A few days after this encounter between Aella and Logan, the atmosphere was booming with celebration as Casper and Louve were getting married. Preparations had started in earnest and Louve could often be seen in a flurry of activities, followed by Aella her new best friend.
Meanwhile, Logan tried to avoid the wedding fever as much as possible. The only contribution he made to the whole thing was to give Louve permission to use the foyer of the pack house for her wedding. He always stayed holed up in his room or in the strategy room, trying to block out the noise of squealing maids and Louve's loud voice giving commands. Sometimes he wondered why they were rushing to get the marriage rites done but nonetheless, he was happy that Louve had finally found someone that made her happy.
Today he was in the strategy room, trying to stay away from all the frenzy. He couldn't handle it; the sight of balloons and confetti everywhere reminded him of how different his relationship with Aella was from Casper and Louve's. And it saddened his heart so much. He did not know what was essentially wrong between the both of them.
Didn't the Goddess bring together two people who could complement each other perfectly? People who could live in harmony without any hitches? Logan didn't see how he was similar to Aella in any way. If anything, they only got each other angry or extremely horny when they were together in the same room.
His mind flashed back to when Aella had begged him to let her go. He had seen the determination in her eyes and he knew that she would definitely go if he allowed her, mating bond or not. Aella was that stubborn. He wondered if she didn't feel the same way he felt about her. Did her heartbeat run faster when she saw him? Did she get tongue-tied anytime she was in his presence? Was she in love with him the way he was in love with her?
She had also mentioned that some people were after her life and that the attack on her had been a warning. The deaths of his armies have surely reduced and he was grateful for that, but it seemed suspicious that the deaths stopped suddenly and aella was attacked right inside the packhouse. The whole thing screamed suspicion.
Why was she running? Whom was she running from? Where was she running to? He would definitely find out.
He had refused her request to leave the pack as he knew the anguish he would go through if she did. He hadn't even recovered from the last one properly. If she left, he felt he would simply die. He had also refused to be rejected by her because he really wanted to give their relationship a try. He wanted them to break the walls that stood between them, to try and repair their bond, but it seemed all she wanted to do was leave him.
Logan groaned and leaned against the table with his head in his hands. She was also trying to seduce him and she had been successful. These days all that was in his head was her body. So much for not wanting a mate.
The door creaked open and Logan looked up. He saw that it was Casper and he gestured for the other man to come in
"Wedding boy!" He teased, though his heart was not in it. "I hope the wedding fever is not getting to you?"
"Oh, it is," Casper answered, smiling. He came to sit beside the alpha. "You know how intense Louve can get when she really wants something. She had been trying to involve me in the whole preparation but honestly, I just want to get married to her and get all of this over with as soon as possible."
Logan noticed how he spoke about Love with the utmost love. In the space of a week, since they imprinted, they had become so besotted with each other that it left a lot to be desired in his own relationship with Aella. How did Casper and Louve get so close?

Before now, they had only been friends of Logan and nothing more, occasionally teaming up to play a prank or two on the alpha. And within a week, their relationship had blossomed from mere friends to lovers.
"Well, try not to let it get to you too much," Logan answered, forcing a laugh.
"I won't, alpha. I won't." Casper said, smiling.
"And congratulations too. I'm really happy that you were able to find your soul mate so quickly. Some people don't find theirs till they are old and ready to die." Logan said, shaking his beta's hand.
"I'm very happy too. And I promise to always love and cherish her for the rest of my life."
"You do that. Louve might look like a person who can handle anything that comes by her–and sure, she can–but deep down she's a very vulnerable person. She easily gets hurt too. Please take care of her and consider her feelings in everything you do." Logan added.
"I will, alpha." Casper paused, looking at his alpha. Then he continued. "And what about your own mate, alpha? How are things going with her? Are you still fighting the mating bond?"
Logan avoided Casper's eyes. "Let's not talk about my mate for today, all right? Today is all about you and your lover."
"Okay, okay." Casper grinned and stood up "The wedding starts at six tonight. Don't be late, Alpha."
"I have never been late a minute in my entire life." The alpha said mockingly and they both laughed, then Casper walked out of the room.
When it was time for the wedding, Logan walked down the staircase dressed in a spiffy midnight blue suit with a lighter blue shirt underneath. Immediately he stepped into the foyer he was stunned into silence. The whole place was absolutely breathtaking.
Curtains of deep blue cloth hung from ceiling to floor. The curtains had imprinted stars on them and it looked as though he was staring at a starry night sky. Midnight blue balloons and confetti fluttered around his legs and in one corner was the grand piano that used to be the centre of attraction in the foyer before. Kylie was sitting behind the piano and playing very skillfully, filling the whole room with soft, ambient music.
Chairs had been arranged in such a way that an aisle ran between them, and a makeshift altar had been set up, decorated with equally blue material.
Logan looked around with amazement. His cousin had really done work on the whole place. Everywhere was breathtaking and beautiful.
Soon everyone sat down and the wedding started in earnest. Logan stood beside a very anxious Casper and tried to calm him. After a while, everyone stood up as the bride walked in. Louve was utterly unrecognizable. She wore a short white lace gown with a veil that reached down to her feet. She was absolutely beautiful.
She walked up to the altar alone and Logan wondered where Aella her new best friend was. He looked around over the heads of people sitting down and he didn't see her curly black hair or her small frame anywhere.
The two mates took their vows before a wolf priest and were proclaimed as man and wife. Amidst cries of "Kiss, kiss!" from the crowd of seated people, Logan continued to look for his mate with his eyes. And immediately the two newlyweds kissed and the whole foyer erupted in cheers and whistles, Aella walked down the staircase.
Logan's eyes were immediately drawn to her and he gaped as he saw her. She looked even more beautiful than the bride if that was a possible thing. Her gown, which was made of the same midnight blue material as Logan's suit, was tightly fitted and had cutouts at the waist. Her hair hung down her back in one smooth flow of black. She wore very little makeup but her lips had been dabbed with black shiny lipstick and there was midnight blue glitter on the left side of her face. She looked like a wolf goddess.
"Whoa!" That was all Logan could utter.
