Sniffling in the bathroom and sobbing, Lyne stood up and moved to a wall mirror in the washroom. she looked back at the reflection and wondered if she has not been denying herself something she needs right that moment.
Staring back at a blonde-haired girl with eye bags, glassy blue eyes, red lips, and wearing a tiny flower-printed nightgown, she could only say one thing. Marrying Zeidan has given her lots of privileges that she should be thankful for.
Freedom, happiness, and the ability to feel loved even if it was all an act. She could remember his kisses, his touch, and all the tenderness that made her feel whole and it's like Zeidan reconstructed all parts of her life that have previously been pulled apart like the temple.
The temple.
She looked up at herself and the dried-up blood on her fingers and something flashed through her memories.
"...hundred years ago..."
"...started a protest and this place became history..."
She lifted her fingers and looked at the blood that stained it. She closed her eyes and she felt like her heart was pounding as she saw darkness at first.
Then an approaching footstep. For ten seconds, she heard it loud and clear but she had to open her eyes when it scared her so much.
Brows furrowing as she looked at the mirror, she wondered how she was able to do that.
"The temple." She mentioned and decided to run there. Going into the room, Zeidan had left. She felt a second's pang of disappointment hit her before she grabbed a red short dress from the rack and a pair of black boots and a bonnet.
Avoiding the guards, she passed through the hallway in a black cloak that concealed her dress and jumped the fence to the royal stable to steal a white horse.
In a minute, she was riding the horse through the vast fields, the morning sun hitting the cloak and the warmth calming her nerves. She could see the dome from afar and she smiled as she rode the horse to the temple.
Tying the horse to a tree-like Zeidan had done the first time they visited, she walked gently to the building with plenty of time to access it. She walked into the torn building and as she hit her foot on a rock, she noticed it was made from artificial sand as it had patterns on them.
"What's this?" She picked it up with her gloved hands.
"Is it ceramics? I didn't think that ceramics were used to make rocks."
She hit it with her knuckles and like magic, something loud clicked from inside the building. She looked around to see if anyone followed her and moved further when she confirmed there was no one.
Inside the dark hallway stood a gigantic door by the right side. It had a lock and that was what clicked.
Lyne moved closer to it and rubbed her hands over the metal rod that crossed the iron door and she could see the drawing of small different angels on them. Pulling the rod forward, the lock began to give way and each booming sound equated to her heartbeat.
Soon, the door creaked open and it revealed a room but in a jiffy, she dodged a long sword that swiped past her way by a pig's nose.
"Looks like I intruded someone's privacy." She whispered, biting her lips as she looked at the figure before her who wore a long black robe that only exposed her eyes.
It looked feminine. She swirled her sword in her hand and flew towards Lyne to strike her but she was fast enough to roll to the other side so the sword hit the floor. Rising with dust that filled her nostrils, she knew she had to leave the temple.

But she had to move past this anonymous black feminine figure. She noticed the lady's eyes crossed to her hand which had the rock. She knew she was going to collect it from her but this was evidence to prove to Zeidan that someone had been living in the temple. She turned to run further into the building just like when Zeidan brought her but the figure ran behind her too.
As she got to the big room that had the steps and altar, the black cloak flew from behind her and landed in front of her which caused her to fall with the stone running out of her hand. The figure moved to take it but she was faster. The person fell on her back and she had her face buried in the white sand in the building.
She tried to scream but the black-gloved hand grabbed her hair and pressed her neck. After a while of struggling to breathe with the rock in sight, two feet from where she lay with the person on her, she punched the feminine figure in the face with her whole strength.
"Ow!" The feminine voice came out and it caused her to be angrier.
Her heart beating fast and her neck still aching, she grabbed the rock and went to the altar, climbing the pole just as she watched Zeidan the day they played the chase game.
The cloak tried to fly but she was fast in climbing the pole. However, as a sword flew towards her, she lost her balance and fell from the twenty feet pole, hitting her head on a stone. She gasped and squeezed the rock in her hand. The feminine figure walked up to her and crouched to take the rock but she stabbed her neck with the rock.
"Aaaaahhhhhhhh!!!" She screamed and Lyne managed to rise and run out of the temple, mounting her horse and riding back to the palace, the rock still in her hand.
The sun was still up when she rode back to the palace, her head felt sticky and wet. She knew she was bleeding fast and as well feeling weak. As she got to her quarter, the guards ran to help her off the horse and as she gave a tall woman who looked like Chloe the rock, she passed out.

Zeidan sat on his throne in the palace, his head resting on his finger. He had Kyle and some other lawmakers sitting on each side of the room, deliberating over an issue.
"How long do you think it will take for Skye to reach Vampire City?" One of the lawmakers asked, his full black beard that concealed his mouth moving with each word.
"We have no idea. He lives in the human city, and no matter how hard we try to convince him to stay, he still wouldn't budge." Kyle replied as he shook his head.
Zeidan let a low grunt escape him. He was worried about something else. He had caused Lyne pain and he wasn't pleased with the way things were. He'd said he had feelings for her but could he drop everything for her. For some reason, he thought it was time to let her see what he sees.
She'd come with him to Vampire city. She could have refused or left the Wolf kingdom away to some other places. But she chose to stay, with him. She'd come here. She'd made him happy. And he shouldn't take him for granted.
The lawmakers kept murmuring until Luana walked in wearing a blue robe and a white cape that signified membership of the courthouse officials or Lawyers.
Everyone stopped talking and had their eyes on her.
"Are you ready for the hearing?" She asked a seemingly confused Zeidan who straightened in his seat.
"The Lawyer hasn't arrived," Kyle answered but she turned her gaze towards him, a playful smile on her lips.
"We don't need him to start the hearing."
The room was filled with murmurs until she spoke again.
"I will represent the Prosecuting counsel. I will be prosecuting Wikh."
Zeidan raised his head.
