it about the Luna or someone else? I finally drifted off to sleep while thinking hard about what they were talking about. It was time for me to take some rest.
And then, I was awake again. But this time, my eyelids were open, but darkness was all I could see. I blinked a few times and tried to know where I was or if the comfort I felt was all a dream. But from the corner of my eyes, I saw something shiny, something shiny that might be some kind of a light bulb.
It made me realise I was finally out of the hell hole, though I didn't know where I was or what might happen to me. I felt much better from lying on the comfortable surface. It was the most comfortable place I've ever been in. I slowly sent my arms, feeling the mattress kind of thing with my hands. It felt so soft against my rough, bruised fingers.
Then suddenly, I gasped and sat from the lying position. The darkness was covering me like a blanket of misery. I started searching for any light source that would help me see where I was. Plus, I was sure someone came into that empty room, maybe taking me out of there, but I had no idea who did that and for what purpose.
I pursed my chapped lips, and it made me realise my throat wasn't as dry as it was before. And when I tried to move, I felt a tug on my right hand. I slowly sent my left hand's fingers over there, and I felt something plastic on my skin. When I pressed around, I felt a sting of pain go through the veins of my hand. Was it a canula?
Just then, the lights came on, and finally, I could see where I was. I was in a small room that looked like someone's bedroom. I was on an unfamiliar bed, tucked inside some blankets. And I felt something different with the surrounding there. It was warm but wasn't it winter? During the winter, it had never been warm for me because we didn't have heaters in the basement. But the room I woke up in had a heater.
Someone came into my view, and that someone turned out to be the person I never thought I would first see after escaping the hell hole.
'Jane? This bich.' Sparkle cursed in my mind.
"How do you feel? Give me a thumbs up if you feel healthy," she said, crossing her arms on her chest.
I slowly raised my left hand and folded every finger instead of the thumb. Then I showed her my hand, which was a thumbs up.
"Cool, go back to sleep," she ordered, but I didn't move, giving her a confused look.
"Listen here, troublemaker. I picked you out of that dirty room after Luna told me to do so. Just go back to sleep, and I will drop you in the basement after you are healed." she said. But her tone wasn't as cross as before. Her tone held something new that I'd never heard from her voice.
Hoping she would tell me what was going on, I looked at her again.
"Just that..." she started but trailed off. "From where did you get that necklace of yours?" she asked, pointing at my neck. So I looked down at my neck to find a necklace there. It was a pale white necklace that was so beautiful. And it was the first time I saw that necklace around my neck.
So I shrugged.
"Tell me.... wait-" she stopped talking and went to a small table where some books were. She grabbed a book, tore out a piece of paper, and came to me with a pen. "Tell me how you got it," she said again.
I took the paper and pen from her hands, confused about the whole thing. Then I wrote an answer;
'I don't know. This is not mine.'
She looked at me, still crossing her arms on her chest. She squinted her eyes like she was thinking about something, investigating me.
"Did you ever have a sibling?" she asked.
I shook my head.
Jane sighed and sat next to me on the bed, facing me. She was silent for a good minute and then spoke up.
"I used to have a friend in my old pack. I was around seven when I met her. She was wearing this kind of necklace, and she told me the tales about it." she started explaining with furrowed eyebrows.
I listened to every word she said.
"Her name was Charleigh. She was the same age as me. She said when she was born. Her mother put a necklace on her neck. It was a special necklace that was made out of 'disappearing pearls'... means it won't be shown to outsiders but will be visible in certain events. But I don't know when exactly... and you are wearing the same kind." she broke the news.
I gave her a confused look. I couldn't understand a word she said.
"She also said her younger sister is wearing the same thing, which was born when she was four years old. However, they got separated when her parents passed away. My previous pack went under a rogue attack, and she disappeared after that. I never saw Charleigh again. And it haunted me for days, mostly the words she said about finding her sister no matter what, even after death."
I nodded.
"I believe you are the younger sister she talked about." her fingertips touched the pearl necklace that I was wearing. "And this is your 'disappearing pearl' necklace."
I wrote on paper.
'Are you sure? Because my caregiver never told me about any of these. Plus, I don't think someone like me can own this kind of beautiful necklace.'
"You were just a small kid, so maybe she didn't fill you with anything," she replied to what I wrote.
'Then... what is the purpose of this necklace?'
"It loses a pearl whenever you need help," she said. Then she came closer to me and examined the necklace for a minute. "Here," she mumbled, getting my attention. Then she turned the necklace so the behind of it was in front of me, and then she let me touch a small space between two buds.
"You've lost one today," she said with a smile.
'How does it work??' I was so confused. I never knew about this necklace.
"It loses one when you need help, and the rest is all a miracle. Suddenly Luna came to me and said I should release you from the empty room. This is like a necklace filled with blessings and miracles. But I've never heard about this kind of pearl before, so I think this is a special enchanted one." she said.
I took a good minute digesting the words she said. Then I took the paper from her hands.
'Thank you... for getting me out of there.' I wrote and flashed her a big smile.
"I just did what Luna asked me to do," she said, rolling her eyes. And she was back to being the mean one. "Anyways, I am happy you are alive. Now get some more rest. You look like a drug addict." she laughed and gently pushed me to bed.
