Chapter 33

Louve caught up to Logan and they continued to walk in silence. There were a lot of plans in her head as to how she would bring Logan and his mate even closer but she didn't share them. She knew how her cousin would react to them anyway.

She was an expert in bringing two lovers together; two people who were destined to be with each other. Although she hadn't been blessed with her own mate by the Goddess, she always tried her best to see to it that others have a blissful relationship with theirs. And now that Logan had confessed to her that he had successfully imprinted on someone, she had taken it upon herself to make him fall in love with her.

She also suspected that Logan and whomever his mate was hadn't had sex. Sex was the final stage of mating and after they had sex, they would be absolutely inseparable. But with the way Logan was acting as though he didn't want his mate, she knew that they hadn't consummated the union.

Logan glanced at his cousin as they walked towards the pack house. He saw the way she was smiling to herself and wondered what was on her mind. "Hey." He called "What evil plan are you thinking up this time?"

"Oh, nothing you need to know." Louve replied with a flippant tone.

"Well, I'm very sure it's something I need to know. Spill."

"I won't." Louve replied, rolling her eyes. "No need to worry your silly head about my plans."

He kept mute as they continued to walk. Then a few minutes later when they got to the pack house, she suddenly gave a loud squeal.

"What is it? What is it?!" Logan asked, alarmed. He grabbed her shoulders and shook her, thinking perhaps she'd hurt herself. But she only shrugged off his hands and kept walking. "It's nothing, Nut. I told you. I'll do this myself."

"I don't trust you though!" He called after her as she kept walking but she ignored him and walked into the pack house.

He shook his head and smiled fondly as she went inside. He had no idea what plan she was formulating, but he knew that she would be sly about telling him. And there was a pretty good chance that the plan concerned him.

He remembered something she had done when they were kids.  It was a silly prank that had almost cost his mother her health. She had pretended that she was having an allergic reaction, faking a seizure and scaring everyone in the pack house. His mother had been the first to see her. The former Luna had been so scared that she had almost had a seizure herself.

There were several pranks that Louve had played on several members of the family. She used to be a familiar terror when they were younger, and Logan knew that although she didn't engage in petty pranks anymore, she could still be very sly and conniving.

But despite her several sneaky escapades, Logan. still loved his cousin very much. She was inquisitive and looked at every issue with a positive eye. He only hoped that one of her sneaky plans would not land her into trouble one day.

He walked into the house through the kitchen door and looked around. The kitchen was empty. He moved to the foyer and saw that the door was ajar. He frowned with anger, wondering who had left the door open. He had always sounded the warning that all doors be securely closed. Logan moved to the door to close it, then he saw his cousin outside on the pack house's lawn.

"Hey! Why did you leave the doors open?" He called after her. When she didn't reply to him, he walked over and shook her shoulders. "Will you be going to your room or will you keep snooping around like a curious dog? What are you doing out here?"

She didn't reply to him. Her back was to him and she was sniffing the air experimentally.

"What's wrong? What do you smell, Louve?" He asked. He was starting to get worried.

"Shut up." She ordered, then sniffed again. "Don't you smell that thing?"

"What thing?" Logan sniffed once. "I don't smell anything special." All he could smell was freshly mown grass and wet soil.

"Logan! Smell deeper. Can you not perceive it? It's...tantalizing, special, delicious."

Logan groaned as he thought that this was one of her silly pranks. "Look, Louve. I don't know what you are trying to do here but I'm not buying it. I'm going inside."

"No., Louve replied and grabbed his arm. "Don't go."

Logan stared at his cousin and realised that she was deathly serious about whatever she could smell. He had never seen her so concentrated on one single in all his life. Her brows were furrowed in a frown and her nails were digging painfully into his upper arm. Her eyes were darting everywhere as though she was trying to catch the source of the smell.

As for Louve, she had never smelled something so intoxicating, so arousing in her entire life. It tugged at her senses, and made her curious to find out its source. It was as though a powerful, more supreme force was trying to lure her with its scent. She had never felt this way before.

The smell was lemony with a slightly salty aftertaste. She closed her eyes and sniffed appreciatively, smiling as the scent made her wolf give a sigh of pleasure. She opened her eyes and tugged at Logan's arm. "Come on, we need to find out where the smell is coming from."

"We? I can't smell fuck anything." Logan protested. "What does this have to do with me?"

"Ugh, fine!" She glared at her cousin. "I'll do this myself then." She muttered and took off running into the woods.

"Louve, fuck!" Logan swore and shuffled impatiently. He really wanted to go back into the pack house but he could not leave his cousin in the woods alone. Not with the killings going on. Damn, cousins could be a pain in the ass, he thought.

He ran after her into the woods, still calling her name. She was nowhere to be found by the time he got into the forest, but he traced her with his heightened wolf senses. He got to where she was and stopped, wondering what was wrong with her.

She was standing and staring at something a distance away with rapt attention. He couldn't see what she was looking at but he could hear footsteps coming toward them.

"Hey, Louve." He called her, tugging at her arm. "Let's get out of here. The woods aren’t safe this period."

She didn't budge. She kept staring at the distance with anticipation as the footsteps drew nearer. Then the steps stopped altogether, and from the trees appeared Casper.

He was dressed in a pair of joggers and a tank top, his lanky blonde hair plastered to his forehead. He was panting heavily, and he stopped to rest against a nearby tree. He stopped panting when he saw them and waved eagerly.

"Hey, guys! What are you doing out here?" He called.
