"Do you mind telling me what that was about, Queen of Vampire city? One and only Luna." Zeidan moved to kiss Lyne on the cheeks as she lay on the bed sideways, her back turned to him.
"Good morning, sleeping beauty."
"Good morning, handsome Prince." She teased back and they both laughed.
"How're you doing this morning?"
"Guilty. Very guilty." Her face turned serious again and Zeidan was worried for her. It is all coming in a rush and she's having a hard time learning it. He isn't a Wolf, so helping her learn was not in his capacity at all. Unless she goes back to her family.
"Look, sweetheart." He embraced her from the back and rubbed her arms, trying hard to soothe her.
"I know you're all new to this and you're thinking maybe you're doing very bad at it. I just want you to know, that there's always a first time for everything. And for every first time, there's always a screw-up. More like a bad day first day kinda thing but what I want you, my love," he kissed her neck, "to know, is that for every first time, and for every screw-up, I'm always there for you. I'm always there with you."
He pulled her hair away to get a clear view of her face and when she turned to look at him, he was mesmerized by her beauty. This woman doesn't deserve any ounce of pain she is getting and if getting the pain in her place was going to make her relieved, then he could do it.
"Will you really be there?" She asked softly.
"Of course, I'll be there." They both laid there on the bed, Zeidan having his wife in his arms and assuring each other that their future will be bright if they stood by each other.
"However, I have an idea on how to treat your Wolf sickness."
"What is it?" She rose up and Zeidan regretted it as he felt like a chunk of him had just been taken away. He liked feeling her skin and warmth.
"Actually, I was wondering if you could go to the South jungle. I mean, only they can know about what is going on with you."
"What?" Her face held rage. "I'm not going back there. When I was there, I was just a bloody human with no wolf. Why should I go there as a Wolf?"
"Because they are your people..."
"And I don't belong here?"
"No, Lyne. Just please, listen to me. I don't know how to handle a Wolf. I mean, you almost tore me apart for calling you, sweetheart."
"I did?" She asked, one of her brows arched.
"Yes. And none of the doctors in Vampire city know about this. Not even Stevenson. And the human scientists? They will freak out. You know how hard it is for a human to comprehend these sights. I mean, look at Gillian. She is in the hospital, still unconscious. Imagine if we told them your sickness, they would leave us alone thinking we are freaks."
The words seemed to be sinking into her mind as she went quiet, face thoughtful.
"I still think going back to the South jungle will help you tame your Wolf."

"No!" She yelled. "There have to be other ways. I've been gone for three months and they never thought of asking about me. No. I am not relevant. I am useless. But now that I have a Wolf, I should go about throwing myself into their arms for their acceptance? Hell, no."
"That isn't what we are going there to do. We are only going to tame. Your. Wolf. Get that right. Come on." Zeidan probed as he sat on the edge of the bed staring at Lyne whose eyes were feeding hungrily on his bare chest.
★★★★★★★★★★
Does he ever know the magic he does to her every time he doesn't wear a shirt? Damn, her stomach burned in excitement, and right now, she wanted to be in his arms. Feel that warmth that had woken her up this morning. She crossed to the other side of the bed where he sat down and spread her arms.
At first, he looked at her, confused. But after she pouted like a kid wanting a cone of ice cream, he chuckled and he seemed to have understood. He stood up and pulled her into his embrace, placing a cheek on her head. Her arms were wrapped around his waist while he wrapped his around her neck.
"I'm scared." She confessed and she was right. What if her Wolf decided to vanish again the moment she stepped into the South jungle.
"Scared of what? Of your Wolf? Of Styx?" His chest moved with the way he talked and hearing his heartbeat was more calming. She just knew with the rhythm that this man was meant for her as it matched her own. But was she really scared of anything? Maybe no.
"No. I'm only scared of...the unknown." She swallowed and felt Zeidan pull her tighter to him.
"Whatever the unknown is, we're diving into it together. Don't be scared. But, Lyne, about last night, do you care to talk about it?" He asked and Lyne tried ransacking her brain for everything that had happened the previous night, only to find little that she could remember.
"Well, I can't seem to remember quite a handful. I mean, I've forgotten most part of it except for when I started perceiving danger. After that, it all went blank. It was like only a few parts of me were conscious. It felt like I was falling in and out of consciousness."
"That's because you can't control your Wolf. It happens to people who just get initiated into vampirism. They tend to do things unknowingly to them. However, a law was established to keep new initiates in a fully guarded room because the number of Vampires killing humans or tourists kept rising and they were blaming it on having fresh blood. Since then, all new initiates must be brought into the guarded room until they can control their appetites and powers." He explained and she listened intently.
"If my Wolf powers also need to be tamed, then we have to use the same method." She looked at Zeidan with a hopeful smile. "We don't even have to go to the South Jungle."
But Zeidan's face was unmoved. More like it doesn't work that way. He exhaled and shook his head pitifully.
"I'm afraid that's not how it works. Wolves and Vampires. Two different clans, two different ancestors. Our powers are also different so taming you might be harder than taming a Vampire."
