"This is ridiculous!" Charles flung the paper at the man that stood before him. He wore a black suit that clung to him and breeches with a pair of black boots. He was the King's messenger.
"I'm not signing this. We had an agreement. And that agreement is to become the Alpha. Not some godforsaken region governor."
"I was sent by the King, not by my own will. The King requests an answer by tonight, latest." With this, he turned outside and he turned to hit the wall. How can this be happening to him?
Just when he thought he was about to have his dreams come true, Lyne came back. That bastard. She was nothing but a pain in the ass and he had been lenient enough to ask that she be spared. This time, he will kill her for real. His jaws clenched and he gritted his teeth until the door opened and Korba came in.
"I hear you refused to sign the papers." She said, her voice reaching his ears.
He became irritated that he turned to her abruptly.
"You believed I was going to sign that trash?!" He asked, hardening his gaze on her. "Not in my dreams or trance. I am going to become the Alpha and that's that."
He turned to move but Korba grabbed his arm and pushed him backward.
"You're being foolish if you don't know. You should show your support if you want to win this war." She said which infuriated him.
"Suppo...Korba, I think it's high time you left. Please, leave."
"Listen to me," Korba moved closer, eyes leveled against his. "No matter how many papers are signed by the council or by the Alpha himself, the people won't recognize Lyne as the Alpha. She doesn't have the right to be there."
Charles settled, brows furrowing. "How? What do you mean?"
Korba lowered her voice after looking around to ensure nobody is listening. "Lyne is an illegitimate daughter. Her mother was human which makes her an outcast. I doubt if the council will agree to sign her in as the Alpha but to be on the safe side, even if it happens, the people won't accept her."
A hopeful smile lifted his lips. "So, you're saying Lyne has a low chance of becoming the King here?"
"Queen." Korba corrected.
"Omega."
"Sure," she shook her head as if to say “whatever”.
"What I'm saying is, right now, be worried about letting the people see how you alone are fit for the throne."
He searched her eyes and nodded, loving the idea. He'd have to play the mind game.
"I'll take that as a consolation."
"So, now, what you'll do, is take that paper, sign the darned thing and be good to people. No one will teach them before they know who is rightful for the crown." An evil smile played on her lips.
His sister had now become a bad bitch as he knew her to be and for a moment he thought she was on Lyne's side.
"Didn't you act like you wanted Lyne to be on the throne?"
"That's what sets us apart. Me and you. I do my things undercover. If you can't do the same, I'm sorry for you. Unfortunately, you have lots of siblings who will eventually clamor for the throne once they are all grown up. The time to learn is now before they do."
"Talking about siblings," he frowned, stepping backward. "Does that include you?"
Korba shifted on her legs. "I don't know. But I hope as of now, you take in my advice and use them for your benefit."
"How do I know you're not setting me up right now?"

"Because," Korba stepped towards him. "I'm your freakin' sister and you becoming the Alpha automatically gives me power."
He exhaled audibly, nodding and becoming relaxed. "Fine. So, it's us against the rest."
"It's us against Lyne. That girl isn't easy. I've known it since we were kids."
He nodded. "Well explained. I'll just go get the papers and sign them."
"Good. I like that you know what to do and the right thing to do," she went to the door. "Brother." Then she stepped outside.

Luana threw her head back as she pushed the bottle of gin into her mouth, downing the liquid. She looked at Reyns who walked into the room, unbuttoning his shirt. She laid back on the bed, thinking of all that has happened in the past. She never thought she and Reyns could be together this way, talk of having a child together.
He let the shirt slide off his body, revealing his nice abs, and ran a hand over his blonde hair that had caught her eyes the other day. He came to sit on the edge of the bed, his back turned to her.
"I just left Shelbrooke's. He is talking about attacking the city soon. Let's say, in three days. I'm freaking nervous."
Luana stood up and ran a hand over his back. "You'll be fine. You always are." She drawled, her words barely audible.
He looked back at her, his green eyes fixed on her.
"And you? You've been declared wanted in Vampire City."
"I'm not bothered. The King never loved me anyway."
"I'm not talking about the King now or love. I'm talking about War." He made to stand but she pulled him to sit back down on the bed.
"You're not going anywhere." She stood up, running her hands all over him at once and chuckling. "Why don't we forget about the war for a while and focus on us?"
Reyns let a smile lift his lips and he immediately pressed her on the bed, crushing his lips on hers.
"Mmm." She moaned, wrapping a hand around his neck.
Reyns began to remove her clothes, caressing her breasts and running his wet lips on her skin. She arched her back and enjoyed his touch, biting her lips and not getting worried about the coming war. She was with her lover and not with Zeidan. This man was just as good if not better, compared to Zeidan.
Reyns came up again and they kissed. He nibbed at her upper lips and ran both hands all over her, pulling apart her clothes.
She closed her eyes and her memory flashed back to that night when she had grabbed Zeidan's collar and kissed him hard, running her hand over his shaft. She let out a sharp gasp, calling his name but quickly regretted it as Reyns rose.
"Damnit!" He muttered, grabbing his shirt and putting it back on.
"Reyns, I'm sorry." She apologized as she managed to stand but her legs wobbled.
"Every time!" He yelled at her.
"Every time Luana! You always have his name on your lips every time I'm with you. Forget about him, he doesn't love you."
"Well, do you?!" She yelled at him, voice shaky but he simply looked away. "I thought as much. You are just after the pleasure we both give each other and not because of anything else. I was emotionally attached to Zeidan and you can't change that."
"We had a kid."
"And love?" He wanted to say something but a knock rattled on the wooden door.
Reyns got it and they talked for a while before he looked back.
"You have a visitor." He said and went out leaving her to wonder who it is.
