Zeidan Bran stood facing the long widows, dressed in a black tuxedo, white shirt, and black Italian leather shoes. He was wearing a golden Rolex wristwatch and his hair was still wet. He looked very cheery and why not, his wife sat
a few inches away, looking at some papers scattered across the table. Her hair was worn down and it made her look more beautiful.
He remembered what had happened the night before and his heart skipped a beat at how much he had enjoyed every inch of her. He walked up to her and stared down at the papers she was looking through.
"What are those?" He asked.
"These are the printed CCTV footage from the time you arrived in Los Angeles and when you went to see Samantha. I thought the unknown person might have come to your company to do something. But to do what?"
"You don't possibly mean that she came here to look for me thinking I would come here straight but didn't see me?"
"Probably," Lyne answered. "But, you arrived so late at night so when did the girl see her?"
"Maybe she stayed overnight. But, I stayed in overnight too. With my secretary."
Lyne looked at him for a while and he was confused as to why. She walked up to him with one of the footage. It had a black and white blurry picture of a young blonde-haired woman wearing a white shirt and short skirt and standing in the elevator. She picked another one that had the same woman walking down the hallway at exactly midnight.
"She was supposed to have gone home. Why was she still in the company at this time?"
"I thought you said you were with her overnight." Lyne inquired, looking at him with her brows furrowed.
"No, I meant I was with her the whole night because I was told she was overworking and by 10:00 pm she should be on her way home. Why was she still here till midnight?" Then, he remembered back when she walked into his office and almost fell because she saw him. The look of horror on her face when she saw him was obvious. Had she been planning something? Was she the one who killed Samantha? But even so, how was she able to get the ancient heels, and for what reasons would she kill the pharmacist? Many thoughts ran in his head and for once he missed his powers. He could have just called her and read her thoughts.
Or maybe. He looked up at Lyne who stared at him.
"Maybe someone with powers can do that." He smiled victoriously.
"Someone with...what are you saying?" She squealed when he grabbed her hands and walked her to the elevator.
"What the hell are you doing, Zeidan?" She asked again but he only smiled and when they reached the ground floor, he found his way to the staff quarters where there were plenty of corporate-dressed employees sitting each of them focused on one thing or another on their desks. And there she was wearing just a lovely purple sleeveless dress with her hair down.
They all stopped what they were doing and faced Zeidan. He could feel her heart stop.
"So, guys, I know it has been a while since I last came here, and trust me I am very impressed by how you all handled the company with so much vigor and passion for the upliftment of our company." They all clapped. "However, my disappearance hasn't been without a reason. I left because I had some pressing issues to attend to..." He kept admonishing the staff.

Lyne looked at him as he talked and soon he had introduced her as his wife to all of them. They all cheered but she could feel it. All of their thoughts were easy to feel. Some were unconcerned and they just wanted him to finish with his speech so they could continue their work; some were very happy that he had finally decided to sit his sexy but hovering ass down; while some, or one was not too happy. Slowly, she turned her head to the side, and from the corner of her eyes, she could sight the blonde from inside the printed CCTV footage. Her hair was almost white as if it was bleached and her shirt concealed the top part of her breasts.
Lyne looked at her profile fully and like magic, she could hear what was in her head.
"Fuck you, pretty woman, you finally got him. Congrats, bitch..." And many other swear words she wouldn't want to hear. But how did she do that?
She squeezed Zeidan's hands gently and as he got the drill, he rounded up.
"So, that will be all for today. Thank you, everyone. As for you, Gillian Smart, meet me in the office!" He turned and pulled Lyne with him.
"I don't understand what you are talking about." She whined, her face crumpled as if she was about to cry but Lyne wasn't buying any of it. Not after all the swear words and curses.
"I do understand that you are a bit confused by how my wife is asking you these questions but we need to clarify some issues..."
"We need to know what deal you made with the Vampire." Lyne spat and Zeidan glanced at her, his look pleading for her to calm down.
"Vampi...this is absurd. What manner of ridiculousness is this?" Gillian shook her head, her face void of whatever could give her away and Lyne sighed in frustration.
"Gillian, look, we have evidence to prove that you've been into something bad."
She looked at him, her face tearing apart as they turned pale.
"You know?"
Lyne folded her arms and moved to the papers where she pulled out the one with her face and showed her.
"You were in the company till midnight. Why?" She asked the other woman with red lips.
Gillian swallowed before talking. "I was working overnight and I wanted to impress you."
"Did you talk to anyone after then?" Zeidan asked and she looked up at him as if saying anything might get her into trouble. She stood up to go but Lyne moved closer and pulled her to stop. Gillian tripped on her heels and she fell on the floor.
An object clanked and flew across the room.
"No! No!" Gillian tried to rise but Lyne took the object and behold it was a necklace similar to the one they had found on the girl.
"Look what I found on her, Zeidan." She called as she placed the necklace in his hand and brought out the second to compare. "The complete pair of the jewelry."
"If the Vampire had come in at that time when Gillian was moving about, they must have discussed before she or he went to kill Samantha." He squeezed the jewelry in his hand as he stared hard at Gillian, his veins were visible on his head. "She led the person to Sam!"
He grabbed Gillian's neck and pinned her to the wall so she was above him. He squeezed her neck so hard that he wanted her to choke.
"Zeidan, no. Just let her go, please." Lyne pleaded, her eyes teary already as she grabbed his arm but he wasn't listening to her. His dark gaze was fixed on Gillian as he squeezed harder and she was grateful for once that he didn't have his powers or she would have been a corpse.
"This is not the way to go about getting justice for your friend. I'm sure she wouldn't want you killing someone for her. Just please, let her go. Or she wouldn't tell us who the culprit is so we can save your people from further calamity."
He loosened his grip as she said the last words and as he released her neck, she fell with a thud.
"Who did you meet?" Lyne asked the woman who was almost out of breath.
"I don't know. She..." She tried breathing. "She had on...had on a cloak that concealed her face. She gave m...me that necklace because she wanted me to tell her where you were. Of course, I knew you were in the office already but I lied to her that you had gone across the street to greet your friend. I had no idea she would hurt your friend. I just didn't want her to hurt you." She cried hard and Zeidan's face softened.
"So, you didn't see the person's face?"
"No, I didn't."
To Lyne, she knew that the search has just begun.
